Maybe it is like prison... You come in with a little knowledge and leave with a degree in criminality.

Somebody poked my LED mod bug, causing me to start looking at prices on different chip types. I don't think this is how support groups are supposed to work :hahano:
What? We're just supporting you, that's all

That's awesome! Is that for the glass hatch on an envoy?

As in.........you could make Bowtie ones on the same design and sell the GMC/Bowtie handles here?
He'd have to be careful if he was to sell stuff like that. Trademarked logos, licensing, etc. A few one-offs are usually OK for personal use, but I just don't want to see anyone get in trouble.

Well dffwiz or whatever his name is better run for the woods after making all of those door sills. :rotfl:

To be honest, I'd be more than highly surprised if one of us made something like a handle and got in trouble for it. It's not like he'd be selling worldwide putting it in stores and making advertisements for it. Even if GM caught on it'd be too petty of a case for them to pursue.

Just my opinion on it. :tiphat:

:iagree:

Not the first, only, or last person to do it. Dont be scared :rotfl:

Just like we should not download music and movies for free :blinkhuh: Have not paid for music in over a decade. :tiphat:

Dude that's nice! Is it aluminum? If it is and you did it in an hour you're really good with auto cad/cam. Kudos

this one is a nylon material I had laying around, cuts extremely smooth and easy so I was able to run it through with some ridiculous rpms lol the finish product will more than likely be aluminum which will take a bit longer to do

Nice work on the prototype rear handle. It's great to see so many creative and resourceful people making ideas into reality

Well hell. The mod bug has a new meal. After 4 inches of water in the older finished basement, the insurance money is going to mod the lower level into a full out mancave with full bath, new furnace, moved interior walls and a few other goodies. Now I just need more hours in the day to get it all done.

Starting to think the home mod bug is worse than the truck one. Ideas won't stop and insurance gave the bug a pretty good budget to munch on. Should be a sweet meal when done.

You can't possibly be surprised by this... :raspberry:

As for me, starting to drum up ideas for some new custom side mirror lighting. The LED strips crammed into the lenses aren't doing it for me anymore

I gotta quit letting her park next to me. Then she starts noticing all the differences and wants them too. Lol

I've got to dive into the whole HVAC actuator thing now. The rear one is clicking.....

:undecided: Been tinkering with some things in my mostly organized parts bin. Came up with this... Wonder if I can find a good use for it somewhere?

Next up, transfer it to a perf board, and maybe put it into a small project box.

That looks perfect for DRLs that turn off for the turn signal.

The original (way back) plan, was to build LED panels for the lower and side areas of my retrofit. This way I could use however many more amber LEDs than the white ones, to have a close approximate brightness. And then mount the module inside so it's self contained. Well you guys have seen how my retrofit has stalled.. :ugh:

So I'm thinking, start a little smaller. Gonna try to build some side mirror switchbacks. Already talked to TXBlazer about getting some blank mounts. Since the 3 wires are already in the doors, once I get my circuit finalized (I think I may introduce a voltage regulator, just for longevity on the parking light LEDs) I'll put the modules in the doors at the PDM/DDM.

Still trying to figure out what LEDs I want to use, and what configuration to go with, but that's relatively easy compared to making sure the logic works properly.

I'm itching to do some mods. Finally going to get the bags installed in the rear since we are moving in a month. Father in law has a 16' enclosed trailer to use, now I just need a brake controller and should be ready to hook up my first trailer to this truck

Gonna be bad ass with all the mods

Dont forget to hook up the red wire so you have trailer brakes.

I have been wanting to finish my fog light retro for weeks now. Now that the weather is nice, I am having to work everyday.

Before I can continue my fog light retro, I want to catch up on repairs. Need to replace my HVAC actuator and SWPS. After that, I will get back to modding.

I have been debating on upgrading from Morimoto D2S HIDs and ballasts to OE. Cant convince myself to drop $160 on Denso ballasts and another $150 on Osram D2S HIDs.

Yeah I have been disappointed with my morimoto d2h bulbs. One of them has a flicker in it all the time. Its not very noticeable but its there nine the less. Seller is being an ass about it, and is insisting that it is the ballast. I swapped sides and the same bulb still does it. Then I put in a completely different set of ballasts and the same bulb flickers. Now he says I have DC ballasts and I need ac ballasts. I asked if he sent me a DC and an ac bulb and he said no. Well then asshole why do I have on flickering?? He doesn't want to send me another bulb. Fk that dude. Filing a claim.

The problem with your mod bug is it never gets to do any modding... You are too busy getting more projects.

A morimoto licensed distributor on eBay. Hopefully eBay will make them replace it.
Hopefully so.

I only have gotten my bulbs from TRS and I think a set was $25 when I got them.
