Brought the tahoe to the shop for some maintenance and decided to take care of this eyesore as well. I'm not telling the wife. I want to see if she notices that her"baby" got modded.

Gave it some street cred last night. Little bit of rain and the roads were already wet. Young kid from Starbucks with an 85 or so Camaro Z/28. Pulled up next to me at a light. I left footed the brake and goosed the gas a little bit to make the truck lurch. I had already moved the drive switch to auto because of the weather. The light went green and I see his rear end sliding sideways. I'm waiting for him at the next light. The light goes green just before he comes to a full stop. I hammered it again and still beat him to the next light. Saw him today and used the line from the meme: How's it feel losing to a 5,000 pound brick?

Had to change out headlight and fog light, both on drivers side. both were non functional @ 5:45AM.
had to take grill off to work w/ the assembly.
since my grill comes off at least twice a year, (more than likely a lot more, i don't keep track)
the tabs, that the clips are supposed to grab on to, deteriorate.
here is my fix. GORILLA TAPE.
for me this holds up for about a year, then i have to pull off old and lay down some new tape.

Does your grille rattle (without the tape)? Mine rattles like a mother, due to how frequently I take it out, and I've been starting to wonder of ways to address it.

if the tape was not on there, i imagine it would. since those clips get so loose on that plastic tit.
can't hurt to try it, the tape does tighten it up.
cut a piece of tape, then cut a small slit in the middle for the clip to come through.
good luck

Sounds like it is time to upgrade to the Spec-D front grille

While I was doing quads in my pickup, I noticed that the low beam circuit had low voltage. When quads are on, the low beams are significantly brighter since power to the lows is coming from the front fuse box stud. I did a voltage drop test and found the perp. The contacts in the hi/low switch are fubar'd.

Also my truck has been sitting here for 2 hours and no leaks lol.

Had some time to mess with the spare hvac controller in my pickup. I used an SMD strip. At first I had major hot spots with the strip aimed out toward the front. I pointed the strip down and it turned out great. Well, maybe not great I don't like how the red has been dulled down but I can deal.

Put a red LED or two behind there perhaps :undecided:

I wanted to do the temp like I did with the trailblazer (white behind the sliders to keep red/blue) but when I got it apart I found out that this one isn't sectioned off in the middle. :hissyfit:

When I rode home I realized that the orange needles in the blue cluster that I've been looking at every night for the past two months look dulled down.

Had fun spinning tires [emoji13]

Filled the tank, 14.6 gallons for $15.75. $1.079 a gallon woot

Normal price was $2.079 but at work we use Kroger for gift cards a LOT (easier to keep track of certain business purchases), and every so often we use so much that there are excess fillups available and we all get in on a tank full. This time it was a full dollar off a gallon, woohoo.

Man just rubbin it in. Lol. That's a friggin sweet fill up. Reminds me of when I got my license. :woot:

Played with my X-Mas gift to myself to study the upstream O2 sensor, she appears pretty lazy alright. Now actually driving, that thing is updownupdownupdownupdown, probably a good 2-3 hz. At idle though, it'll hang on one end of the spectrum or the other for 2-3 seconds before switching states. Lazy old thing.

Drove around. Started to realize my driver switch is starting to act iffy. Would they replace the ddm if I replaced the bulbs since all of them went out?

Filled her up, HVAC is starting to make annoying noises, FML

Drove it and heard "DINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDINGDING" about 7 times. Dang ignition switch

I wonder how many people have spent thousands of dollars at a shop/dealer trying to figure out what's going on when it's just the ignition switch.

Drove it to the grocery and also bought some Christmas gifts for it :celebrate: Still need to find and buy a decent set of fogs to use. Figured with all the hype about the XB35 D2S bulbs, I would give them a try to see how they compare to the 3Five D2S bulbs.

Yes sir. After looking at your build thread many times and looking over on HIDP, I figured it was time to take the plunge. You have motivated me to finally retro my fogs. I have been wanting to do it for about a year and a half now. Still browsing the interwebs for a decent set of fog lights though.

Wired up a headlight relay harness in my pickup and all I can say is the pics don't do it justice. But you can see how dingy the low beams looked before in comparison. I'm so used to hids over the last 7 plus years that I just assumed they sucked just because they were halogen lol.

went for a drive in the country and took a detour down some trails i used to ride quads on.... ground was a bit soft and the trails were narrow and overgrown a bit... I'll need a good wax but made it no problems. there were only a few places to take pictures where you could get out of the truck without being in briars or mud...
