Anyone use this yet? I just ordered a small bottle. Figure for less than $10 might as well give it a try. A lot of guys and gals on XDTALK.com use it and swear by it. Figured I would share.

No, just silver. Haven't gotten the other yet. I think that will be used just on the sights.

I like that. A friend brought over his Browning Hi-Power a few weeks ago to show me his sights. His brother is a gunsmith and a jeweler and he installed a Cubic Zirconia in the front sight and 2 in the rear sight. They catch whatever ambient light there is and they appear to light up. Just the right size to not be "blingy"

for my LC9's little sister, a pink LCP for my wife (it had only fired 6 rounds, 7 if you include the test round)

0223121922.jpg

-Ruger LCP (.380)
-Glock 39 (.45 GAP)
-Springfield 12GA Double Barrel (Full and Modified choke)
-Carl Gustafs 6.5mm Mauser (LOVE this gun)
-Sears & Roebuck .22

I have been wanting to downsize from the Glock 39 to a .40 cal, maybe Glock, or Springfield XD40.

Also, I like my LCP, but really like the look of that LC9 (especially with that Crimson Trace), I might have to trade-in and upgrade!!!!!

All long guns were given to me by my grandfather, he still has a few more he will give to me one day (when he croaks, in his own words)
-8mm Mauser
-10 or 12GA single barrel
-.38 Colt Official Police revolver
-.22 Ruger Mark II

It's a Lasermax not a Crimson Trace.

Lasermax = about $80 (only $40 more with the gun )
Crimson Trace = about $200 (I like the CT power button better)

Cheap walmart nail polish and clear coat. Works and looks great. Put 100 rounds through it this afternoon and held up great.

Got the glow paint for the sights. After only 10 seconds of light from a flashlight here they are.

I think I found my new gun...

congressional-revolver.jpg

Taurus USA has proudly announced their newest handgun: the Congressional Revolver (pictured below).

Its name is beautifully engraved on the cylinder.

Available for the right hand (Republicans) or the left (Democrats), it really is just like a congressman: it has a dull finish.

It of course has to be a revolver, since it turns around and around, and yet you get the same old thing every time -- just like elections!

Anti-gunners don't worry! We weren't kidding when we said this exquisite piece really is modeled after Congress: it doesn't work, and you can't fire it.

No Problem, you put together the list of parts and fly out here. We will go shopping to a couple of places I know in San Diego and Orange Co. and pick up your supplies. Then we sit in the garage and start putting things together.

My next project is a Vietnam era M-16 A-1 converted to single fire. I ordered my retro lower in Dec. from nodakspud home page.htm and I hope it arrives sometime in April.

Had a bad day with my Mauser...

Took my scope/Gun back to the place that installed the scope. I wasnt allowed at the shooting range because the safety didnt work, because it hit the scope. Found another scope that we thought might work, nope same problem. Tried a diferent set of risers, scope sat so high that my cheek didnt even touch the gun.

Alright, return everything, will shoot Iron Sights... Go back to shooting range. Nope, they wont let me in now because the Caliber is too big for their shooting range...

At this point I had had enough, went home, and here I sit...

Talked the wife into letting me buy a couple handguns thou... Now the question is, what to get!! One for her, one for me, and one for shits and giggles..

I use to hunt all the time and all seasons ,daylight to dark. Have a reloader too .but haven't used it for 15 years . life got in the way.:frown:

Then you can dremel down the end of the safety and buff it smooth after you get enough cleararance you will probably need a set of medium rings too

Its a 1891 Argentine Mauser. It has a safety that flips 180* right under the scope. I cant use a dremel to grind it down, the set screw is right where the grinding will need to happen. Thinking I am either going to have to take it to a gunsmith, and get the sight mounts mounted to the left side of the gun (should be interesting), or have them grind down the safety..

I am honestly leaning to selling off the gun. Its a beautiful gun, the weight is nice, but the ammo is a hard caliber to find off the shelf, and I dont have the means for reloads.

I have been eyeing a G3 and a UMP, but those are going to be further down the road. Going to have to find a simple Rifle, or figure out what to do with this Mauser..

You could also try to find another safety system or just the lever that fits this one and grind it down you can get disassembly instructions off the net or I could check my mauser book I have a Vz24 I am re doing to sport/ I used a dremel to slowly and carefully grind down the lever at the top untill it cleared my scope. I like the 3 position mil safety New bbls 4 24 cal 26 cal 28 cal and 8mm that will need to be chambered when I decide which chamber I want and then go down to Pacific machune tool to order it. Bold trigger new stock, laminated thumbhole had bolt redone shoots well enough in 24 cal chambers are a little longer than normal and I have had to fireform all cases prior to loading.

I got to say ,Thats pretty . looks like rosewood grips .Hows that thing on the wrist after about 50 shots.
And did it come with nice case?
yup, rosewood grips. its surprisingly tame for such a small 45. put 100 rounds through it the day after i got it and didn't feel a thing. i think because of the fine checkering on the front and course checkering on the back of the grip it stays pretty well planted in your hand. The case is nothing to write home about...

Fired a snub-nose .357 with a .357 round in it once. Once was more than enough! Man I have never felt a shock like that to the wrist. As a high powered concealed carry its good, but a day at the range for fun is another thing.

LOL Same here ,I got that 44 black hawk when I was 16, I'm 52 now, damn time flies, Anyway .Me and a friend went out and shot about 150 rounds in 2 days, The first shot he did squatting, knocked him on his ass , and my arm hurt so bad for a week it brought tears to my eyes. But that's amazing about that 45, I guess guns are designed a little better for recoil now.
