When it comes to LEDs I make sure the seller is from the U.S. most of the time

In the end, 90% of US sellers get their stock from overseas anyways, mostly Hong Kong. It is just easier dealing with someone in the US versus overseas.Capote said:When it comes to LEDs I make sure the seller is from the U.S. most of the time
True. I have their kit in the wife's F150 currently. I am thinking about upgrading the bulbs to Morimoto though.Capote said:Kensun HIDs are your friend [emoji39]
Cheap- Kensun, EBay, Amazon. Next level up in price and quality is Morimoto. Talking about expensive is OEM. Osram CBI HIDs will run you $200 for a pair. OEM ballasts I have seen from $200-$400 for the pair. You are also talking about better quality and virtually no warm up time.Midnyteryder196 said:For cheap.. Kensun ftw.. Thats the deal with TRS and the Morimoto brand. They specialize in performance lighting which is why they only offer 3000k (fogs), 4300k, 5000k and 6000k. As the kelvin temperature gets higher the less lumen output of the HID. It would not make any sense for them to offer anything higher than 6000k because the output would be sub par.Capote said:I like how much praise Morimoto kits have, they are obviously of the utmost quality, too bad they don't have bulbs over 6K.... Maybe I'll upgrade my ballasts to Morimoto's though [emoji106]
Haha. You can dream, but it will be a dream that will not come true. I get that you like a higher kelvin HID bulb, but that is not performance lighting which is what TRS is all about and why they are so popular.Capote said:I'm aware if the decrease in output at higher temps.... Can't a boy dream?
I thought you said the Camry had projectors or are they halogen projectors?Darkrider_LS said:If you are up for a challenge Ryan I may hit Ya up to do a retro for the Camry using some aftermarket headlights.
They are halogen projectorsdmanns67 said:I thought you said the Camry had projectors or are they halogen projectors?
Nice. Still interested to see what kind of output you can get with a HID in a halogen projector ;undecided: You might not need to do a retro.Darkrider_LS said:They are halogen projectors
Def worth an attempt for sure.dmanns67 said:Nice. Still interested to see what kind of output you can get with a HID in a halogen projector ;undecided: You might not need to do a retro.
Sounds good manAarkon said:Ill do some research for you tomorrow chris since I still need to weigh those mirrors for you anyway
You'll burn the bowls after a while. That will result in diminished output, and then you'll have to do a retrofit anyway.dmanns67 said:They are halogen projectors

35w HID shouldn't burn the bowls. Halogen is going to be probably around 55W. Biggest issue could be proper light spread and/or bad hot spots from too big of squirrel finders.Blckshdw said:You'll burn the bowls after a while. I did not know what squirrel finders were for the longest time. I am not a fan, ruins the look of the cutoff IMO. I understand the reasoning behind it, but I guess if I drove a lowered Honda then it might be an issue. Between the projectors and HIDs in my fogs, I basically light up everything on the road.Sparky said:bad hot spots from too big of squirrel finders.
Basically it's small leaks of light above the cutoff that are to light up the road signs so you can read them. Think about it, if there's no light above the cutoff, outside of street lights, you wouldn't see very much that was higher than the hood of your vehicle without using your high beams. That's not all that practical in certain situations, so in come the squirrel finders.Mounce said:Squirrel finders, please explain.
I see it mentioned on hidp a few times a day and have no idea what it/they are lol.
