My electrical service disconnect melted at some point overnight. Box was all smoked out, one of the hot poles on the breaker had fallen apart and burnt up... So pretty much the other hot pole was handling the load. It would come in through the disconnect to the two hot bars on the internal box, and pretty much fed the other hot bar that wasn't toast via the A/C, which uses a 2-pole breaker. So then it burnt out both fuses on the exterior which go to the central A/C too.
New 20A breaker for A/C just in case.
2 fuses, A/C.
New meter/disconnect combination box.
Service hub (wrong size anyway, just used the old one which was in good shape.)
$166 in so far. If the meter and disconnect were two boxes I could have gotten away with a $30 box that just has a single breaker, not this giant combo thing that has room to add 8 more breakers (which we don't need, all ours are inside) and with all these other fancy features.
And I have to get a new run of 100A 4-wire cable to run from the two boxes, probably about $40-50 worth. Then call the utility company back to reconnect the overheads and reinstall their meter. Good, good times. I have pictures, just been too long of a day to bother.
