Good deal. Some just dont realize what they are buying with that style home.

It looks like it has solid bones and a good place to raise a family and invest some sweat equity into a nice deck and such.

Since I got your address, I guess I will need to come by and make sure the deck works for drinking beer the next time I go see family out that direction.:raspberry:

I have never been so interested in Adams apples since my brother had an "incident" when we were in our 20's :lipsrsealed: I had to go back after watching them for a couple of minutes to make sure it was all cool. I love Vegas! And seeing that they took all my money this trip I must return to win it back! (How often has that worked out?)

accepted an offer on our house Sunday night. we had/have a standing offer on a new house (pending the sale of ours) that, by the grace of God, is still available. The first offer on our house fell through and it was very discouraging. Took a bit of a hit on the house, but it was worth it. We bought the house just over three years ago, and have since added 3 kids. Needless to say, we have outgrown this place. Moving on to a place with a better setup(room), nice neighborhood, good schools, garage, and most importantly central air (window AC in the current place). Home inspection is tonight. If all goes well, this will be the house my family grows up in. Scared about putting my address up on the internet? No. Mr. Walther and Mr. Remmington keep an eye out.

I am truly amazed at how reasonable housing is in your area! That same style house built in 1970 across the street from me is priced at over 500k. It looks like such a nice area too!

I think i would have a hard time moving someplace else and accepting the higher prices of homes.....unless you are talking about TX, where it seams like you can get a farking awesome house for about the same price as this one. Golf course is right across the street also.

Got the home inspection done this week. Everything checks out for the most part. Big ticket items are fine; needs some basic maintenance and upkeep but that is something i can do. Pest and Radon inspections this weekend. watched my realtor put the SOLD sign on the sing in our front yard. such a good feeling.

Open Y pipe directly after the headers while driving a cammed car can be extremely loud in the cabin... Had my Camaro's exhaust separate due to catching the low-hanging clamp on a speedbump today. Ouch. I'm not going to put it off anymore - to the exhaust shop it goes to get tucked up and welded up properly!

Ironically this happened right outside the office of one of my work clients - a hearing specialist :rotfl:

I had that specifically set on my '55 Chev. .Unclamped pipes after the headers. The bracket was on rubber strips so it blew back under pressure. When ever I stomped it I had instant open headers  And with .488 gears is pushed allot of exhaust and all at the astounding price of 33 cents a gallon! It seemed right in 1974 :undecided:

So I have a little jaunt to California this week. A couple of my American friends are getting married in Ripon. As it would happen my buddy in Washington hooked up with a girl from that part so her parents lured them down there to get married. They don't have two nickels to rub together so they caved for a fancy wedding and a 18 hour drive.

Jackie is a great young lady so she deserves to have her parents spend a few bucks to throw this party.

So we get the pleasure of landing in Frisco and get a taste of it for a day. Then down to Carmel for another day just to tease the wife with a little of the scenery there and then off to Ripon. I think Ripon is a dusty little place and will be pretty hot but I think the trip for this wedding will be enough to get the wife interested in taking a longer tour of the area!:undecided:

So thankful for working AC in my TB, my Camaro, and my rental. Miserable temperatures and high humidity this week.

The AC in the TB is a little weak (always has been) but it still brings the temps and humidity down to more than tolerable levels.

I'm not running mine very often, just a few times when i'm moving. But I love driving with the windows down in the country.

I usually roll with the windows down too but when it is mid-90s and humid I roll those windows up and kick on the cold air!

Sometimes the heat can be worse than a simple discomfort - Today I drove my Camaro on a longer trip on some state routes that wound through the country (awesome drive). I had the t-tops off and windows down on the return trip. It was warm but it wasn't too bad I thought... until I got to the end of the trip, got out of the car, and walked into a place to get some lunch. Suddenly got woozy and almost passed out! I rocked the AC the rest of the day...

So with only 4 showings in 7 months, our house was shown 3 times this weekend. The 2nd showing said..."it shows rough...carpets bad..yadayadayada, but we are meeting at 1130 monday to put together an offer" Which tells me that it will be a low ball offer, but at least we got action. The 1st showing said the carpet was the turnoff as well.

