My first 2 cars were given to me. The first was a v6 Camarones my uncle was going to scrap, I begged him for it and got it running good, but it would never pass inspection. My second was 91 Corolla. I had turned that into my mobile audio machine. My mother never cared what I did to the car as long as it 2 as reliable and safe.

First car I paid for I was 17. It was my grandmothers old Buick Regal with the 3800, paid her 750 which was the asking price. Then it was the 87 Jimmy and the 89 Blazer.

On a note more on topic I started doing the mounting of the lights and wiring. Just doing the rough work till it dries and I can sand and paint the rail.

I am also trying something a bit different for mounting the rail to the oem rack. Using blind u bolts to slide into the rails and 5/16-18 bolts to tighten it down. Still working on making them fit. It's about 7/8" in the oem rails and these are a hair bigger, but it think I can make it work.

Thought about washing it.. But decided that I was going to go snowmobiling in a couple days, and wasn't worth it. So I just cleaned the windows.

Not good. How bad did you damage the TB?

Fortunately it was a fairly small dent in the right rear fender arch. It is also fairly shallow so more then likely when i get to the stage of bed lining the lower body and wheel arches the bed liner will more then likely hide it. What happened is i was parking in the back driveway beside said S10 and due to the fact i have to maneuver around a Dodge 2500 parked in the parking lot directly across from my driveway im always having to come in at a slight angle near the S10 with maybe 2 inches to spare if i have the angle right. However due to the build up of snow and ice in the back alley where my driveway meets it which gets worse every time they plow the courtyard parking area and alley....the TBs rearend slid over when i was making that last minute adjustment to get around the S10 and i heard/felt a "Thump"...i then backed out of the parking spot and watched in the mirror as the TB once again made brief contact....got out and checked it and found said dent. It is so mild that a camera prob will not be able to pick it out against the paint...i only found it by rubbing my hand over the scuff in the film of dirt on the body.

That's not too bad. Definitely could have been worse.

Yea exactly....i was expecting big strips of blue paint transfer from the S10 and bigger dents when i got out to check. As said...once i bedline the lower body similar to what is done on Kyles (Hardtrailz) second TB it will be most likely hidden and probably leveled out by the bedliner.

I think Mike did his TB the same way with Rhino Lining. Which I think looks awesome.

So glad I bought my own ride at 18 and my parents could not say shit. Ripped the muffler off my 350 TPI Z28 and let exhaust dump right over rear axle. Loved that car!
After I graduated high school I bought this off my dad after payments ended since he has a work car provided by his job. But for now we've been sharing it. I love dumping money into this lol

Finally decided to go green with an intake filter from greenfilterusa.com. HardTrailz has a very convincing review thread about them. They are cheaper than K&N and the filter fit perfectly on my K&N 63-3062 Intake. P.S. Hood Struts are awesome!

Also, finally got around the replacing all of my steering wheel driver control buttons. What a pain in the A$$! Removing the air bag was no big deal, but the wiring on the buttons was not long enough to completely pull the button out of the steering wheel. Connecting the plug to the button was more difficult than removing it because I would try to position the plug and then push the button in until I heard a click (Repeat times 10 for each :hissyfit:). It took about an hour to remove the air bag, remove/replace all control buttons, and reinstall the air bag. Definitely worth it though, now I can see all of my buttons at night :wootwoot:

In case anyone needs a driver control button replaced, I have listed the part numbers below. They are made by Dorman and I found them the cheapest on Amazon.com.

-Fuel/Road 901-120
-Vehicle Setting/Reset 901-121
-Source/Program 901-122
-Seek/Volume 901-123

I installed my CB and antenna tonight.

The CB is a Uniden Bearcat 980 SSB. It is probably overkill for anything I need it for but like they say go big or go home. I am using a Jeep mount, Firestik fire ring antenna cable, and a 4' Firestik II.

I was playing with the built in SWR meter and was reading 8.5 and that gave me a bad feeling. After playing with it a bit I realized the antenna cable was a bit loose and would jump down to 1.5 if I moved it a bit. So I redid the antenna connection and it was reading a constant 1.0, I think its too good to be true so I will run it with an analog meter tomorrow. The weather comes in crystal clear, and I had picked up a few people while scanning. I need to go back and clean up some stuff and finalize some of the wiring as it was cold a snowing/raining while I was doing all of this.

Im still working on that light bar as well. I ran all of the wiring and had it all nice and pretty and zip tied and of course, in my infinite wisdom ran the wires to come out on the passenger side. No big deal, just spin the lights. 3 went perfect the last one was to tight and ripped the wiring. So while it is broken down for paint I am going to redo the wiring on the harness for the last light and put it back together.

