As far as non-LED mods I still plan to from the top of my head, as I know there's more I'm forgetting about:
Get HP tuners file from Brandon
RAI
Ram Air Hood
E-Fans
20" wheels, SS or Verde (again)
SS seats
Black Carpet
Rear SS interior door panels
Full SS dash
Full dip or repaint

..Yeah can't remember the rest right now

What E-fans you thinking of using? I bought a set of Venture fans for my TB but my clutch fan only recently started acting up and now I've gotten a replacement DD, so they never made it onto the truck.

I'm not sure yet, had some saved on eBay, trying to figure out which would be best

If you want to retro venture dual fans let me know, you can have this set for price of shipping. They're just taking up space.

I got them since they are what Mooseman used for his efan conversion (I think he may have changed them to something else now but not sure on that).

A little dirty from just sitting around. You'd need to fab some sort of mounting for them naturally.

The way GM had these wired up originally was with a 3 relay pack. Low speed would run the relays so the fans were in series so each got half voltage. High speed would switch them to run in parallel for the full voltage.

I was looking at using a Derale dual fan controller. By default it just turns on fan 1, then fan 2, but with the 3 relay pack you can make it do the low/high speed thing pretty easily.

Yeah Brandon would have to give me a hand setting this up, I wouldn't know how to go about it.. [emoji15]

So my plans of getting an SS dash aren't gonna happen. Talked to a seller on eBay, whom I've already gotten SS stuff from before says it'd be $245 just for freight.. Guess if I want a black dash I'm better of figuring out the best way to go about painting it... That wouldn't be anytime soon anyway, just thinking aloud

Not sure, as I never took the plunge. There was a period on the OS where a few members were doing that to change their interior colors, and I was almost on the bandwagon too. Never went for it, these LED thingies grew on me, and I went that direction instead. :hopeless:

Ahh okay, I'm just worried about the dye not being consistent across everything, I want a nice even finish

This would be something I'd practice on some small junk pieces a few times first. I'd do the same with paint too, if I hadn't done it before.

I suppose if you wanted to go through the hassle of prepping your surfaces, using adhesion promoter and a flex additive, you could get a good paint job on those plastic pieces. There's a member from SSOwners here in town who has all his removable plastic pieces painted white to match his truck, and it looks sweet. His friend is a professional painter though.

Yeah I would for sure get some practice in since I've never used vinyl dye before. Would definitely use an adhesion promoter, learned that lesson the hard way for some interior pieces in the cargo area. Even if I don't do the dash because it might just be a headache taking it out then putting everything back in, I still wanna redo all the panels that are in the rear. They flaked while I was in Germany. Only things that didn't have any issues were the pillars which are all dipped. You can't tell the difference between what was dipped and painted color wise [emoji6] that was a success on my part

I don't normally go in these threads but I was bored and just looked in here to see wazzup and I couldn't help noticing that my old efan setup was talked about.

If you want the full skinny on this setup, including relay schematics, head on over here:
http://gmtnation.com/forums/topic/2384-my-efan-setup-montanaventure-efans/

Now I say "old" setup because I have since gone back to an '08+ clutch fan. The wire broke on the temp sensor when I did the timing chain job last fall. Reasons I went back to a clutch:
- no automatic control of fans with A/C except using the manual switches
- I had some marginal cooling once on a trip to DC couple years ago when it was mid-90's + humidity+A/C, although it didn't overheat, it reached to almost one tick to the right and wouldn't go down.
- I did not notice any power or MPG change
- A/C performance was OK, not great like now, but just OK, while idling.

That being said, I do have to say that I loved that empty space. I was able to swap the alternator (several times) in 15 minutes flat and just made under the hood look cleaner.

And I've become proficient at removing the shroud and fan.

So in your opinion is it worth it for me to try your old efans out brother? Or is it too much of a nuisance and isn't beneficial?

I got off the efan koolaid a while ago so I would say "no". I'd invest in a tune to take the fan codes out and a 08+ fan clutch, which is cheaper than the electro-viscous fan. Even GM went with them. Go with what works.

From the reading I've done over the years, our radiators are marginal, which is why they stayed with a mechanical fan to compensate for it.

Just my 2¢, rounded down to 0¢ since we don't have pennies anymore!

I skimmed through your old thread, wow man it had more things than I could wrap my head around. I personally wouldn't have the know-how to fix an issue with the efans if something occurred. So I guess I should just leave efans alone for my own benefit. Thanks for posting that link to your old bro

Shit I think I order stuff every other day and barely touch the truck with the rest of life going on. Two garages full of shit once I get a good place to go after it, it ought to be dialed in decently again.

Forget the E-fans. For years it has been mentioned that they are marginal on the platform. I am glad i swapped to the 08 fan clutch and tuned out the code all those years ago and have never worried again.

What is different about the 08 clutch kyle? And why does it require a tune?

Yep, straight swap, just no plug and more reliable. Had the TB codes tuned out when I was on the efan koolaid so that was easy. The Saab still waiting to do a tune so I have a CEL for that but tape takes care of that  .
