What did you do to your GMT today?

Noticed my resonator seemed to be angled down a little while leaving work. Must have caught it on something while backing up. So I reached under and shook the crap outta it until I tore it off. Wanted to chuck it as far across the parking lot as I could. Instead I gingerly placed it in the back of the truck lol...

Edit: This is my 420th post. Gonna have to celebrate this milestone lol!

Yeah, it'll never have another one lol. Now I gotta try to find time to get to a shop and have them put in some pipe...

No rush man, you'll be fine with the exhaust dumping behind the axle for a while. Mine's been that way for a few years now, no issues.

Took the beaSSt out of storage and met with a local guy to buy his stock 17" wheels. The beaSSt will be trailer to the tracks now and I'm putting drag radials on the 17's so I can hook up at the track and get the full use out of my Circle D 3200 stall

Finally got the right caliper brackets to do my brakemotive brake upgrade. So that's what I did to my GMT today.

Also noticed I need to do the rear axle shaft seals.

I packed up the friends & fam for a hockey game.

Picked it up from the trans rebuild, huge difference from before. It's been upgraded from a 4L60 to a 4L65 with a hardened sunshell, 3/4 clutch packs, Corvette servos, shift kit and Hayden aux cooler. Quick, crisp shifts without being too harsh for normal driving and feels like the TB has more power. Doesn't slip like it used to, builder said it had been opened up before and had a shift kit in it already so it had been sick for a long time.

Felt so good to drive it again, I laughed until I started coughing.

Chased down a phantom electrical gremlin: while driving home last night, my mirrors folded in by themselves. :weird: Got out the tools, and started at the rear fuse block. Completely forgot about the wiring for the kill switch until I started pulling on it. Then realized the small bottle of adult beverage I put in the center console, likely got jostled and bumped the kill switch. :dunce:

Crisis averted, got out a spray bottle and paper towels, and cleaned up some bird crap off the paint. Much mo betta.

I used mine this weekend to go to and from the land loaded up with hunting stuff. Still half loaded down so tonight it will get unloaded.

Replaced the battery in the TB. It had a 15 year old Optima red top in it.

Took it to a salvage yard. Shopping, not selling. They just got an '04 Trailblazer in and I was hoping to beat the cannibals to it. Nope.

Cleaned her up in side out. Got the tires rotated. And lastly trouble shooting a weird left turn signal issue. Some times it works and some times it doesn't (not solved yet any info appreciated). I guess she's telling me to only make right turns. Lmao

Got a little more oil then I'll need but when I'm getting it for free I can't complain.

Half washed mine. Broke out the bottle of detailing spray I got from @hockeyman, and a microfiber wash mit from Harbor Freight. On first use, I am not impressed. Some of the problem may have been the fact that I used a HF product, may try something different next time.

Did notice something random while doing the bottom of the passenger side doors. Saw something small and gray. Opened the back door and saw this :hopeless:

After taking care of that, broke out the lot of SS rear suspension parts I picked up from @saze last night. The shocks are pretty rusty, tried to hit them with a wire brush on a drill, and didn't have much luck there either. Still need springs, @24v 4.2 clued me in on some Moog replacements that are affordable, so maybe after the holidays we'll look into that.

What is that?

What is that?

I assume you're talking about the 2nd bit... that is a wasp nest. I did find a couple dead ones on the floor. That's what happens when you skimp out on rent!

As for today, got to my dad's house and decided to dive in and tackle his cluster. His only working gauges were speedo and coolant temp. :hopeless:

He also had been complaining about a dangling rear view mirror, which I thought the Torx screw had simply come loose and it popped off the window mount. Upon closer inspection, most of the teeth on the ball joint are broken so the snap ring that provides friction has nothing to hold onto. Time for a new mirror.

That's funny with the nest but to bad for the other repairs.

I replace my fog light bulbs with 893's today and lubed the front end while I was there.

Took off the now-broken underspoiler, and fastened the now-broken front bumper cover back in place with wire ties, until I can get a replacement installed. As for the 'how'...I had an incident with a tree in my side drive last Sunday due to 15" of snow and some alcohol (lost my mom earlier in the day, and my wife six weeks earlier, so I figured I had a reason).

May take it back to the shop that refastened my rear spoiler recently (no double-stick tape for them - they went with a bonding agent to the glass - did a great job with it). I just have to dig out the dremel and trim down the front edge of the spoiler as it binds when I lift the tailgate, depending on the angle of the vehicle.

Took care of my flasher issue and installed my new cpas of course this was yesterday. I had now codes and my engine was running smooth but I figured I'm at 12×××× miles so I might aswell. I'm kinda glad I did the second screen or middle screen looked a bit plugged up. As for the flasher I jus installed a new flasher relay.

Since I'm decking the halls at home later today I figured I deck out the voy for the holidays as well. I've been doing this for about 11 yrs on all my other car/trucks since my son was born. He likes it guess he knows I'm his real life Santa by now. Lol

Gave her a bath even though it was just above freezing, got rid of the salt residue.

Wow my pic did a 180 and yours a 90. Lol. Someday I'm sure we'll get it right. Mods any help.

Bat neck and taco neck. A theory i have is that it has something to do with the orientation of the phone when the picture is uploaded in relation to the orientation of when the picture was taken.

This is why I use my PC to upload pics 99% of the time - something about pics uploaded straight from the phone can get things wacky. And it isn't just this site, I've had other places (photobucket, facebook) screw it up too.

Back on topic - I still haven't installed my aux reverse lights on the Silverado nor have I put my USB ports in for the head unit. Same problem for both - I don't know where I'm going to stick them at yet. I did put the new 4x4 selector switch in the Trailblazer however... Good thing I was replacing it since I managed to destroy the original one when pulling it out of the dash (don't ask).

Just got rear ended in current snow. Twice. By same guy in late 90s Tahoe. No damage that I can see. Work is a stress right now so hoping nothing comes up!

That sucks, hope you told that guy to switch places and drive in front of you after that. Let him be somebody else' problem.

Haha I did tell him to stay the £#×& where he was so he wouldn't hit me again through the light. This was turning onto a bridge going down hill almost a mile. I just went. 4x4 ftw. Just noticed his insurance card is expired, should've called cops. At least I made it to work on time though. What a beast of a stop. Being on slippery hard pack must have helped save the body from damage. Doubt an SS bumper would have made it! Today those plastic trim pieces are functional!
