Me too. And they were a steal. Thanks for the advice, brother.HARDTRAILZ said:Glad they worked out!
Most likely I will end up with a fair bit of electrical equipment in the console so I will need as much internal space as possible plus I don't really have the access to woodworking tools as I would like to have. So that's two reasons I'm going this route plus the simple reason it's pretty much bolt in other then needing to cut down an already internally messed up oe console.mcsteven said:Ouch!! $323. Having had a couple of vehicles where I needed some switches, and my scanner, and sometimes a PA, I usually fabricated my own center console from plywood. Do a good finish, then wrapped in vinyl after padding it. It always outlasted the cars.
The nice thing that I liked when I did it myself was that most of the equipment went with me when I moved to a new car. When that happened, if it fit I could keep the majority of the custom console and just create the sides and or bottom to mount in the newer car. When I altered it to go into my Mustang I had enough space that I was able to make a hidden compartment. I had a hidden hinge and hidden remote pin to keep it closed. I just controlled the pin through an old camera shutter release cable. Push the shutter release button and the door dropped open.Darkrider_LS said:Most likely I will end up with a fair bit of electrical equipment in the console so I will need as much internal space as possible plus I don't really have the access to woodworking tools as I would like to have. I may need to talk to my buddy that runs a fab shop about building a similar unit to the havis. The problem with wood for this style of console is that the needed internal bracing to give it similar strength would eat up a fair bit of internal space. Not discounting the idea entirely since I could apply it to other rigs in my collection like my full size gmcs.mcsteven said:The nice thing that I liked when I did it myself was that most of the equipment went with me when I moved to a new car. While it worked for me, it might not be for everybody, and while you might not be skilled in woodworking, there might be others. Lots of carpenters around with nothing to do might take that job for a lot less. I'm betting that while you might not be able to build it, you could certainly draw up the plans.

When I spoke to them I saw where they were coming from, from their perspective, but I assured them nothing would escalate. They know that, but in a way I think they're covering themselves in case something bad did happen. Which it won't and they know that, but has to look good on paperwork you know? If they weren't out in the field there wouldn't be an issue of me being at home.mcsteven said:I don't know the whole situation, but it's only a few days till you can get home. You might consider taking the initiative of what you think your CO might recommend. PM sent.
Standard procedure unfortunately. Had that experience with a few Marines here and overseas. You can only take it one day at a time. Hope things get better brother.Capote said:Slept in it for hours today, everyone in my battery minus like 5 of us went to the field. So with nothing to do... naturally I slept. I have to be "watched" since my incident, so i'm not allowed to go home until they get back from the field on Thursday....bullshit. Being treated like a child.
I take all my vehicles there, I have never lost a vehicle to rust, just blown engines and trannies.Fire06 said:Rust Check that is what I get the my vehicles sprayed with every year to keep the rust at bay. Works good

No, no adjustments there. Unless your stock arms were all bent out of shape that is.Hatchet said:Does changing the upper control arms screw up the alignment? Ive got the new ones but don't have time for an alignment this week.
