Went to HD and picked up hopefully is the rest of what I need.
I have the new meter socket and service disconnect installed on the side of the house. The centerline of the meter is not supposed to be over 6 feet off the ground, I better measure it because if so then they can either bite me or I'll have to really figure something out. They only actually read every other month, it alternates between actual and estimate month by month.
Got a knockout plate to cover the one I mistakenly punched out that turned out to be a hair too small. Was deciding between splicing or running a whole new length of service disconnect wiring, just went with new. Got a length of bare copper to help reach the new location. Hopefully this all works. According to the utility's guidelines, nothing I've done requires an inspection even beyond their little look-see inside the meter pan to make sure I didn't try bypassing it before they install it.
