Won an ebay auction for a mini 327 elm. $5.50 shipped. Took about a week of bidding to get one that cheap. I also downloaded the torque app. Looks like a fun toy for $10 total.

Added a transmission cooler. Already have the gm conversion fittings. I mounted it the first time and found I was hitting the front grille cover by 1/8 inch. A little more massaging and it went in. Still need to acquire transmission hose, and some more trans fluid. Apparently Walmart can't order more of something if you need it. So I have bought their entire restock twice now. Once more will do it (5 gallons, nice to have extra). I used the 4589 long cooler.

1. Should I add in a spin on filter, if so plumb in line or parallel to cooling circuit (making a clogged filter or pressure drop null)?

2. Is there a better way to split an 11/16 barbed fitting than just plumbing section tees?

If you put in another filter, but put it in parallel, what's the point of it?

The filter in the pan is probably just fine.

the fluid will only pass through the path of least resistance in this scenario

Took me a second to realize you're in Sweden. My first thought was damn, why are you taking pictures at 90mph, and my second was wow, that truck idles really low at 90.

I wonder what it is that keeps my throttle body so clean. I've had the TB for >60k miles and have only cleaned it two or three times. I never cleaned it because of an issue, but simply because I felt like I should. It was never as dirty as some of the ones I've seen on here, including the one in this thread a few posts ago. I just use Fram air filters, changed about twice per year.

I think it's our environment down here. Mine has only NEEDED to be cleaned once, right after I bought it ~40K miles ago. I've cleaned it twice since then just because I was doing something else under there (DIY CAI, and changing spark plugs/coil packs) and it had hardly anything on it. :twocents:

I figured that would render the filter into more of a bypass type. Filtering a small bit if it each time through the system. I just don't trust that filter that is already there and the magnifies seen too small to really cut it. Might just do an inline magnefine, definitely easier.

Wow thank you lol. They are the 22's, and now Tony is talking about possibly making 24" repo's available. Might have to upgrade to those in a few years.

Jrss pics or it didn't happen!

Yup he has a thread on TBSS Owners right now asking what people think. A majority of them are saying no, or only for full size platforms, but there are a few people including myself that would run these. I actually contacted the company directly a few months before I bought these but got no response.

I still need to finish the downpipe the wastegate piping + wait for more parts money to appear :undecided: I need about $200 still.

Just a thought, but have you considered a Denali front cover? My thoughts are with the opening in the center, if you could tuck the piping up higher and enlarge the opening in the Denali cover, it would only show the IC. Not sure if it's even possible with the framework but just a thought. Either way....I think it looks freakin sick. :salivate:

More yesterday than today, but replaced rear shocks and springs with bilsteins and Tahoe z71s, installed taillight guards and bull bar, and learned that advance auto gave me the wrong differential gasket... After I had drained the fluid of course...once the correct one shows up, I'm good to go finally. Nori just need to find out why it sounds likes turbine spinning up after a cold start and throws code p0411 after I just replaced the o2 sensor.

Going to 24's bruh? Gotta see the EXT on 24's

There was a guy, with a blue EXT, can't remember if it was on here, or the OS, who put 24"s on his. Looked much better with the longer wheel base, compared to the shorter ones. He had a good bit of rubbing at full lock though. Can't remember if he was lowered, or planned to :undecided:

Replaced wipers- Bosch Icon

Tried to replace the rear wiper... forgot that the AutoZone "factory replacement" doesn't fit... the blade is too small. I guess there will be a dealer visit in my future.

Are there any beam style wipers that fit the rear?

Yes, 16" rainx lattitude. But, they don't work that well on the rear. It leaves "gaps" when it wipes. I use them on the front and the rainx weather beater on the rear.

Now at 197k km, I've put 27k km on my truck since buying it last July. 3rd oil change should be around end of this month. As winter got milder I started to notice some inner tire wear on both fronts and had been wanting to get some time to inspect.

Inspected today, both ball joints are shot, driver's side tie rod is in much worse shape than passenger side (pass. side has been replaced once before it seems), and pass. side sway bar link is snapped off on the upper side. Definitely accounts for the more "thunky" ride I've been noticing.

I'll spend some time searching threads on my own after this post, but if anyone cares to weigh in with recommendations for brand/source for the Ball joints, tie rods and sway bar links, I'd be happy to save some legwork.

In Canada, have easy access to Napa, Benson, Carquest, and AC Delco/GM....not completely against getting stuff shipped from online sources but UPS will get an immediate rejection due to an ongoing dispute.

Thx

Lucky you have smaller tires. My jack goes to that too, but now I can't get it high enough anymore. Need to add rock sliders to use the high lift.

You can also crib the jacks to get more lift.As for cribbing, I did a similar thing to remove a transmission with transfer case attached, worked nice because of the odd shape of the assembly and I could just sneek out one 2x4 at a time to lower it to the floor...Mike.

Yikes. I went with Moog all around (sway links and ball joints), and took mediocre care of them. Just inspected them last weekend after about 20k since their last lubing. Boots were in good shape, except for 1 which was torn and hanging on by the grease. But I flushed the old grease out of them and new grease in. I've got about 45k on them now and they're very stiff, so I'm very happy with the way they've lasted.

I sourced them from RockAuto.com, not sure about their CAN shipping policies.

Good luck.
