Your first picture is the resonator. If I recall correctly I have seen other Iowa members that have removed it and not had any issues. The second picture you posted is the catalytic converter. The third picture is the muffler.

Honestly, there is very very little sound difference with the resonator versus without it. It is just a huge eye sore, that is why it gets removed.

That is the only reason why I want mine removed it's fugly. Good thing I verified with you all because I would have argued that the thing under the passenger seat(2nd pic) was the muffler

Sorry...it's been a little while since I've been under mine. I thought my muffler was under my passenger seat. Well, at least I knew the resonator.

24 inch...AR? I am looking for an upper myself. Seen any good deals in the 18 inch variety?

Out here in CA, nothing is cheap. I stumbled upon and purchased a Bushmaster 24" varmint upper new for about $369. I am building the lower and adding goodies now. I will post pics when it is complete.
I have not looked into 18" because I already have a 16" completed and a 1968 'nam era 20" A1 in the box waiting for a lower.

The Zombies don't stand a chance. :explode:

I would take a hold of that double barrel, and I'd take the WHOLE thing, a little recoil doesn't scare me.

Taking the truck to see the parents this weekend and pick up my SS parts so I can get the locker in the rearend and swap over to the 4.10s. Monday I am off so hopefully I can get the new tires mounted on the new wheels. Then swap over to the 3/4 ton tie rods and make use of my lifetime alignment. Should be a good couple weeks for my rig.

I just got back from a Palm Springs golf trip. In spite of my better judgment I did call Duc when we were headed back to the airport in LA. After receiving my scolding for not calling him earlier in the week, we settled into the usual silly banter that happens when two doppelgangers partake in old jokes and ancient quotes.

Anytime anyone is vacationing in So.Cal. I would consider it an honor if they called me and we met at a Starbucks somewhere.

Except for a certain unnamed Canadian citizen because we have been asked not to visit at least 2 Starbucks in our area..... :raspberry::rotfl:
And one of them we never even went into, they just caught wind of our being in the area and sent out a text message.:hissyfit::biggrin:

Some things will always stay much the same. I am looking forward to the personalized Starbucks card and I have won on the roll up the rim at tim's about as many times as the Leafs have won the Stanley Cup in the last 59 years!

It is very unusual for me to be up at 0-dark-30. Getting ready to take the wife over to the park for her 2nd attempt to run 100 miles. Last year she completed 75 miles before dropping out due to hypothermia. (it was 38* at 12:45 AM) It's much warmer this year. She is hoping to finish in 26 - 27 hours.

Good luck to her! The most I have run is a 1/2 marathon. I did get to 15 miles training for my 1st full marathon before I got a stress fracture in one of my toes.

I can't imagine trying to run 100 miles.

Yeah, that's my distance too. I've run four so far. I don't know if/when I'll ever try a full.

Well, we're in NC and it's raining right now. Should clear up this afternoon so she'll have a dry night.

She didn't finish. (she still gets credit for the 50 miler though) She sent me a text at 2:30 AM saying that she was falling asleep on her feet. She has found another in North-central PA that she might try.

Big Job Testing Thursday I feel pretty confident in that it is general mechanical knowledge but this Job pays almost as much in one week as I make in two so of course Im nervous, this would make paying the SS and school off a lot easier and take some stress off.

REMEMBER THIS!? TODAY......HIRED!! Ship down to Oklahoma may 14th for 10 weeks of training. And as if things cant get better its the big family fishing tournament this weekend at Lake Of The Ozarks which has been going strong since the 70s way before me lol...could not be happier right now.

I end up giving my cans and bottles to this homeless guy. He comes by on a rickety old bicycle. At first he used to stop and look in all the recycling bins on garbage day. Now he comes straight to my place and has made a sling to put bags over the handlebars and the seat. Now I collect them at work and put them out for him. I'm not sure if this is genuine heartfelt goodwill or a desire to see if I can pop his tires!:rotfl:

Good thing you are not in the U.S. If you did that here and his tire popped, he would sue you and your company because you made it too tempting for him to steal, thus damaging his sole means of transportation.
You would be on the hook for his medical bills, a fleet of heavy duty, made to government spec bicycles, a storage facility, and oh yea, a mere million for his pain and suffering. :hissyfit::rotfl:
