Welcoming my potential new corporate overlords. My company had a purchase offer made to the company which currently owns us today.

Of course there are rumors swirling all about, I already am at least intelligent enough to mark half of them as pure conjecture/falsehood right away. "They're gonna buy us and shut us down." It's not worth hundreds of millions just to take out a competitor which holds an advantage in an area you don't. "They'll make this place better." Maybe, maybe not. I'm not holding my breath, I figure it'll be just the same. "They probably already have people coming through just dressed plain to see what's up." Not likely, the sale is pending regulatory approval and it would be foolish to allow the people who at this moment are still our competitors walk around and potentially see some trade secrets.

Reading some GlassDoor reviews on my potential new corporate overlords. Their system will not necessarily apply to us as the current expectation is for us to continue operations as a stand-alone business, meaning same crap different bean counters, and likely some changes to key benefits such as insurance.

Then I read this one remark listed under con in a review: "potential work hazards if not following safety measures.

Seriously? "I don't want to follow best safety practice, and now I feel unsafe." That made my night. You may as well exclaim "I didn't wear my work-required steel toe boots and I dropped something on my toe, why is this place so dangerous!?"

Everyone else was sweeping the line or sitting in their own guns. My buds saw me laying there and I woke up to them laughing. We're all tired as hell still from being in the field all day yesterday doing some training.

Wasting time for another hour and a half until I can sneak out of here. Doing research on LEDs to build some new mods, since it appears most of management isn't here today.

Staying late today at work so I can convert a physical disk that is attached to a virtual machine to a virtual disk so that I can enable replication to the backup server.

Something the previous guy probably should have done to begin with, but at the time also wasn't a big deal as we weren't doing replication at that time. But if you're doing a virtual server why not just have all the drives attached to it virtual as well? Seems like that would make more sense...
