(I know, the picture on the left are actually the rear set. I forgot to take a picture of the front set before they went on. Oops.)
Wasn't too bad. I ended up installing the Moog shock mounts, too. the OEM shock mounts were actually in pretty good shape, but there was a little wear on the metal (under one of the mount bolts), and the spring insulator was compressed/melted/gooed in some places around the top of the spring. The Moog upper shock mounts came with upper mount nuts (I think), but they didn't look as beefy as the OEM ones, so I stock with those, which were in good shape.
+1 on the Pitman puller for the shock tower arm. Also, we did it by only removing the lower control arm strut bolt (the 24mm one), and the upper shock mounts. No ball joint/UCA removal necessary.
To reinstall, we put the strut (seen on the right, w/o the strut arm), into the strut tower and hand tightened the two nuts to leave a little play.
Then, we put the strut arm on the LCA mount and put a jack under it. Using the jack to raise the steering assembly, we guided the strut onto the shock yoke, and popped the yoke bolt in.
Took a while, but it was a good night. After 3 late nights in the garage, I'm ready to hang in and not get dirty tomorrow night. Took it for a spin, and it felt great, but I'm going to have some new rubber put on and an alignment done in the next 4-5 days to tighten everything up.
Going to ATL for a concert on Saturday (taking the gf's car, a 2008ish Civic). The TB isn't quite daytrip ready, yet.
