Roadie, that bothers the shit out of me, believe it. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I am 54 years old. the other site is the first forum I ever became a member of. I enjoyed the comradery of it. Now its different, because all my " comrades " are here. I will do my best to lure the noobs here, but I feel I have an attachment there. Its kinda hard to explain. I will cease to be a member at that sight, this weekend, if for no other reason, then to be welcomed here. I need you guys for support and freindship.
P.S I'm still working on my build from 2 roll over TBs, and will need lots of help in the near future.

the OS and ORTB are the first 2 Vehicle forums that I was so involved in. Some of the others that I have been on I just signed up to try to find answers to my problems. I still go over there to try to get what few of the Vegas crew over here, though I am on global ignore.

We have been fortunate to have some of our vendors follow us over here. They just have to be on both sites for maximum visibility to the platform and potential customers.

TrailVoy was my first one as well that I joined in Oct 08 after I got my truck in Sept of 08. Since then i have joined quite a few different ones and by far, this is my favorite.

The one good thing that did come from TrailVoy is having the chance to meet and interact with people that I most likely would have ever had the chance to talk to and through that I learned a ton about my truck and i am grateful for that. Now I am happy to be here and I hope I am able to help in making it better than TrailVoy ever was.

Trailvoy was my first forum as well. I joined in Feb 07 shortly after buying my TB. I went to my first meet in the spring of that year and those guys made me feel like part of the group. It was awesome. Since then I've met a lot of cool people and made a lot of good friends. And the best part is - they're all here now!

Leading noobs here to where the active community is, would be the best thing for them going forward. The OS is a reference book now, to be searched and consulted, but not added to, IMHO. :

I think that you are spot on. It does seem like quite a shame to have all of that information there whither away and die.

I just looked there for an answer and a "super mod" with a join date of last month, tells someone that does not have much experience that maybe he shouldnt be working on cars. I know mechanic-ing isn't for everyone, but that seems a little harsh to me. If that is the way things are going to be over there, I will gladly stay away.

Did someone tell him that maybe he shouldn't be moderating a forum due to his lack of experience? :hopeless:

I have always been very grateful for the kind help from good people on this forum. I belong only to this group. I am not a master mechanic, but just a guy who would rather fix something myself (actually, if i werent a teacher, and money was not a worry...). Anyways, you guys have helped a ton. Thanks.

I didn't post much on the OS. Since finding out, I will only use the OS for a reference center, as there is a lot of good material there. I will only post here though. These are the people that have helped me in the past, and will in the future! Thanks guys and gals! I also look fwd to helping out here when I can.

Kinda the same 'ol same 'ol, I was getting a PM once a week about editing my profile and usercp since I was plastering it with this site or "not here" for my location, and I was pasting my email all over my profile since they took it out..

Then I finally got a PM from the Admin "kindly" asking me to refrain from telling members to email me about the change to this site... so I replied (exactly what Jman said to say in an earlier post here) and also added my two cents, and well... I guess the Admin didn't like that lol... I was bashing their new Super Mods and how they are supplying wrong info, etc.. so I said I would continue to email and tell people to email me so they can get the right info...

But never the less.. I have other ways.... also.. I logged in with a friends vacated account... guess what.. my BANNED account was logged in ... I searched for user name and it had the little green dot lit up next to my name stating I was online... that's just funny right there...

Surprised they spent any of their (the two goofball mods) precious time going after members who had been there longer than they have. They can't keep up with the technical questions, and spammers get away with littering the site with impunity.

Now, take note of how long your username shows in the active user list, I bet it is more than two hours.

I bet they thought this would be winding down by now, but the more they piss off all the people that built that place, the more determined everyone becomes to spread the word even more.

Unfortunately, the admin over there is having to work for his money... it's about time.

For Vertical Scope's purposes, ZOMBIE members are EXACTLY as valuable as live ones. The numbers come out the same that they sell to their advertisers.

Actually, zombies are preferable because they have few demands and they aren't as uppity.

Regrettable, but we can't. Noobs are unfortunately caught in the crossfire, but it was Vertical Scope's decision to ruin the community by neglect and parasitism.

I see posts going unanswered, noobs answering their own questions three days later, wrong answers, delayed answers by the same 3-4 people.

Sigh.....when we finally get noticed by Google, that will change. Having our own clubhouse is fine, but being able to help new owners and pass it on is the real mission. :hissyfit:

Thanks BROTHER for getting ME banned over there too! Even though I haven't posted over there in months! :rotfl: :raspberry:

You have been banned for the following reason:
Per IP tracking, I can see that Boricua SS is using this member name and PM'ing members.

Date the ban will be lifted: Never

Not that I'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight or anything but why the hell would I get banned because of this? Do they think I LET him into my account to do this because he's my brother? What if my account simply got hacked through no fault of mine?

They probably thought it was just a second account that he created.

But now that starts a new contest. Who can get banned the most times on the OS? Boricua now has to find another IP to work from. Hmmm. Laptop + Starbucks/McDonalds/Holiday Inn/public library = infinite possibilities (almost)

Should be easy for him. Boricua works for McD's. Should be able to have some fun :wootwoot:

Even the noobs are starting give our friends grief. Looks like the kinder, gentler, spoon-feeding Super-Mod mode is wearing off.

So if any of us that are on golbal ignore, would it mess with the site if we all started new threads, and just started posting in every single thread?

:rotfl:.. they just used that as an excuse.. because one, i dont have your password, two, im not even on your network to use your IP Address, three, i didnt even have a laptop until January of this year, and four, i never PM'd anyone about this site.. i sent them e-mails and/or posts on the actual thread...

so the only thing i can think of, is they are using any excuses to get rid of all the old, knowledgeable, most contributing members...

If I told you I have over 10 accounts on TV that I use while masking my IP (VPN), just to poison the well... would you believe me?

Hey, TV "mods"/moles. I see you reading this. You've posted in my threads. I make an incredibly good "noob who can't search". I'm also good with PMs. Still reading all of those? You're not reading them closely enough. :raspberry:

Ovbiously since we are on ignore they will not bring the threads up, but I am wondering if it would create database errors and other things like that.

Noob-herding and spammer-banning is a frustrating hobby that was bearable when we had ten of us to share the workload. Imagine doing it solo for NO GLORY, NO MONEY, and NO FAME for a Toronto company who is just in it for the ads.

Ya gotta wonder what sort of masochist would sign up for that sort of miserable existence. Can't ever go to a GMTN meet. Can't put together enough noobs to have a meet of his own. Can't even take a day off EVER or else the spammers will sign up, some of us might slip back in for recruiting, and poor noob questions will go unanswered until bumped threads outnumber new ones.

While at the same time not having the dice to post using his original screen name. At least noob mod #1 kept it real in that sense.

I got a new ISP, so until Monday, I can use my old IP address if I wanted.
Shall I?

Look who I found. I can only *guess* who is actually behind it.
