1998 Chevy conversion van. This van made the trip out to the Toroweap Overlook at the Grand Canyon in 2007.

P4110658.jpg

2003 Chevy Avalanche. This was my work truck, it died on Christmas day in 1999 when a Semi forced me onto the shoulder and into some ice. The truck got sideways on me and before I could get it corrected I was in the center median where I rolled it 4 times. The truck held up like a champ though, I was able to replace the drivers front tire that had blown and drive it home. There was not much in the way of salvageable body panels remaining on the truck however and it was sold off to a junk yard.

That is/was a sexy truck there! I was in the low rider scene in high school, but that was in the early 90's and I can't seem to find any pictures of those rides.

My 95 Heads/Cam, 6Spd Z28. It needs paint in a big way but still runs like a champ. 25 mpg on the freeway still. It recently ate its clutch master cylinder and requires my attention... just in time to be put away for the winter anyway.

IMAG0377.jpg

A video I made recently for someone on the OS who was convinced putting an exhaust on his TB was going to make it "sound like a V8".

My wife's 03 1.8T Beetle. Depending on how finances go, it may get coilovers and an ECU upgrade this winter.

IMAG0035.jpg

I've also owned 3 Fieros and motor swapped 2 of them, including a turbo setup. I'll see if I can dig up pictures.

Opel Kadett wagon - 67 or 68. The first car I owned 100% myself. Bought for $50, put $250 into it. Lasted two years of college. 1971-73.

opelkadette1.jpg

1973 Levi's AMC Gremlin: First NEW car. Drove 29 hours Boston to Florida two weeks after buying it on our honeymoon. The sticker stripes were part of the Levi's package. The white LACE sticker appliques were my idea, to slightly pretty it up it for my new bride, who was not impressed because her feminism conflicted with any traditional girliness.

I wish I had pics of all the cars that have come and gone. I will spread these out because I don't want to monopolize an entire page!

This is a pic I found of a car that is virtually identical to my first car.... though mine was cleaner.

First ride. Had it for less than a week (my parents gave it to me). Some drunk bastard crossed the yellow lines because he was picking up his coffee cup he dropped and took out the van in front of me then took me out. I've had zero respect/tolerance for drinking and driving (by any level) since. :hissyfit:
1986 Grand Prix - 305, T-top, stock. LOVED that car.
Image7.jpg

First owned ride. 1996 Sunfire 2.4L. Paid $2000 cash for it. Sold it for $500 after buying the Civic. Mods: Some decals and a sound system.
100-0007_IMG.jpg

2004 Targa Lx Moped. That's as close to a motorbike as I care to get. Mods: Aftermarket exhaust, folding baskets and helmet case. I kinda miss the little putter. (Laugh if you want, on a flat surface, I could bring the little fucker up to 92KM/H (that's 57MPH for you folks on the other side of the border...)
103-0384_IMG.jpg

2004 Honda Civic Si. Bought in 2005. Mods: Decals, sound system. I inherited a family, so I had to look for something bigger before I spent too much on mods for it...
Image2.jpg

In 2007 I traded in the Civic (got $12000 for it) and bought harmless (2006 TBSS).

The rest, as they say, is history.

I too had a Grand Prix! I think it was a 1983, but I can't recall for sure. Mine was a Type LJ....which meant it had the buckets and center console shifter. I loved that car, the damn thing wouldn't die. I had planned on driving it until it died, then buying something new. It never died and I gave up on waiting.

Here a few pics I googled up that are similar to some of my other rides.

1988 s-10 blazer. 4.3L, mine had body lift and chrome rims with 30x11.50 tsl sx
1988blazer.jpg

1985 Z28 with 350TPI and auto w shift kit that hit hard as hell. FUN FUN car. Also had Cragar flat 5 spokes with tons of used tires to burn off.
1985z28.jpg

1995 Z28 LT1 M6 T-tops Tan leather. Dies by hitting a tree in mid air with my buddy driving, but it did 153 just before the cops hit the lights...long story
1995z28.jpg

1985 Maxima- Borrowed it and moved to FL in it. When I sold it I gave my buddy the 200 bucks I sold it for. Loved that it talked to you, but beat the hell out of this car.
1985Maxima.jpg

1998 v6 Camaro- Looked good but the M6 V8's got better mpg
1998camaro.jpg

1985 s-15 2.8 auto. This pic cracks me up because mine was lifted about 4 inches and had 5 spoke camaro wheels and 32 mt's on it. Was a piece of junk but fun

First car was a 93 Ford Taurus. It was a pretty good car, really. I didn't do much but put gas and oil in it. I did replace the thermostat and dropped a used alternator in it when mine was going out, but that was about it. Went to the junkyard when the underbody was rusting out and the suspension came apart. No pics, but it looked like any other gold/tan Taurus of that year, except it had "custom" wheel covers since the ugly factory ones broke

Second car was my 98 Camaro, V6 with an auto transmission. It was abused before I got it, so it cost me a lot of money fixing it, but I grew to really love that car over the 3 years I had it. It too unfortunately was rusty underneath (Ohio winters suck), then I lost it in an accident a little over a year ago (right after I bought my TB).

I had a 66 elcamino that just needed some paint and sold it like an idiot.

Went through a 80's c10, a slew of early 90's lumina's, a 94 olds, and a 95 grand prix, sold the grand prix and bought this it was the first vehicle I bought from a dealer.

outsidedriverrear.jpg

04 Nissan Sentra SER Spec-V Nissmo Package, dvd player. One sweet as ride with that six speed man I loved that car.

A little over a month of ownership I got in a headlight to headlight moving over for an unmarked construction zone.
carcrushed.jpg

The driver of the other vehicle a Jeep passed away shortly after, No seat belt.

