I put 3K miles on it but I don't think the oil was changed before we got it.
I just know that if I would have listened to it I would have been rebuilding a 5.3L before I would like to.

So, really, you don't know how many miles since the last oil change, if the OLM was reset, or if the oil was changed in the previous year. It's your truck, but I don't see that as an indictment of a failed OLM. :twocents:

Really didn't like 5k in my fogs. Got some 3five bulbs from TRS in 43k. And discovered there's a vibration whenever I brake or make a turn. The pedal doesn't shake but I can feel the car itself shake. Think it's the wheel bearing?

I am going to watch what the thing says but I am still going to change the oil at every 5K miles.

Checked my gas mileage and hand calculated I am getting 15.5 MPG but the gauge says 16.6 (typical lie-o-meter)

Installed MarkMc's 2.5" lift/level.
Those front springs were downright scary to compress as far as they had to go. Everyone that said "be careful" was not exaggerating.
A friend who stopped by to help used to be a GM tech and even he was nervous watching.

I now have some gnarley positive camber going on. Hopefully the alignment shop is able to get it fixed. I didn't take a look at how far the LCA's could be adjusted out. I trust there is enough.
I drove roughly 5 miles home last night and nothing exploded/broke/came off so I consider it a job well done.

EDIT: Here's some pics. The positive camber is pretty noticeable.

Should be plenty of room, you're not the first to have done that lift. It'll be fine!

Sprayed the headlight adjusters with wd since they won't move, which is strange since a, they're brand new, and b, that just doesn't seem right.

This actually happened over the wknd but I'm just now logging onto the forums... I actually took the beaSSt out of the garage and went on a trip to Woodward Ave in MI for the TBSS MI Nationals. I had theee time of my life up there! Woodward is just f*****n insane at night! I've never been around so many car enthusiasts and performance vehicles in my life!

Took the Silverado back to the dealer to get the fuel smell checked out. The fuel sending unit is corroded and leaking. They're fixing it at no charge since I just got it from them. They don't have a sending unit in stock though so the truck is staying there tonight and they'll fix it tomorrow when the sending unit arrives.

Although they should, it's nice they are taking care of it for you. Sucks it has to be outta your sight for the night tho.

As for what I did...I cleaned the shizzle out of it. Planning on clay barring, polishing, and waxing on Thursday when I am off of work. Sposed to be nice all week.

Finally fixed my ABS activation at a slow stop. I changed the speed sensors a few months ago, but that did not fix it. Today I took the sensors off the hub assembly and got in there with a dremel and cleaned all the rust accumulation off. Even checked the output of the sensors before and after with a scope, much improvement in the amplitude of the tone signal. No more ABS issue at slow stop!!

That's another great gm problem. I had the same issue when I replaced my hub. Turned out their were two steel washers on the sensor. Less than a millimeter of extra space was enough to mess with the output.

Unbeknownst and unannounced, this was shot when it was dark out and Chris was testing out Little Blazer's new cargo light.
It's late, but I think I got that.

I took the TB in to "the shop" for the first time since 2005...

Got brand new upper & lower ball joints and a 4-wheel alignment. The ability of this vehicle to coast now is unreal.
Ball joints were $350 at Napa. Alignment was $90, ball joint labor was $510, and misc parts were $40.
The tech said all adjustments were maxed out:

Got the Silverado back from the dealer. New sending unit is in place and no gas smell anymore. No cost to me, and a lifetime warranty on the part too.

LONG TIME NO POST!!!
Remember that build its gotten bigger and the hard stuff is winding down.
ls2 based 402
Lunati Crank
Manley Rods
CP CARRILO pistons
A vendor had set me up with some higher quality stuff, reason for manufacturer change on assembly.
Matt from TBSSowners has cut the cam and it being install and degreed
Only problem good ole work has put me back out of town for 1-2 months starting tuesday so the motor is again on hold but progress still being made. Even work has thrown this thing off the rails multiple times now I cant complain because its paying for the parts lol.

Delivered cam and hung out at the shop today.

Took it to a friend of mines shop and had him help me replace my thermostat. His son trains at my baseball academy and since he has all the tools and what not I told him I would trade him some training time for helping me.

Good thing (sort of) was we took out the AC line to get the thermostat out easier so he hooked up his machine to remove the r134a and we realized it was only half full. So when we hooked it back up it filled it back up.

Also put the truck up on the lift to check suspension parts and realized the passenger tie rod was going bad. Had both replaced in October so the shop that did them is fixing it tomorrow morning. Glad we saw that before too late.

Back up to operating temp and my AC is blasting ice cubes.

Got the new disconnect with awd sleeve regreased and rebuilt. Even installed new cv axles to go with the fresh disconnect. And of course during the removal of my old disconnect it snapped off inside my oil pan..... Big thanks to Regulator for selling me his spare disconnect.

Spent more money on it!

Ordered AVS in channel vent visors as the ones that came on the truck are stick on, two were totally broken (which the dealer removed for me), one I found is cracked, and the last is loose.
Also ordered Weathertech digital floor mats. The truck didn't come with any mats but the carpet is in excellent shape. I suspect maybe the previous owner had mats, bought a newer truck, and kept them lol.
Also I ordered the same 4L60E transmission kit I've put in my other transmissions, that brought my 98 4L60E back from the brink and I believe has helped my Trailblazer's transmission reach nearly 211k miles now without the slightest issue.

I've also been window shopping lift/level kits, wheels, tires, lights... Must control myself. My wallet already is screaming at me again.

How hard would you say installing that kit would be for a transmission noob? (was gonna say tranny noob, but that just sounds wrong )

It is moderate. Follow directions precisely. Lots of pieces and parts to keep track of. But it isn't like rebuilding a transmission, almost everything is within the valve body.

A lift makes it 10x easier. I used the lift at my buddy's work.

Paint works really well...the bowties on mine are held on with doublesided tape, just took them off, cleaned them well, painted them black and taped them back on.

Just fixed my awd by replacing the encoder motor. Just a note to all you awd guys...you can by a regular encoder motor. Just need to swap out the harness and the motor itself. The gear assembly is the same. And seem that the used ones for a 4x4 are in much better shape since they get cycled a lot less. I took mine apart and greased all the gears...should last the life of the truck.
