Mod bugs can't be killed. Only put into hibernation due to lack of funds, or temporarily satisfied by mod completions. To keep the wife at bay, figure out how to spin your mods as safety related, or to make vehicle maintenance easier.
You can knock them out for a bit via meds lolBlckshdw said:Mod bugs can't be killed. Only put into hibernation due to lack of funds, or temporarily satisfied by mod completions. To keep the wife at bay, figure out how to spin your mods as safety related, or to make vehicle maintenance easier.

That was your error....you mentioned she needed to be doing something to enjoy the mod...BHAMER said:She is already rolling her eyes at me...lol I told her it would help when she is navigating...don't think she bought it...
NICE!! Well we just bought MY Envoy about 3wks ago...So she is a little hesitant about me doing anything yet.. Course my mod list is growing bigger everyday I look at this site!!! lolDarkrider_LS said:That was your error....you mentioned she needed to be doing something to enjoy the mod...
While on the other hand I got full blessing from the gf to lift mine lol....Granted I did spin it as a "might as well do this now while rebuilding" mod..
its trying to find the time now to get them done lol, plus the truck has been in the shop 3 times since we bought it. But they have fixed it everytime. My last 3 weekends have been shot with projects and weddings and blah blah blah...loldjthumper said:It is taking you that long to do any mods? I had mine 3 days and was already doing mods.
I think i lasted all of two weeks due to cold weather before I installed the sirius satellite kit...which was soon followed by res delete and new muffler about two weeks after that lol...djthumper said:It is taking you that long to do any mods? I had mine 3 days and was already doing mods.
Are you a political consultant?Blckshdw said:To keep the wife at bay, figure out how to spin your mods as safety related, or to make vehicle maintenance easier.
Satellite kit? Is this a mod or a retrofit? Tell us more.Darkrider_LS said:I think i lasted all of two weeks due to cold weather before I installed the sirius satellite kit...which was soon followed by res delete and new muffler about two weeks after that lol...
Retrofit kit for sirius satellite radio. Basically it uses a dock that mounts in your vehicle to mount a receiver. Some kits come with a home base as well. I will be doing a more permanent install of the docking unit in the trailblazer when I install the Havis console.mcsteven said:Are you a political consultant?

When I do the more permanent install I plan on connecting to my headunit with rca cables if possible instead of using the fm transmitter in the dock.mcsteven said:Ok. Was hoping it was something I missed to use the satellite receiver (I already have) for something else.
Why do you gotta call my headlights/grille the ugliestBlckshdw said:Mod bugs can't be killed. Only put into hibernation due to lack of funds, or temporarily satisfied by mod completions. GF's should have no say when it comes to modding a vehicleDarkrider_LS said:While on the other hand I got full blessing from the gf to lift mine lol....Granted I did spin it as a "might as well do this now while rebuilding" mod..
When said gf is pretty much common law wife at this stage, she does have a bit of say loldmanns67 said:Why do you gotta call my headlights/grille the ugliest
Looking forward to the new project

I might just do that after I get mine done...lol She does drive an Equinox...at least its gm!!!djthumper said:Do some LEDs for her ride too
Mounce said:Manns, got any leads on some AO 5630 switchbacks? I only found one set on Ebay..
Garth, these are the ones I bought. Bit more pricey than most, but the good thing is, all of the LEDs are dual color. So no half and half deal.dmanns67 said:No. The vendor I bought my 5630s apparently only has AW. Carlton bought a set from the same vendor and there were AW.
Search 3157 switchback AO 5630 led and see what comes up.
I gave my switchbacks to RayGumm and went back to amber LEDs. Some reason I like them better than switchbacks. Maybe I just got bored with them.
AW flashes amber-white-amber-white, when the parking lights are on, and turn signal is activated. AO, flashes amber-off-amber-off instead.Darkrider_LS said:Ok what is the difference between Aw and Ao? Been wondering this for awhile. If it helps the ones I got from kevin are white when running as park lights then switch to orange when turn signal is applied.
So from what I understand of that mine are the Aw styleBlckshdw said:AW flashes amber-white-amber-white, when the parking lights are on, and turn signal is activated. AO, flashes amber-off-amber-off instead.
The AO style is a bit more popular, since you have more contrast when the turn signal is fired. With AW, the white tends to be brighter than the amber, so it sometimes looks like the white is what's flashing, instead of the amber.
Thanks, Carlton!Blckshdw said:Garth, these are the ones I bought. Bit more pricey than most, but the good thing is, all of the LEDs are dual color. So no half and half deal.
2 x 3157 Samsung LED 22W high power 22 dual SMD chips White Amber Switch Back
Honestly it may be more up front cost initially. But the longer lifespan of led vs incandescent makes up for it pretty fast.Mounce said:Thanks, Carlton!
And yeah, that's a bit more than I wanna spend. Having a hard time talking myself into ones half that price lol.
Ok correction after looking at that link I guess mine may actually be the Ao style...because when I select the turn signal or hazards they flash orange like normal amber bulbs..then turn off for a millisecond or so and switch back to being a white running light.Blckshdw said:AW flashes amber-white-amber-white, when the parking lights are on, and turn signal is activated. I think anytime you go with switchbacks that are dual color, they are gonna cost roughly twice as much as your half and half setups. And since you're also looking at the latest and greatest tech, you're gonna pay for that too. Now if you looked at a setup with maybe 120 5050 SMDs, 60 white/60 yellow, you might be OK. I think our headlights have enough clearance to fit those.Mounce said:Thanks, Carlton!

I'm wanting to get away from the 5050's. My current 20-ish chip (amber, single color) ones are dim as hell. And for switchbacks, the 5050's aren't a ton cheaper than the 5630's so for me it's worth getting the 5630's.Blckshdw said:I think anytime you go with switchbacks that are dual color, they are gonna cost roughly twice as much as your half and half setups. Going from 5050s to 5630s myself, I can tell a big difference in brightness. The 5630s are definitely worth the money if you are upgrading LEDs.Mounce said:I'm wanting to get away from the 5050's. Also, reason that I posted that in the post whore thread instead of here is because they won't be going in the EXT, they're not even going in a GM. I didn't feel right about posting here about it because of that lol.
Any cool LED upgrade mods are welcome here. A couple of members have posted stuff they've done on other vehicles.Mounce said:Also, reason that I posted that in the post whore thread instead of here is because they won't be going in the EXT, they're not even going in a GM.
