Added a new wideband gauge (bottom) to help with more precise HPT tuning.

Looks good. Where did you get that shifter? I like the carbon fiber insert. I've often considered getting the SS aluminum one, but there is really no aluminum in the interior, so to me it just seems out of place. I like that one

Checked oil level today, at 64% oil life left on the DIC, 5000km since last change, oil level is at the bottom of the crosshatched area :frown: .

Used the Envoy for moving trailers today. Sled trailer to unload the Ski Doo and utility trailer to take a load of leaves to the dump.

This is what was done to Phantom today!

It's different...lol. Sticks out further than the stock one, but it looks hella better. It will take some time getting used to like most mods. Hopefully it works as good or even better than it looks.

haha don't tell him that! If I saw it in person I would be confused because the 370's never came with the new wiper.

Gettin ready for the snow. I checked over the winter tires today, Toyo Geo Open Country, awesome snow n ice traction and are quiet too. I've been in a lot of deep snow with the sled trailer and never been stuck, gotta love the G80. I bought these tires in November 08 and it looks like they will be used for the 5th snow season. They look pretty good for the age but starting to show some wear. I wish I could find some used 17" Envoy chrome rims for use with these tires, I hate the look of the black steel wheel. Maybe hubcaps this year....dunno. I'll wait until snow is forecasted and then change them over.

I notice that people who complain about ABS and Traction control/Stabilitrak always coming on in the snow simply don't have good traction because of shit tires with no grip. If ABS and Traction control/Stabilitrak are to function properly you have to have proper traction to begin with.

or if you could find some full solid covers :undecided: :twocents:

I like the chrome trim ring idea with GMC chrome center caps (like on a sierra's), I wonder if they will fit these 17" rims, anyone know if the bolt pattern is the same on a sierra as the Envoy? Even just the center cap would improve the looks.

sorry, don't think it's the same bolt pattern.
thats why other guys buy adapter's to go to "truck rims" for a wider selection of rims

Replacement axles arrived at 7PM, just in time to get the kids ready for bed. Took some polish and cleaned up the bearing surface and is nice and shiny...the flash gave it a satin appearance but is nice and smooth.

I was thinking the same thing today, my snows are on the same rims as yours. I just went out and checked with a chev centre cap and yeah it would look good but K1500 bolt pattern radius is way bigger.

Replaced the right rear taillight circuit board. Saw that I had a brake light out today, upon looking a the board, I found that the socket for the brake light was melted badly. Luckily I had an extra on hand.

Should have replaced this side when I did the other last year

:lipsrsealed: Replaced a blown DDM fuse, and performed some surgery on the polarity switcher for my power folding mirror control module. A couple of the push connections in the driver's door came loose when I took the panel off for some poking around, and I mis-remembered what went where. The resulting short popped one of the diodes, rendering the power folding feature dead. :hissyfit: :banghead:

Changed front brake pads.

I found that the old pads each had 2 wear indicators, so there were 8 all together. Anyone ever seen this before? I thought it was a bit strange.

I finally got Mat to put the new CPAS in for me...the old one had oil just pouring from the connector. Unfortunately it didn't fix my sputtering/stalling issue, but on a plus note...the money wasn't wasted because it was obviously bad. I had no codes with it either. Maybe my PCM is retarded?

Point well made!! I just would have thought with the amount of oil in it, it should have thrown a code. Although it did throw a code back when Mat first put the engine restore in the truck. I figured everything was hunky dory because the code for the CPAS went away as soon as I cleaned up the screens.

But then again it doesn't or shouldn't surprise me. It seems like the truck never wants to throw a code for anything that I would have thought would warrant a code. Definitely keeps me on my toes

Here's the thing about codes... Stuff can be not quite right but still close enough to spec or not fall out of spec often enough so the computer is still happy. Partially plugged cat won't trip a code if the little bit of exhaust that still gets through is still getting cleaned up. Leaky FPR causing momentary rich conditions or hard starts won't throw a code as it is transient and "corrected" soon enough. Oozing CPAS can still operate the cam adjustments and stuff, so the computer again is happy. etc etc... Almost requires a system to go completely whack for it to trip a code.

Makes complete sense. Its just frustrating for new people still trying to learn the scope of things. I will get the hang of it eventually. If it wasn't for all the issues I have had with the truck, I don't think I would have learned what I have from everyone here. I would have learned a good bit from just reading but the knowledge I get from experience is also great! Now im going to go relax a bit before I go all mushy on GMTN and declare a group hug lol

Thank you again Sparky.

Took the envoy on it's maiden voyage with the SS rear. I think it may need some minor attention though and I will address this in another thread. :undecided:

My new tail shaft seal arrived today. Should be able to get it installed this weekend hopefully, and fingers crossed that it solves the problem and the transfer case survives long-term!
