I like the black/white theme you got going on already.

Just keep coming back to this pic. White would make bumpers more subtle I think.

Ooooh aaaaah. Super F-ing bright boys and girls. Easily throws concentrated light 300 yards + (not exactly sure how far it was but it's over 300yd's, keep in mind that it wasn't correctly aimed during my tests)

Crappy, one-handed, shaky cell phone pics on side of house.

-tapa still likes doubling pics, oh well.

Cutoff looks good. Looks like enough color in the cutoff to me. Wheres the squirrel finders?
No where to be found, I blocked them off. :raspberry: Normally I think they shine upwards so they're really no big deal, I just wanted to block them for a competency test to see if I could successfully mess with projector guts.

Oh yeah, function perfectly. Can't wait to get them installed!

Btw, a 6 amp battery charger will not sufficiently power a ballast. Kept tripping it's internal circuit breaker. Aaand that's why my pics were outside, had to hook it up on the car.

Probably the initial inrush current was the problem. Running isn't much power at all but initial fire takes a bit of a juice.

I think it looks great now with the bumpers being black, I think white just looks funny. Orange I think would just be obnoxious.

How about something like this, totally different and badass

Been discussed a few times and there is one out there now. He did a snow camo over his blue paint.

I almost did the top wrap on mine years ago but the cost is ridiculous for something I would destroy.

I thought about just black stripes to make this kinda thing

I like this for some reason

I also thought of using some random cuts to do similar to this

I think orange is my favorite bumper idea, but then it is harder to change it up. I have used orange, neon green, blue, army green, desert ten, and red accent over the years. Having the black and white makes it easy to change things up with some help from the HighVoltage.

:undecided: Kyle, what color are your rims again? Color match to those maybe? How about gunmetal?

In other news, I ordered more crap off Ebay, just cuz I had some Ebay bucks that expire next week. Larger solderless breadboard, some 2 pin through hole terminal blocks, and a handful of potentiometers just because I don't have any.

Black and silver wheels. I had debating on redoing the black chrome ones in garage to powdercoat depending on the rest. I have destroyed the finish on them over the years.

Matching wheels makes me wish I had a grill with chrome crossbar still that I could paint in black top and bottom and have it match.

If I get a color matched crossbar for my next TB and its stock chrome bar is in good shape you can have it. Whenever that happens.

One of the guys down here tried to open a set of OEM tails with heat, and ended up cutting them open, so pretty sure they are permasealed. I shot him a text to double check.

Actually, he said the tails were butyl sealed and he got them open with just a heat gun, but he didn't know if they were OEM or aftermarket, since they were junk yard tails.

Should start the retrofit tonight or tomorrow. If not tonight, then definitely tomorrow. Gonna take it one step at a time. Bake open, check fitment, cutoff the bulb holder on the headlight itself, slap the projectors in, line them up, then re-seal.

It always sounds that simple. I thought the same starting out. If I had more time, my fogs would already be done. This weekend I am hoping to test fit, check alignment, cut/modify the shroud then install, and then seal these bad boys up.

Since you are working on your only set of lights on yout DD, you do not have much time to mess around.

But in your case you have to modify every bit of it, mine should be pnp easy compared to yours lol.

And nah, I have the stock lights as back-ups. Just refusing to put them on unless I have to because they're a pita to get off compared to the aftermarkets. And if it comes down to it, the TB is used about twice a week if not less so it's pretty much free for me to borrow.

And on a side note, stepper motors and bulbs for the TB will be here tomorrow. :wooot:

When I get my next TB (whether that be this weekend or later this year) since I'll have both trucks it will get all sorts of goody LED mods and stuff that takes time to do that I wouldn't normally want to rush on a daily driver. But hey, having two for a little while will let me get everything done up - switches, dash, the works
