Chrome always gets me home.

Hate how people think black spraypaint makes things '"offroad" when it just makes them look ghetto

Last night I popped the old winch off and for some reason the mod bug made me screw with the grill again. I think I need to invest in a couple more so I can just swap them out and quit painting and modding the one I have.

I've considered doing this as well. I did manage to find a decent condition crossbar from the junk yard a while back, that's in my garage, but I do have a complete grille set saved to my Ebay list for $60 just in case. Mod bug has other things higher up on the priority list though.

You can get them cheaper.

I've seen cheaper ones too, but the crossbar doesn't have the recessed area for the bow tie, so it sits on top. JimmyJam had one like that on his red truck before he sold it, no me gusta.

Now if you have OEM style ones for cheaper, link sharing is mandatory sir :deal:

It looks to have indent and reviews seem to say perfect on some and the emblem not flush on others. I have the custom emblem from BobbyBlaze and it has never sat flush, but I do have a stock one so I may just order a couple today and then report back. I think I need a bit of chrome back on the truck really.

So I've been reading on a fullsize forum (I know I know, we just don't have a lot of content for them yet here, as I do stuff I'll post it!) and I started reading some mod threads over there. Dang it, now my head is full of ideas for the Silverado.

Well, my wallet is threatening to stab me in the gut if I try to follow through with any of them right now

Although I am trying to come up with something I can do on the cheap that would also be nice/handy.

Hell my Wallet threatened both me and the mod bug with cement shoes if we followed through with the ideas for my GMT400 Sierra lol

I modded my kitchen cabinets. Stuck an LED strip underneath, mounted a switch in the side of the cabinet, and wired in a 12V power supply. Let there be light!

Do what I do, push everything aside, so it's just outside the photo frame, and you're good to go. :raspberry:

Alright here ya go. I may replace the strip with a bit warmer white at some point but I had this one lying around.

You can tell it is a bachelor pad. I mean how many normal people have a table with tools and stuff just sitting in their living room, which has only one chair, a TV, and computer in it? :rotfl:
(don't mind the ugly wallpaper visible in the one pic, all that is coming out eventually when I have the time/patience to remove it all)

I did not have a cell phone or camera when I had hair. I doubt there are many pics even floating around.

I hit up TXBlazer about inserts. Trying to get them in super yellow like my 194 license plate LEDs and the yellow on my switchbacks. Spoke to the EBay seller I got them off of. He had those SMD's custom made. So getting another pair of LEDs from him to salvage from. Hopefully this can happen. It'd be a one of a kind custom mirror insert pair

Sounds similar, in style, to the mirror turn signals I'm building. Strips gotta go...

I bought some SMDs/PCBs months ago, and some bases from TXblazer. Just have to finish the control logic, and put them together. But like all my other fun mods, the mod bug has been unmotivated. :frown:

Edit: Hand soldering these SUCKED, definitely would have been easier with hot air instead.

 Yeah money kills most of my mods too. That, AND the fact that I know how to accomplish a mod, and how much time and effort it's gonna take. Then I say I'll do it later, and go watch TV :hopeless: I'm hoping all the PS3 modding woke my mod bug up some. There's an online event going on in one of the games that I play, so when that's over, I'll see about getting back on the horse.

I can't very well breed other people's LED mod bugs when mine appears like it should be in an old bug's home on retirement. :eyebrowhuh:

Yeah you need to get your mods going again man

I don't have much LED mods left myself unfortunately, just door modules and HVAC controls (front and rear). Maybe footwells for all the seats, but can't see anything else beyond that honestly

Thats how modding goes for me as well. I knocked out a bunch of mods I have been wanting to do in 2013 and finally got the wheels I wanted in 2014. Been kind of slow ever since. Once I finish this fog light retro (again), I have nothing else on my list for the TB other than general maintenance items.

To keep the bug happy though, I started modding the F150 over the last couple months. LED tail lights and 3rd brake light, LED upgrade for the interior and exterior, window tint, and finally did a projector retro which turned out great. Huge improvement over stock in all aspects, even have a functional hi beam with the bi-xenon projector. The only other thing I might do is replace the LED 3rd brake light I have now with a smoked one to match the tail lights.

Other than those two items, I will be done modding for a while which is good. The TB will need new tires for the winter wheels before the snow hits this year.

I cant make it a month without some kinda modding to the truck. Even if it is just swapping mods I had before.
