You think LED headlights are more pnp than HIDs? There is the EXACT amount of work to put either one in. All you need is the cap mod, an HID kit and a relay wiring harness and you're good to go.SnowBlazer said:Yup! Don't want the hassle of HID's. Having to wire, and position 'em. I'm more of a plug n play guy.
Hopefully you don't have as much issue with them as most have, since you'll be using them just as your High BeamsHARDTRAILZ said:I kinda been thinking bout trying Cree in the brights. My cheapo bulbs in them suck
After burning through 4 replacement Crees boards, Kevin sent me a new headlight and things have been great ever since (knock on wood)Capote said:Oh are they? Didn't know, last I heard there was still issues with them malfunctioning.
Same hereBlazingTrails said:I zip tied my ballasts right behind the headlights. I'm still running stock high beams but I'm thinking about getting hids.
I would not recommend them for the low beams. Hi beams, yes.Stewzer55 said:I've considered LED bulbs for my headlights, My lights flicker when my windows are being used,
I'm gonna have to see if I can buy a driver by itself from Kevin since I inadvertently let my good one go with the Tb...may try them out in the high beams of the Camry in the summer.dmanns67 said:After burning through 4 replacement Crees boards, Kevin sent me a new headlight and things have been great ever since (knock on wood)
I am not impressed with DT AutoTechs quality of their LEDs. I made a bulk order of (10) 194 LEDs and 8 of the 10 LEDs have failed. Their customer service did have me replacements out in the mail the next day, but that is after the fact. The 3157 LEDs I purchased are still doing well, but 80% of my 194s failedIm Blazed said:Anyone know anything about these high beam bulbs? They are led and do not require a driver. They are 2000 lumen. As soon as I get my hids delivered and installed I was just going to go with sylvania silver star ultra but couldn't find anything on their lumen output to compare.
They also make 880 led fogs that are plug and play and have 1200 lumen. Rather cheap mod without adding hids in the fogs.

Hopefully it was just a bad batch of the 194s. I was going to order some of their 3157ck bulbs and their fog lights for now.dmanns67 said:I am not impressed with DT AutoTechs quality of their LEDs. I was confused about the description, it says the drivers are water proof, but then it says no ballasts Drivers are used with LEDs and ballasts are used with HIDs. You would have to have a driver to step up the voltage from 12v to 24v.
$70 is not a bad deal, but like I said I have not had any luck with DT AutoTechs 194 LEDs.
To be honest, if I did not already have my Cree LED headlights from Kevin, I would go with the Cree LED headlights from TRS. For $30 dollars more ($100 total), you get 3000 lumens, 5000k in color, and actual Cree chips. TRS offers a 2 year warranty as well. I believe DT AutoTech told me their warranty/return policy was 30 days. I did not see it listed though. TRS's link is below.

Only on 2002 models.Im Blazed said:The front signals are not CK sockets are they?
Yeah I initially thought maybe a bad batch, until the replacements they have sent me have started to failIm Blazed said:Hopefully it was just a bad batch of the 194s. I was going to order some of their 3157ck bulbs and their fog lights for now.

It looks like they have a 30 day return if you don't open anything. At bottom of page it shows an image that says Full 1 Year warranty - I assume that is for any damaged products. TRS seems like the way to go though for the 9005s. $30 more and another year of warranty and an extra 1K of lumen seems like a good deal to me .
Here is a pic of one of the two 194 amber LEDs that melted from DT AUtoTech I will definitely not be buying LEDs from the supplier anymore. I went with them because they were the only supplier at the time offering the 5630 chips. They are crazy bright compared to the 5050s.Im Blazed said:Hopefully it was just a bad batch of the 194s. Ouch. Was looking at 194 Amber leds today and say a few with 5630s. I wonder if that is too strong for those little things.dmanns67 said:Here is a pic of one of the two 194 amber LEDs that melted from DT AUtoTech I will definitely not be buying LEDs from the supplier anymore. Could be possible. My 3157s have 5630 chips and they are fine. The festoon I bought for the cargo area are 5630 as well. Both are still doing fine.Im Blazed said:Ouch. Was looking at 194 Amber leds today and say a few with 5630s. I wonder if that is too strong for those little things.
Those would be insanely bright. Too bad they come all the way from Hong Kong. I try to stick with US sellers.Midnyteryder196 said:All this talk of 5630... Got me thinking bout switching out my 5050 panels with these... http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=390617044350&alt=web