I was lucky as hell and only spent 10 days in the hospital shattered my femur, broke my hip, stitches on my face, A few months later I bought my 02 TB I wanted something with lots of airbags. I wish it got better gas mileage, but hey it's paid for.

*Came home from the Stan July 4, 2006 I could write (and have been contemplating writing) a book about that day. The cliff notes version; Wife used power of attorney to take EVERYTHING. All I had was my military gear and my dog. No money, no Jeep, no Boat, no Bike, nada. She was already pregnant and showing. She was kind enough to leave me a CD-R with all the pictures and video of all the guys she slept with while I was gone starting in 2002 and included my best friend. Took a lot not to shoot her. But, I went down to the Chevy dealership. They were the only dealership open on the 4th of July. I needed to get back to Ft. Stewart on the 6th. I told the dealer what happened and he brought out the manager. Same thing happened to MGR in Gulf War. The gave me my TB for $16,000.00 out the door, it was stickered for $28k. The 16 was all my new bank (USAA) would allow. That truck and I saw more action and did more overnights and camp outs then I can ever recall. I just lifted it last week and she just hit 96k miles yesterday. Love this truck.

I have had too many cars/trucks to list.

Some of them include:

2 70's era Chevy Trucks

a 69 Dodge Charger

3 Pontiac Fieros (two 3.4L engine swaps, one of those turbo'd)

a 95 Camaro

Most of the pictures I had pre-2005 (2nd Deployment and Divorce from 1st Wife) are lost to the space time continuum. I Google searched the others...

1st Car: 1972 Ford Grand Torino Sedan with the 351 Cleveland engine 4spd Ford-o-Matic
View attachment 575
*During 1st Deployment (2002-2003/4) Aunt used power of attorney to sell w/o my consent (she didn't need it) and kept the profit.
2nd Car: 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera
View attachment 576
*Free as we rebuilt engine with help from my mechanic younger brother. Died after 6 months.
3rd Car: 1996 For Escort GT 1.8l i4 5-spd
View attachment 577
*Purchased from Ford after Olds died for $1k. Lasted 2 years. Had 90k miles when purchased and 256k when it died. The Beetle was my brothers. We used to rally the two cars. These cars were our first mods.
4th Car: 1983 Nissan Pathfinder 2-door; we lifted it and put 33's on it. We don't have a pic that survived the ex or the Afghan computer.
View attachment 578
*looked similar to this one. Mine was two toned garnet and gold (High School Colors). Pathfinder had 186k miles when purchased and 200k when we had to swap the engine. Odometer read 291k when wrecked by my grandfather.
5th Car: 2001 Volkswagen 'New' Beetle TDi 5-spd
View attachment 579
*First new car. Had this one and PF at the same time. Grandfather wrapped around telephone pole 2 months into ownership.
6th Car: 2002 Kia Sephia 1.8l i4 5-spd
View attachment 580
*2nd rally re-birth. Longest owned car and daily driver. PF and Kia saw a lot of action together.
7th Car: 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4x4 with all the bells and whistles
View attachment 581
*After Kia and PF died sold for scrap and sold 3rd Motorcycle for 1st Marital Vehicle. Purchased New from Jeep dealership where brother worked pre-2005 Afghan deployment. Never saw it again :hissyfit:
8th Car (Current): 2005 Chevy Trailblazer LS 4x4 4.2l i6

*Loved this bike. Sold for down payment on Jeep Renegade.
4th (Current) Motorcycle: 2004 Kawasaki Vulcan 800cc Classic

*Purchased 2006 to help save on gas and PTSD. Rode the shit out of this thing. Bought it with 1k miles on it, it now read 11k :wootwoot: For those of you that don't know, this thing came with big fenders and fully loaded. Made to look like the big Harley cruisers. I started chopping shit off and thinning it out. Went with a Bobber style. Still not done:undecided:

1st and only boat: 1998 Malibu Sunsetter

Wow, I can actually relate to some of that.

Wiggles... Yeah it was tough. Called my buddy who was a cop in town and just had him be my shadow while I was there. Once I got back on base I was wrapped up in post deployment stuff and moving into on base housing.

DJ... That sucks man. I saw it happen to too many guys my 1st time in Iraq. Never thought I'd ever get it. Guess you learn.

Just read the saga...that sucks man, glad that sales manager looked out for you. It's not often you get a feel good story from a car dealership. That's almost worth sending in to Chevy PR. Hope she got what's coming to her.

Here is my GMC Truck, I've owned it since 2002 when it was stock, and have been working on it ever since. I love it. Like, a lot. We've had some great times together, and I'm sure there's many more to follow

Unfortunately, I was on the way back from Fall Turkey Season in lovely Eastern Washington this year when my phone rang. It was my neighbor, informing me that a tree had fallen on my truck during a windstorm when I was away. What a horrible end to an otherwise great week, I couldn't believe it. Oh well, just another set of memories I suppose. That reminds me, I should probably go and finish cleaning up that tree, dang it all!

I suppose I'll leave the other ones out of this post for sake of length, but I have two other Chevy trucks that are projects, as well as a 1965 Buick Skylark. Oh and a 2000 Hayabusa that's in my neighbors garage while we work on it. Good times.

One of my best Trucks 1985 S-10 Blazer sold it at 565,000 miles. Replaced only the transmission and water pump the whole time I owned it. When I sold it it was only using 1/2 a quart between oil changes.
