But i did hook this one and gave the rod to the gf since she hadn't caught anything yet.

Looking for 13-ish inch Windows 8 tablets. I know, almost everyone wants a 10" or smaller for tablet but I need 13" models for a project at work.

Getting settled into the new crib, and making it look more like a home, rather than a storage facility.

Enjoying all the hard work the FIOS guy did this morning. Took him about 3 hours to get everything hooked up, but now I can record 6 shows at once, so best believe I'm not gonna miss a damn thing just cuz a game I wanna watch is on. Got my gigabit router setup, so I'll be testing the network's speeds with my home theater PC connection later this evening.

Got my offer accepted on a house! :wooot:

Still have to get all the legal stuff done (sales contract etc) since the person living there won't be moving until November-ish (which is fine with me, I'm not in a big rush) but we've agreed on a price so that's good.

It has a nice large 2.5 car detached garage with 100A 240V electrical service

Been trying to organize the new house. The cable guy was here for about 4 hours getting things hooked up. I have the entire month of July to finish getting things sorted and moved from the old house...

Been without power at the house since 7pm last night. Checked the fridge, surprisingly its still decently cold as of 5am. But of course, work has power.... this sucks. It was hot and humid in the house last night. I still need sleep.

Sounds like someone needs a generator.

Eventually I'd like to get one that could even run my AC

Two "smaller" ones should do the trick. One dedicated for the AC is what I've seen on houses where the owners have plenty of disposable income.

I do the installs myself so the only cost is of the unit. I can install two smaller ones (or one big one) for what most people pay for a small one

But that's still why I said "eventually" - I have a lot of other things that would demand lots of my money first.

It works well for me. Though I wouldn't say I have "disposable" income! I have a pair of generac generators. One runs the A/C the other the fridge and a few lights. If needed I can shift power to the sump pump to recharge the backup battery.

Today, my life has changed for the better. I received a phone call at 8:34 am this morning and i am proud to say that I am now employed with the state of Ohio :wooot: :wooot: :wooot:

The County Clerk of Courts has hired me and i will be starting July 14th  . Never in my life did i think I'd be making a career change at 33 years old, even after getting my college degree so i could leave my current employer. I put the last 17 years of my life into a company (and owner) that proved to me its employees are worthless to them. They slowly stripped away all of my benefits over the past 2 years. I lost my 401k 2 years ago, I lost all vacations, I lost my health insurance at the beginning of this year, I lost my salaried position within the company and was demoted to an hourly employee, and the straw that broke the camels back, i lost $15k in salary, resulting in me having to hustle a bit to pay my mortgage this month. They left me with no choice but to seek employment elsewhere and have someone else reap the benefits of the type of employee i am. I'm scared, nervous, overwhelmed, confident, and curious as to what my future holds, but for the first time in my adult life, my future is in my hands and I'm not at the mercy of a business owner who cares nothing about their employees.

While the pay isnt the greatest (i still have to work at my current employer, but strictly part time (2-3 days a week tops) until i can move through the rankings), i will have the benefits that I've always dreamed of. I get 4 weeks vacation, floating holidays (2 buildings are open tues-sat, so for the holidays that fall on monday's, i get as a floating day which can add up to another weeks vacation since there are 5 holidays on Mondays where federal buildings are closed), paid sick leave, personal days, matched 401k, healthcare that is super CHEEEEAP for a single person, they have a union, and, what i feel is the most important to me, a pension!!! I will be paying into the states retirement fund. I know for most of you, you're probably sitting there like "yea those are the basics for me :rotfl: ", but for someone like me to have every single benefit stripped from them and not have a future retirement plan, go to this... I just have this overwhelming feeling of like i finally made it! I know im still young, but at my age, and with my time invested in one company, i never thought I'd leave them, and now... to finally have a future.... priceless my GMT famz... simply priceless...

Thx to everyone who wished me luck, helped me with funds, offered assistance, and said a prayer for me. Sorry so long folks, but i know alot of people out there that i've met at the meets and have become friends with care about me. So i thought I'd share with all you :grouphug:

Flushed all the antifreeze out of the trailer, fired up the stove, fridge, and etc. Replaced the o-rings on the proprane hook ups. Tested the sig lights etc. At first I thought there was a ground issue as the lights were all working but when I pressed the brake pedal they all went out. Disconnected, reconnected and let it run power for a while and then it worked so....I'll check again tomorrow just to be safe.

Worked on the addition a little....gotta get a few pics together.

Congrats on the new job dude... if a place can treat you like that, they're obviously not worth working for - you're MUCH better off WITHOUT having to depend on them...

Knock em dead!! [emoji106]
