Went to Verizon today to exchange my main set top box, as it required a hard reset once a week ever since I got it. Being off all week, finally had enough time to clear the contents. Everybody and their mom was there today, so took about an hour to get taken care of. While the guy was processing my order, there was a brown out and his computer shut down . Battery backup anyone? Really?
Had to wait for his machine to reboot, and when it did, the order he was processing got screwed up. So he had to call it in, and have somebody fix it. Got my new shiny box home, plug it in and let it activate. It asks if I want to import my old saved settings and I say yes. After 30 minutes of doing seemingly nothing, I reboot the thing. All my settings appear to be imported, so good. Go to check the scheduled DVR shows for tonight, and I get a message saying this box doesn't have DVR capabilities, and I have to upgrade. Their automated phone system is doing nothing but pissing me off. Really don't want to have to drive back over there and wait in line again if I don't have to...
