Parents were from Kentucky..heard it called pop all of my life and everyone there does.

What I don't understand is how people in Kentucky think they're southern when they're nearly in the middle of north and south. Yet southerners and northerners aren't half as hillbilly as them :rotfl:

:rotfl: that's worse! I wouldn't call it southern unless you're in the furthest south row of states..

The Mason Dixon line (or as Robin Williams said, the Manson Nixon line) goes thru Kentucky, splitting it. But I believe most of the Kentuckiand sided with the Confederates during the Civil War.

I always heard it called pop in Ohio, Kentucky, and a few of the mid states.

When I lived in Ohio and Kentucky, everyone called soda "pop". When I lived in North Carolina and Florida it was always called soda.
