Hanging out in shed/backyard listening to a Youtube 129 remastered Bob Marley mix. Just a little mild bass right now. A few Bud's and more volume by noon. Also researching starter info here and looking at the Haynes manual re removal. Looks like a pita on the 5.3.

Had to park the Denali out of the way for the weekend, it's having starter issues and I don't wanna mess it up by keep trying to start it. Gonna have to drive the Maxima for the rest of weekend. It's like sitting in a go cart.

A couple of days late, but I've been busy.

Our only kid - HelenKate, got married to a fantastic guy, Chris, in Portland on the 4th. Went up the week before to engineer the power and lighting needed for a backyard wedding/party for about 100 people. They did the backyard renovation and sod over the last couple months. I swooped in, installed 2500 lamps HK had been collecting for 6 months, powered them, a DJ, electric beer coolers, a photo booth, and assorted other stuff with about 80 amps of service, and it all went off without ONE glitch or blown circuit. Even had a borrowed chandelier in the tree, and a platform for an outdoor living room conversation area.

Yeah man. We will have to do it again. I have a K&N filter and spare set of 9006 HIDs collecting dust that could use a good home. I also have a spare screw for the tail light board you can have, that's if we can get the broken screw out.

Aweosme man! It was fun.

Showing my naivete here, but where do the 9006 HIDs go?

Sorry I just searched my garage and cant remember where I put them but its a resistor that lets you push full power to them with the drls so you dont kill the hid b allasts but the drl killer uses a relay to reroute power and stops the drls but you can also run quads or all 6 at once but either way you splice into your bcm in the rear fuse block but its easy work either way you decide[emoji106]

First day back at my desk since vacation. Didn't want to roll out of bed at all. :Zzzz:

New commute was very light on traffic compared to the previous route, I'm sure that will change a bit when school starts back up in 2 months, but at least now, there are no middle/high schools on my route like there were before.

Still have to wait 1 more day before I can get into my mail box and get my stuff for the past week. Normally wouldn't be an issue, but I've got laptop and washing machine parts sitting there that I need to get to. Patience is not something I have large quantities of. :bonk:

That's true. Capacitor stores energy which is how it provides 100% power.
To be precise, the cap in this mod isn't on the power wire to the lamp (unless there's a new design I'm not up to speed on) which would require a large cap to smooth out the voltage. If it's the small cap mod I think, the cap is smoothing out the voltage on the low beam RELAY control line, which accomplishes the same function of delivering smooth DC to the HID lamp ballasts. It's more elegant to use the smaller cap on the control wire, in engineering terms.

I think we are talking about the same "mod". Splices into the pink wire with white stripe located under the rear passenger seat near the fuse box and other end is grounded. Very small capacitor.

Still working on cutting down the tree in the backyard. Not sure if I am going to drag the 30 plus limbs behind the house and dump or rent a wood chipper. Really wish I had a chainsaw.

Actually was thinking I need a chainsaw that's not corded but I have free use of several gas ones...however I can't win the tool war by borrowing.

Damnit Dave!! Weren't you just on vacation a week ago? :jealous: :raspberry:

I'm not getting any work done today, my headlight issue has me window shopping for LED mods. My mod bug has been restless, and has been finding buffet menus scattered around the interwebz. TIme to hide the PayPal account info! :yikes:

I've been looking at some mod ideas for my Camaro's interior (really have no clue why I am doing that now), and also looking at security options for my detached garage on the house I'm getting.

:undecided: What kinda interior mods?

I want to redo my dome lights with SMDs. In the poking around I've been doing, I've found some resources that might make that a bit easier than initially planned (still sorta tricky though)

Removing the 3rd row seats has been nice for the week I've had it done. Can toss stuff in the back with plenty of space, and don't have to rearrange stuff to be able to close the lift gate.

Well long term going to be a total redo of the dash, wrapping panels with leather/vinyl, etc. First thing I'm looking at is putting a small overhead console in with dome/map lights and HomeLink garage door opener system (and LED of course ) , then the rearview mirror will be swapped with one that has a compass and temp display, no more dinky nearly useless map lights in it.

Lots of ideas flying around my head. Major interior overhaul won't happen for a long time yet, as exterior will be first, and tons of house stuff before that. Only so many dollars to go around so it'll take some time.

Looks like I am carefully driving home and then ripping apart the engine. Giant puddle of coolant under the truck, looks to be coming from behind water pump pulley. Hopefully that is the only thing.

scratch that. I ain't driving it home. It's bone dry on coolant except for what little bit left there is in the water pump. Gunna take a work truck home and get the parts. Might do it tonight in the parking lot, or tomorrow after work.
