Another day in the office farm. Not much going on today except imaging paperwork for our shop.

Killing time, waiting on a relay load, and there is a harbor freight within walking distance, so I added this to my tool box. Always wanted one.

I see a Volvo VNL Steering wheel under your new toy. Which model?

We got 58 Volvos in our fleet, All have the D13, a mix of 300 (daycabs), 400 (micro sleepers), 600 (full sleeper), and two 700 (BIG sleepers). All Automatics, all making good money. I looked at one of our drivers payroll last night.. I was shocked to see 2500 average take home a week, for a company guy.

Just got done reading an article about how some CDL truck drivers are loosing there license. Happened in Missouri some years ago, cant believe its still happening. @Beacon , see your from PA, does this affect you or anyone you know.

Correction: North Carolina

YouTube Link

Other than that, cleaned out a truck for a company driver starting on Monday. Getting ready for the big permit push we have for next week, and again in November. Trucks are an expensive beast. Its hard to believe theres still money to be made at the end of the year.

@TollKeeper That's news to me, I would think, with the so called and mislabeled "driver shortage" that companies would let these drivers use their trucks to re-test. and other than the hassel of testing and paper work, no big deal to get a new license.

Oh joy of joys, got home and the sewage ejection pump has failed. Guess what I spent the next 2 hours doing. Then opening up all the windows, so I can suck all that expensive AC stinky ass air out of the house, to replace it with fresh hot and humid air. Grr!

Back to work today. Same old, same old. Went to town this am to help my wife at her store. Converting a large closet into a change room. Did some more sanding and mudding. Got the same tomorrow. Went back to acreage and attempted to beat the rain. Got my 10 year old on the riding mower for another lesson. Proud to say my kid can drive! Keeps her head up, looks where she wants to go, steers there and is cognizant of obstacles.

Finishing a night shift, sleep a bit then go to Costco. Tomorrow, going to the NY State Fair. Should be interesting since I've never been to one outside my area. Or it'll be the same crap of old unsafe rides run by underqualified teenagers, greasy overpriced food, long line ups at go huts and displays of penned up farm animals.

What day is it? I have taken a couple days off work this week for closing, packing, and moving stuff. So... yeah ok it is Friday. At work, then dropping a pickup load of crap at the house, then packing more for the big move day tomorrow. How we got so much packed into this apartment I have no idea...

Decided to see if one of these spare TNR navigation unit's will work in my Pontiac Aztek. Surprisingly, the 15800000 non lux worked. I was kinda shocked because the way I understand, lux was pre 2003. But my 15800001 powered up with no sound.

Time to call a dealer and arrange for a VIN clear. Hopefully they don't rape me. Still need to get the GPS antenna and a Bluetooth module.

Long, busy day for me. Got up for a day in the yard. Started with clearing the gutter on my screened in patio, it was full of leaf litter and twigs. Did a good bit of tree trimming, and stripped some leaves for the compost pile. One of the large trees close to the house needed some lower branches cut, so I could walk under it without needing to bend over.

On one of the branches I cut, I found what turned out to be a huge avocado. I found a couple in the yard in the last couple of days, and thought some jerk had tossed them over the fence. This being my 3rd summer in the house, never seen these before. But, since the compost pile is in an area over the root system for this tree, it kinda makes sense.

Got the yard mowed and trimmed, and after that, I was spent. Got cleaned up, had some lunch and got a nap in. Poked around the truck a bit, and found out I need a new radiator. Damnit! :hissyfit:

Moved 95% of my crap to the house yesterday. Wow. How did we cram so much into that little apartment?

We have boxes EVERYWHERE and I am not entirely sure where half of anything is, but despite how much is just lying around I'm amazed at the amount of space there is.

I need to get the dryer hooked up. The dryer vent connection in the wall of the laundry room is a couple inches above the dryer vent outlet, but the room is too small to have the dryer out far enough to use a bit of flex tubing to hook them up (door to the garage won't open if the dryer isn't basically against that back wall). The laundry room is just not thought out too well the more I look at it. Short term Im going to knock the drywall out around that pipe and adjust it, long term I may redo the room layout. The hole I need to make will be behind the dryer anyway so you'll never see it.

A few other things need attention quickly too, like trimming all the bushes and trees back from the house since they have overgrown over the last several years of this place having been empty. The guy who fixed up the house and sold it to us ripped out several things outside already that were really bad.

I have a list of projects again!

Loading up the motorhome for a 1 week drive through Pa.(one State away) to see some points of interest. Any Pa. members out there to advise me on some "must see" nature or auto related stuff?

After a tiring weekend, just chillaxing a bit today, then going to pick up a used garage door opener to replace my ancient broken one. At least I'll finally have a remote!

Was just about to head into town today for some more mudding/sanding at the store. Looked over at the 3500, which was sitting all cockeyed. Oh nice, a flat tire. Ripped it off, smashed my head in the process, swore a lot and took it into town to get a patch. The tire shop never charged me for it, says we send enough work there way. Found a small hole from a rock.
