I thoroughly enjoyed the machinery pictures today!

Are most of the big guns like the one pictured above fired via a pin like a normal gun or is it more of an electronic ignition? I'm guessing pin-fire.

There's a firing mechanism on the back of the breach, the #1 man pulls a lanyard to engage the firing mech, that hits the primer, that explodes the charge, that makes the gun go BOOOOOM!

First time I pulled the lanyard, I had to crimp the hot primer with my teeth afyer firing and take a shot of the mixture that is used to swab the tube after each round is fired. Mixture of CLP and water.

This is a good vid of a random Paladin gun section firing. I was impressed by this vid, they're firing fast as fuck. Paladin in the books says that it fires "4 rounds a minute", BULLSHIT! Nobody ever does proper safety procedures like swab the tube after every round. This #1 man only does it after the last round like most of us do anyway. It's all about getting the round out of the tube as fast as possible.

Yeah, that's the round. The gunner on the right throws in the MAC charge which contains the powder.