Guess I will be redoing the flooring this weekend if the offer is not decent, but any good thoughts or prayers that the offer is good and we can finally move is appreciated.

Thanks and Happy Monday Ya'll

Why not add new carpeting as part of the deal? That way the buyer can have input about the color and type. :twocents:

Was an idea i had planned on taking advantage of until the offer had nearly 4% demanded for closing. Buyers agent is definitenot helping them. We countered n he already talked shit about the numbers but they were same as he gave except for base price...i think he has issues or is flat dumb.

He actually asked if we expected his buyer to bring cash to closing...well yeah we do dipshit...they are buying the house...we sure aint paying them to buy it.

Made the trip to Ohio from Iowa on Friday (and home on Sunday) for my best friends wedding. Well worth the miles on the old behind. Got hit by the friday evening storm just east of Indy. Hope all of our Indiana / Ohio members have their power back and weathered the storm without too much damage.

Yeah that storm was a doozy. Looking out the window and seeing this fast-moving wall of water heading towards you is a little unnerving  Hurricane force winds in Ohio? WHAT? Screwy. No one I know has too bad of damage, but my parents lost half a tree and have lots of smaller limbs all over their yard, and my brother's inlaws had a tornado go overhead and poke holes in their siding with hail, and several people I know still don't have power, but from seeing the storm and seeing what happened to some other people they all got off pretty easy actually.

Day 3 of 7 days of 4 hour motorcycle rider training classes. One more classroom then off to the parking lot. Apparently they make the parking lot rides that you do for three 4 hour sessions pure hell. That way when you head out to the street ride it all seems so calm. I saw the super soaker squirt guns ..... should be interesting. So much to remember and then having an 8 time super bike champion as an instructor is cool.

Work is really getting in the way of things. Man am I getting tired. :banghead:

Well worth it in the end. I've been riding since 1985. (I never took a class though...just the test) My wife took the class to get her endorsement a few years ago. She liked it so much, she was thinking about taking the advanced class.

Well the course was the best thing that I could have done. Finally finished and qualified to ride alone as a "learner" but not after dark.

Heading down to cruise the beach this afternoon to look at ....... sea shells ya that's it.

Congrats Bill! :wootwoot: :celebrate:

Things sure are different here. You get a learners permit (aka "Temps") by taking a written test. (mainly traffic laws)
The restrictions are: No passengers, No congested roads or freeways and No night riding. Temps are good for one year.

Then, you can either take the road test (a course in a parking lot) or take a state approved safety class. Passing either of these earns your motorcycle endorsement. With this endorsement there are no riding restrictions, except...
Ohio is a helmet-optional state. But, you must have your endorsement for one full year before you can ride without.

Thanks Sam!

Ya it is a different animal here. The parking lot test got me the ride alone status. Same night and passenger restrictions. It also got a speed restriction removed that limits the untested to 40 mph/60 km/hr

The road test involves having a vehicle follow you and give you commands via 1-way radio. They tell you to make left and right turns that always end up putting you in a school zone or past a playground. They check your helmet for looking both ways before each controlled intersection and railway crossings of any kind. Shoulder checks from lane positions 1,2, or 3. They watch for cyclist checks on right turns and shoulder checks , left and right from stops at controlled intersections.

At my age I can barely remember what I had for breakfast let alone all these ridiculous checks. Oh and they want to see valid, and I mean exorcist style head turns of the helmet. The school emailed me a guide to passing the test. I guess I should read that pretty much starting now, according to my instructor. No days off from the drills or the bad habits will start and you don't have a hope of passing the test on the first shot.

My tour of the beach went pretty well. Usual Harley guys parked along the side, sport bikes cruising in T-shirts showing off their triceps, and then the regular riders like me trying to stay focused on the road in spite of the many many distractions ..... that usually come in pairs.

You have a much more difficult testing process there.

I tend to keep my bike away from beaches for just that reason.

Busy busy. Sold house, remodeled a new place and moved in past few weeks. 12-14 hour days and a 150 mile roundtrip commute is a bit rough.
