What bolt????

One of the thermostat housing bolts. Sheared off flat. I would have done it myself but don't have all my tools here yet. Still being shipped from Texas.

Didnt see my car for the last two days :( Busy with school. But ordered The Blue Fusion Bluetooth kit for 29.00 on Amazon.

Drove it to work so it can go to the 4x4 Jamboree this afternoon

My lift arrived today in the mail! Wooot woot! Now need to.find the install time and wheel spacers.

Went out today and the exhaust sounds different, more growly with less drone

Oh, it's been soooo long since I've seen this...

After noticing my rear passenger tire was low, I took a closer look yesterday after work and found this...

20130921_084632_zps381c378c.jpg

Luckily I have one of those tire plug kits handy, so this morning I broke out the tools and pulled it out.

20130921_085508_zps7c6a8f11.jpg

After cleaning the puncture up a bit, I tried inserting one of the plugs, but the damn handle broke off. Damn Harbor FAIL!! :hissyfit:

20130921_091724_zpsceb6774c.jpg

The tire completely depressurized, which made it much more fun. Ended up using the head of my channel locks to push down on the snapped off tool and eventually got the plug inserted. Waited a little while for the rubber cement to do it's thing, filled the tire with the (weak) air compressor on my battery booster, then went for a drive. It seems to be holding now, I'll check the pressure again later after the tires cool off.

RH motor mount. I knew it was going too easy when I raised the RH side of the motor and it stopped just shy of clearing the mount. RH axle shaft hits frame but I pulled the shaft enough to gain clearance and saw this. For the life of me I can't see it now sonce the axle is out and I can't feel any areas where it has cracked, luckily the seal is further inside but looks like an overhaul before winter. Must be a nice clean break and hopefully it can go another week.

Just tightening the screw didn't stop the leak? :rotfl:

Seriously, I've had my Envoy since 9/16/2002 and never had a tire problem until the last two months. One screw and one nail. Thankfully neither went in deep enough to cause a leak.

I see that every 4 days or so... But the thrill doesn't last long...

After soaking the UCA bolts with PB Blaster for several days I decided to give the one troublesome-looking bolt a quick try. Truck was still on the ground so I didn't have a lot of clearance, but I stuck a 21mm box wrench on it and the bolt turned that little bit I had room to swing. Good sign it may actually come off OK this week :wootwoot:

Sprayed all the bolts again (and got some on my face from sprayback lol), will do the same tomorrow and Monday, then hopefully get them replaced *fingers crossed*

Two days ago I noticed my drivers rear tire low and found a nail in it. Took it to walmart (this is the only thing I will have done at walmart service wise) and got it plugged for $9.50. Cheapest place around here for tire repairs.

:raspberry: I woulda tried that first, but the washer that's on it was half on the tread, and half in the channel

The kit I bought was $5, and you get 5 plugs. (hopefully never have to use it THAT many times) If you've got the right tools and stuff at home (most importantly, an air compressor), the convenience can't be beat. But $10 is a pretty good deal too.

It has been so long since it's gone to the right, maybe it forgot where to stop. :rotfl:
(actually, I think mine always went that far)

I'm just excited that I won't be using my trip meter as my fuel gauge anymore!

well not my GMT as well all know where she is at... but I do have a GM vehicle that I DD

did some visual mods to my Grand Prix.. and my, what a huge difference the subtle changes make... after browsing on the grand prix forums when I first signed up, I always read the threads about polished stock tips... My, I cannot believe the difference in appearance with them polished... I also did some more Plasti Dipping on the lower rear bumper, and lower front bumper, and the stock grilles... Front lower bumper needs to grow on me as I don't like it as much as I thought I would... Then I prepped her for the up and coming winter, and gave her a good was and wax... I love that this damn near 13 year old car, looks almost as good as it did brand new... stock paint is still holding strong and sheens like no other when polished up... onto the pix...

side by side comparison

Plasti-dip came out good. I like my Impala as well...just nicely designed and built cars.

Not sure why standard brake work makes a truck high-maintanence:confused::undecided::confused:

Why would you think that the tools would rust or mildew? That garage is 10 times nicer than mine and I never have any issues of the sort. I guess if i threw tools on the ground by the garage door where water seeps in in hard rains i could have issues, but that garage makes me jealous.

Being a smartass over the fact the brakes were long over due for repair work.

Judging by how bad the brakes were and the fact she knew something wasnt right, I would assume there are a few other things that could be done. Standard maintenace becomes high maintenance! Lol.

Filled up the TB with 93 and noticed my awesome MPGs. :2thumbsup:

What gears do you have? How much city driving? Hoping a tune would bring that up some...:undecided:

Well he is in the mountains so mpg will average lower there than somewhere with less extreme terrain.