Here is a shot of all the lights working, keep in mind it is only 3' from the wall so the beam pattern is crap.

replaced both front door window regulators,
drivers side, express down did not work all the time & was slow up and down compared to back windows,
pass. side was really slow down and almost stopped going up.
replaced steering wheel postion sensor,
2nd SWPS since new, first one repalced just under 2 years, this one almost 3 years.
going back tomorrow because, now my seat memory is non fuctional.
thinking they forgot to replug switch when putting door back together.:duh:

Have you had any issues with your fuel gauge sensor acting up? There is a recall out for that.

Installed the 06-09 rear wiper finally but I have one question does it normally sit this tall off of the back of the liftgate?

Looks good. Yeah, that is exactly how my rear wiper blade sits.

You should go ahead and delete that rear glass handle

Delete? I haven't heard of that. Is there a thread or can you link me to what would go there instead?

Thanks

Tuned the CB antenna, sitting around 1.1 swr on the low end and 1.7 on the high end. I need to open the radio a d adju set some pots to get the wattage up to the legal 4 on the am band. Listened to a guy in North Dakota in the oil fields, freaking insane.

Also received some offroadtb.com decals.

Took off the PCM and checked the intake manifold bolts. They were loose, so I tightened them all up a little. No way in heck to get a torque wrench in there without a major disassemble, so i gave it my best guess torque - should be pretty close. Hopefully this will solve the random whistling that sounds like a major vac leak that I can hear sometimes for several seconds while driving after letting off the throttle. Time will tell...

I had to put a new wiper on today, a Hybrid something. That's what I had on before I broke it and they seem to be really good.

Last week I replaced a burned out low beam. I put in a set of Sylvania Silver Star Ultras. After I saw the difference with the fogs looking more yellow I went out and bought Sylvania Silver Star 880's to replace the fogs with, couldn't get Ultras. Here's some daytime pics of how the look. Kinda hard in the pic to see the Hi Beam is still yellow. I won't bother to change those tho. I like the new brightness

That's exactly how I'm set up right now, as soon as one of the high beams go they're getting SS Ultras too. I plan to go with 893s in the fogs - same plug and bulb type, but 38 watts. Should be a slight difference. Looks good on yours, you'll love your new Ultras.

Thanks, ya I like it a lot. Wish I would have known about the 893's. I will do Ultras in the hi beam too but only if one oem goes bad.

Pulled my headlights back off to do some tinkering over the next couple of days, also started researching the causes for a P0171 as I've got that as a pending code. Noticed a sporadic high/rough idle the Monday and today. :book:

Yeah HIDs are taking a back seat to other things on my list that need to be done first. So when my headlight bulb went out recently I replaced all of them with the SS bulbs and they have a much better color temperature and are somewhat brighter. Much more brighter and you'd need to go projectors anyway since you'd start blinding oncoming traffic.

I keep kicking around the idea of waiting till i get projector headliights (anzos most likely unless i get some made by my buddy) to install HIDs. I wouldn't be surprised if i stayed with the Silverstars in my OE headlights with a relay harness though either since i will be adding LED lights to the truck anyway.

I had silverstars and for $20 I was not real impressed, but spending $35 on the VVME HID was worth it by far.

FWIW---I never get brighted with HID in stock housing even lifted.

Did you do the cap mod or drl killer mod?

Side note here is a pic of the new steering wheel cover and floor mats. Also visible is the cell phone holder i got recently as well clipped to the center vents. That placement gives me a pretty good idea as to where the phone will be once i get a pro clip setup.

Good to know! Im planning on using the vent location one they make for my cell phone and use the one that mounts near the hvac unit with a relocation plate to mount my satellite radio receiver near the headunit.

I have the center vent mount. Originally used it for my Garmin Streetpilot (the old bulky style ones) Held that thing nice and solid when going over bumps and curbs, where others lost their grip and sent the thing to the floor. It now holds my Note 2 securely, even after I also picked up the 6" vertical extension plate (so I can run a dash cam app, and turn my phone landscape) although there is some wobbling in the video when I hit pot holes or speed bumps

Most likely i will be just using the center vent one and phone mount as is so i can run my Samsung Galaxy Rugby LTE in landscape mode and use the Torque App as an aux gauge cluster to monitor various settings on the truck until i pick up a 3 gauge pillar pod and a couple Areoforce Interceptors and a Trans temp gauge.
