The plan is to do all the hard plastic interior panels black to match what I did with my grill and other accents that will be on the exterior. I'm going to do some of the interior door panel pieces black to match, and then through red tint coat metallic inside in places to match my exterior color. So many plans.....mcsteven said:Makes a big difference with it. Are you going to do the door frame pieces just to the outside of those?
That should look really good once all finished.AManders6 said:The plan is to do all the hard plastic interior panels black to match what I did with my grill and other accents that will be on the exterior. That's a lot of work, kudos [emoji16]RayGumm said:20140923_161741.jpg20140923_161814.jpg20140923_161832.jpg Detailed the begeezus out of it. Washed it, vacuumed it, organized the cargo area, got all the kids' crap out of it, cleaned all the glass inside and out, cleaned the dash, gauge window, and radio display. Then the pièce de résistance: used Meguiar's Carnauba Wax Plus and waxed her up good. Shiny!
Thanks, bro. Started about 12:30 and just finished so about 4+ hours worth. It was desperately needed tho. Thing was NASTY.Capote said:That's a lot of work, kudos [emoji16]

What Vac did you buy? I keep eyeing this ArmorAll one, but something about it just looks off to me, like it'll have like no power.dmanns67 said:Nice to see you go to finally use that wax Looks good. I just bought a nice shop vac specifically for detailing the TB. Has many different attachements and also has a blower function to get all of the dust out of the cracks. Sad to say the wife has commandeered the vac, might have to order another one
Bingo sir ArmorAll AA255 Utility Wet/Dry Vacuum. Found it here for $49 plus free shipping, http://www.amazon.com/ArmorAll-AA255-Utility-Vacuum-gallon/dp/B003M2F7NI/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1411515772&sr=8-4&keywords=shop+vacCapote said:What Vac did you buy? My shop vac is one I got for 75 bucksish a few years ago so I could fix a stripped out spark plug hole on a mazda MX-3 I used to own. Did it w/out removing the head and used the 'small attachments' kit to help blow/suck out aluminum fragments from the reamer/tap I used to make a new threaded sparkplug hole with a sleeve so the engine would not detonate upon first crank after trying to ingest a bunch of aluminum shavings... have used the vac at least 50 times since then on a host of other projects.. but mostly just vacuuming out vehicles.dmanns67 said:Bingo sir ArmorAll AA255 Utility Wet/Dry Vacuum. I had the same reservations about the shop vac. It has really good suction power with the 2 HP motor and the blower function has good power as well. It will save me money from buying the compressed air cans, for computer cleaning, that I use to get the fine dust out of the cracks.
If I wanted a shop vac for construction type work, this would NOT be the shop vac I would have bought. I wanted something small and portable to use to clean out the TB/F150 and also clean up around the garage. When i seen all the car detailing attachments it came with plus the blower function, I was sold.
Although I have not used to to clean the TB with, it has performed well cleaning around the house.
Wow what a coincidence that you own one lol. Glad to know that it works well I guess i'll be purchasing one then for detailing the interior of the TBdmanns67 said:Bingo sir ArmorAll AA255 Utility Wet/Dry Vacuum. I did pretty much the same thing as you man, took out all the pillars, trim, and other various interior pieces and repainted them flat black. Completely changed the whole theme of the truck instantly. Only thing left that I haven't bothered to do yet is taking out the entire dash itself and painting that and the center console.AManders6 said:The plan is to do all the hard plastic interior panels black to match what I did with my grill and other accents that will be on the exterior. Perfect place for the back up cam manBlckshdw said:New rearview camera showed up today. Was a little surprised at how small it is compared to the old one, but this one doesn't have night vision (that was useless if there were any decent light sources within the field of vision) and is a 120 degree field, instead of the 170 I had before, which was too wide for mounting in the trailer hitch where there's no point of reference on the truck.
Have some acrylic left over from my vacuum FAIL project, so grabbed that some of that, marked it off, and cut a piece to size so I could fill in the gap and mount the smaller camera.
I considered painting it black, but it's a small ring, and behind the trailer hitch is the spare tire, so it's not like there's any light source back there, so I left it clear. Applied some RTV to the edges of the acrylic, and clamped it into the hitch plug.
Mounted it up, had to adjust the rotation slightly. Added bonus, I get lane lines. That wasn't listed in the Ebay ad, but I'll take it. Now if I could only get my HU to stop displaying that stupid message!!
I plan on doing the dash as well, but my scheme is red metallic, black, and dark grey so I won't have to do the entire dash since its stock dark gray. Just accent pieces, which I think will look sweetCapote said:I did pretty much the same thing as you man, took out all the pillars, trim, and other various interior pieces and repainted them flat black. Lucky you lol, but yeah it'll look really great when you're complete, be sure to post pics of when you're complete man because I really wanna see how it all comes togetherAManders6 said:I plan on doing the dash as well, but my scheme is red metallic, black, and dark grey so I won't have to do the entire dash since its stock dark gray. Yes in that instance, bad place for obvious reasons lol. But if you plan on not towing anything, seems goodjimmyjam said:Unless you use it to line up a trailer [emoji53] [emoji85] [emoji817]
