I did an LED mod to my garage. Put new light fixtures on the outside as there was nothing at all, then I used these Philips bulbs.

And this is the final result

Anyone know which lights are in what series on thestock bose 6 CD player? I can't seem to get the middle lights to work.. Power, tuner knobs and the far left 3 lights on top work.. What am I doing wrong here?

If they don't work, flip polarity. If they still don't work, I imagine you melted the pads off. I inadvertently melted one off in the cluster, lucky it was a turn signal light and not one for illuminating the gauges.

Holy crap. Got to angle that camera a little more. Dang - I need to get my steering wheel buttons fixed, and I want so much more but it'll be a while. Hey - lots of stuff lined up for when I have money, time, and ability to hold a soldering iron again.

Yes yes Hvac and cluster will be next... I tried the magenta film for the display but couldn't see it in the daytime...

How difficult, if at all possible, is it to throw leds in the dic screen? I plan on doing leds so was just curious.

Not possible. It's a dot matrix display.

That's what I figured. Leds will be my summer project. Gonna start re-reading this thread. Doesn't seem difficult just kind of time consuming.

What do you guys do for the buttons where the black covering is coming off? My steering wheel buttons and some of the radio buttons are doing this, and before I do LEDs on the wheel I'd like to fix that part.

Here's a simple question that I'm sure has been answered but when you put these LEDs in the dash... Etc will they dim with the dimmer? I hate super bright dash lights and indicators at night

Most people stay with the stock needles, unless there's a specific color scheme they are changing to. I changed to blue needles, Capote changed to green ones. Off the top of my head, I don't remember anyone else switching to different color needles. The big thing to worry about, is mixing colors. This doesn't work well with LED light.

For example, in Aarkon's pic, those are the stock orange needles, but with a blue LED light behind them, they look red. Only way for an LEDs true color to show in the needles, is to have needles of the same color, or white/clear. Any other combination, and you'll get a mixed color.

Ok before I go ahead and do the cluster I figure I'll ask your opinions first. Being I'm still new at this, should I get stepper motors before I tear into it? All my gauges work fine now but we all know how well I break stuff... What says you?

If this is the wrong section to ask this I apologize.. Please move if necessary...

I will say first you should read through the warning point thread in my signature about double posting vs using the edit button :nono:

Then you should find out how much a full set of steppers cost. If you can spare the expense, then it wouldn't hurt to change your motors out since you'll have everything open, although it's not a requirement. :twocents:

What color are you thinking of going with?
Not sure. Probably white or blue. I dont really feeling like de-blueing the cluster so white or blue is the laziest way. Plus I like the way both of those colors look with the ebony interior. Good thing is I can just switch the color on my headunit to match as well.

You can put a piece of magenta flim over the display to make it more blue. But when I tried it with the radio display it made it too dim to see in the daytime. Not sure if you care about that but just giving you a option...

I will look at that. Would only need it for my HVAC controls.
Someone on here did that and it looked great. That's where I got the idea from, maybe it works better due the display being closer..
