Support Group/Thread For Mod Addiction or MA

The 3800 is a hell of a motor. I been good at letting it do its thing, but its tempting to mod while the wallet is open for parts anyway

I loved the 3800 we had in our family's '96 Lumina LTZ. Parents bought in brand new, all of my brothers and I learned to drive on it. That engine never let us down. Car fell to me when my parents bought their Yukon, which is right when my Cutlass went to car heaven. First car I ever modded.

Doubt I go cam deep.

I had the 3800 in a 98 F-body but it never got 28 mpg like tjs impala does. Not sure why though

What dome LED lights does everyone use?

You mean what brand or style of 194 bulb?

Zz makes me think evil things

Too much skinny pedal?

My 98 Camaro 3800 would push 32 highway. It was a stock engine but was tuned.
My 99 will do about 26 highway. But I think the cam and such has something to do with the difference lol.

That car never got the skinny pedal. It was a huge let down from my previous Z28 M6. But i should have known a V6 Auto would not keep me happy. I bought it for MPG and when it could only match the the Z28(both at 26mpg) it had to leave me so i could buy a TA M6 and have bunches mo power and t-tops and same MPG. I even tried dolling it up with some inserts and tails and tires and rims and tint, but it left me from from thrilled and I need to like the vehicles i own.

Any pictures of your old Camaro's you two?

The 99 will be getting a bunch of mods installed whenever I have the money to repaint the car... so in a few years lol.

My former Trans Am after I killed one of the WS6 wheels I had on it. These on there were only like $200 and got me through

I kinda want a Camaro SS like that, I almost bought one 4-5 years ago that had 600hp already.

Thanks for sharing gents

What mods do you have planned Sparky? Kyle what mods were on yours?

I have a fiberglass hood and spoiler (nothing over the top I don't like riced out but should look good I think), an exhaust valence, new seats and covers, then I'm also going to redo the exhaust exits to fit the valence, put in LEDs everywhere in the interior, and I'd like to custom build some LED tail lights but not sure on that. Then eventually whenever the current cammed 3800 blows I want to put an LS3 and T56 in the car.

Lots of money involved in doing all that, so most of that won't happen any time soon  I will be installing the seats this spring and hopefully will do the LED interior work, and I'll likely plastidip my fiberglass hood black and install it since my paint started peeling off in sheets on my stock hood.

Minor bolt on crap only. Exhaust, subframe connectors. decals. cold air intake. tint. shifter. strut brace. It was my DD through for my 135 mile commute even through 2 winters. Only failed to get me to work about 3 or 4 times and in those cases it never even moved from being parked, I just knew better. It was a great car and my buddys uncle still drives it around with almost 300K miles now.

I wanted another one bad, but with kids the Impala was a smarter choice. One of these days I will have another 3rd or 4th gen. Really want a 3rd gen with 4th gen drivetrain.

3rd gen with a 4th gen drivetrain would be awesome. A clean one, you'd have to have a mullet For a bad one.

I missed out on 355 turbo'ed backed by a t-56 in a 91 a few months ago. Thought a buddy was getting it and it turned out he did not and I did not find out til it was gone. Guy sold it for about 1/3 of the build cost and I knew the guy that helped him build it. Would have been a sweet modded ride without any work.

I guess I am truly an addict...could not make a simple order off Amazon without ordering a mod for the truck. Not even sure it will be what I want, but price was good and mods just have power over me.

This was completely random. Not watched or even something really thought of til I put TrailBlazer in the search n it popped up at a fraction of normal cost.

My finger just clicked add to cart all by itself...scary stuff

I started out with a fairly small order on Amazon and it was over 200 when I was done.
