Guessing you did the calipers yourself and skipped the brackets? How are you finding the treatment (paint or whatever) to be holding up?

Paint showed chipping after a year, its just auto zone $20 stuff. the brackets are high heat black. just added contrast really. Im sure if you order g2 you will get better results. I still haven't touched up my rears. I did overhaul the fronts though.

Now I can fit my big gulp in.

Yo, im doing the same thing today! :rotfl:

I gutted that thing and, since the hole was pretty big, Im trying to do something similar. Anyone with other Ideas??? Pretty much i have a giant open rectangle to play with right now. I might just cover it, since i like to drive with my hand place in the center console. Any materials best to fix this???

I put my arm on it, doesn't bother me. For $3 and a less jacked up lid, it's worth it

In the fading light of day I grabbed my tools so I could replace the rear shocks with Bilsteins. This is the first time i'm replacing shocks; ever!

My son didn't want to help but my daughter did. Though he did grab the ramps and guide me to get the back up on them.

Got first out in 5 minutes, top bolt in with the new one and now I try to compress it with my floor jack but the tire won't let the jack line up well. Dear daughter suggests my little bottle jack. BINGO! A couple of minutes later the bottom bolt is in and I have it torqued down. The other side goes even smoother.

According to the patented Roadie butt dyno  the ride does not feel as floaty. Still got the struts to do but I'll leave that to my mechanic. A little bit of concern about that spring.

Just played with the old shocks. One feels like it's dual rate, easy to compress the first 1/2 of its travel and stiffer the rest. The other shock has a consistent stiffness to it.

Checked all fluids, level and smell. Changed the oil. Greased joints. Checked tire pressure. Got everything needed to detail, inside and out. Don't know how much of that I'll get done , though. Supposed to be rain in the am here, and the Florence meet is tomorrow. Been slacking, but at least cleaned the clutter out of the inside.

I have a problem with my custom built headlights :frown:

Somehow I'm getting dead bugs INSIDE the lenses! I was cleaning off bug guts from the front of the truck this evening and found gnat carcasses lying in the bottom of the passenger headlight near the turn signal. Driver side had some too, though not near as many.

Great. Why are they getting in there? I know the covers aren't in the back due to the HID wiring but what is attracting gnats to fly inside my headlights  And how am I going to get them cleaned out of there :worried:

Could very well be the covers not being there, i slit an "X" in the rubber cover and slid the plugs through

 That's crazy, of all the things to worry about with that mod, I would have never guessed something like that. I'm guessing the bugs wanted to see how you wired up your turn signals, so they snuck inside for a closer look, then forgot how to get back out... :raspberry:

Although now, that issues is in the back of my head for mine. :ugh:

I don't know what the Morimoto H1 ballast connectors look like, but the Morimoto D2S connectors are at a right angle to the bulb. When I did some test fitting, they didn't stick out from the back of the headlight much (although the reflector bowl wasn't snapped in at the time) I might have to get creative to finish this mod.

H1 stick straight out, no right angle. I'll have to play with the covers. I hope I can use some air to blow the corpses out of there.

Maybe one of those little vacuums that are designed for keyboards would be able to get in there and suck em out... ...

I have the same problem with getting dead stink bugs inside of my stock headlights. The only opening are those little exhaust outlets, and I have no idea how they squeeze inside those, given the shape and dumbness of the stinkbugs.

I hope you got rid of any rust that was there and treated it. If not all you did was seal in the rust so you can't see the damage.

Yup, the only places thats rusted are the exhaust pipes and spare tire, everything else was cleaned and coated last year when i bought the truck
But my spare tire cable is done lol can't lower it, might just cut it off and run a centre mount dual tip cause i need to replace the cat and muffler soon

Got up early to wash my truck, and went to a huge truck cruise. I would estimate 400-500 trucks. Sadly I didn't get and pics, my phone was acting up but I'm going to be searching for people to post pics up over the next week or so.

Found a couple pics that kind of show how big it was. Didn't find any of my truck yet lol.

First pic is some of the line of trucks pulling in, and then the parking lot where we met at. For over an hour that line was continuous with trucks pouring in.

Shot of a bunch of trucks already there, as well as the long ass line of trucks waiting to get in.

I looked at it in the driveway and thought "damn your dirty" and then just kept pushing the lawn mower.

was bored at home so I detailed the beaSSt again!:crazy:.. all she does is sit in the garage, but dust still gets on her a bit, then I received a check in the mail from my escrow surplus on my mortgage payment.... so cashed that check, took the beaSSt out for a joy ride, and filled her to get ready for the track Wednesday........

wait for it.....

NO I will not be racing her lol... I only have 170 miles on the crate motor, so im just driving her out there to get some miles on her to break her in.. the track is about a 45 minute to an hour drive one way, so that will get her close to 500 miles for me...

and interesting layout on the stripes kjkim93... I don't think ive seen them placed that way before... nice and unique
