That's a ron davis 2" radiator, the fan shroud is specific to the radiator

I had pcms fans before this, I believe they are 1" smaller in diameter

Picked up an alternator...hope to post here tomorrow that I changed out an alternator.

Thanks to my neighbor and a handy mallet I can say today I changed out an alternator. :wootwoot:

Had hastily replaced the battery earlier in the week and left the cover in the back seat so I re-installed that as well.

So what's the first mod gonna be?

I'm thinking the roof rack is going to go....but I know the first $$$ mod is a tune, there is a GIANT difference between my 'voy and his truck. The TB hauls ass but it's not as responsive so that's one mod I would agree he needs. Then he can keep up with the "mommy van"

It's actually kind of basic for an LTZ to be honest. It has a sunroof lol OH and it has mud flaps behind the rear wheels and front wheels which makes me kind of jealous lol. It has the 3.73 gears and the G80 locker. It is fun to drive, I feel like i'm actually driving a typical car and not an SUV, but the again I have the LWB that i'm used too. It feels like the TB sits lower to the ground than the voy, but it could just be the fact that i'm vertically challenged too.

What it doesn't have that most LTZ's do have is a bose stereo system...other than that it is pretty much loaded.

My Valentine's day gift

the picture is blurry but you get the idea lol

12" kicker comp sub, amp, and box. Nothing special but a lot more thump than bose lol

Finally got my power steering fixed yesterday. Also wired up a 12v switched outlet inside the dash to power my tablet install.

Your pics are making me envy you. I just got my iPhone interface for my radio, and 2 new speakers to replace a blown one I have. Not to mention all the rest of the stuff I want to do. However I don't have a garage and the temp is 19F. So I am sitting here staring at a pile of parts wishing it was warmer out.:frown:

It only got up to 75 today and tomorrow its really gonna be cold, 65. I actually thought about NOT wearing my flip flops today it was so cold.

Incidently I put the roof rack back on. It looked hokey with the bumps all over from where it mounted.

If you lift your truck the bumps aren't as noticeable.

Please don't say you replaced the trashcan :hissyfit: It would have been a perfect time to delete it.

I finally pulled my truck out of the garage under his own power today! First time I have attempted a transmission replacement and thankfully all went well.

Did some speed sensitive brake squeak troubleshooting today. Jacked up the rear end and let the wheels free spin in drive, no squeaking. Checked the front backing plates, nothing bent out of place there. Took off the front pads, the shims had some caked up dirt in them, I thought that wasn't allowing the pads to back off properly. Cleaned those out and re-greased the appropriate spots, then went for a drive with the windows down. All nice and quiet now.

Car Max must have brake-cleaned all the lube off because I know I lubed the slides when we did your brakes. I'm very anal about using lube!

 I remember that. I know I'm hard on brakes, but I found it hard to believe I could wear through some pads THAT quickly. Only other thing it coulda been (that CarMax wouldn't notice while they were trying to get paid) was stuck pads.

It started doing it a few weeks prior to the visit though, off and on. Didn't pay attention to whether or not it was after a sharp turn either way and maybe the offending pad backed off a bit more than usual. The slide pins were fine, plenty of grease still on em, but the pads were gunked up on the ends where they sat in the shims.

I know as I write this it will cause some disagreement, but here goes anyhow.
I don't grease the exposed slides on my brake jobs. The reason I have for this is that grease collects dirt. And sometimes that dirt will cause things to stick more than slide. However I do make sure to remove all the rust between the caliper frame and the shim. I have also been known to give that area a quick coat of paint to prevent more rust. Just my opinion, and we all know what those are like.:lipsrsealed:

:undecided: Valid point. We did my brakes in July, and I noticed the chirping around new years. We'll see what happens, and if the chirp comes back, I may clean out the shims, leave them ungreased, and see how that goes. All I know is, I'm gonna be more diligent about checking my pad condition, since I have a bad history of getting down to the rotors, and needing new ones as everyone at that mini meet noticed... :banghead:

Changed the remaining 4 (of 8) spark plugs, on the passenger side. Bought a complete set of wires and plugs back on 12/19/2011 and immediately changed out the drivers-side. 1st round took me quite a while to get the stock plugs and wires off so I waited until I had a bit more free time to change out the notorious set. Took me a little over a year but I'm now running 8 [new] plugs and wires.

Changed the oil in my moms Yukon. Also added some brake fluid in hopes of making it stop complaining. Seems to have worked so far!

i have to do mine in march to put my new 80lb/hr injectors in....how bad was it? what was the hardest part?. thanks!

Well I'd say the hardest part for me was getting the bracket for the PCM wiring out and maneuvering the intake manifold out from it's position. It at least took me some extra time. Pretty straight forward all the way with the rest though, I'll put up some more photos in another thread. I was missing those kind of pictures before I started the job.

Great thank you I really appreciate it. I will be swapping in a new PCM and engine harness so that might help with maneuvering the stock pcm

Well I dropped Phantom(The truck) off at the paint shop where he will be for the next week or so.

When he comes back I won't have to worry about the clear coat peeling, and then I can enjoy taking him to the car wash!
