Everyone has a camera on them now. He took a picture. Wasn't of license plate? Big deal let it go. It's his new wallpaper at work.

I took a picture of my "wife's" car in a parking lot. Lady walked up on me and I made small talk. I am shopping for winter rims. Her's were black, we want gunmetal finish though...

Yeah license plate and all. I normally don't worry about it. But we have had thefts in the neighborhood so now I wonder. I am heading out here in a minute to get a set of locking lugs for the wheels. I hope you are right though and it is something like TBSS Envy Wallpaper.

I spent the day puttering away on the Trailblazer. Cleaned the throttle body (which needed it badly) and my air intake. Also ended up removing the washer fluid reservoir. I know that seems weird. The problem I was having with the aftermarket air intake is once I put the body lift on it didn't fit. So for now it's like it is in the photo. This won't work long term, especially offroad, but it will work for around town on my 3 mile commute to work and occasional Costco run. Think I'm going to fab up something new, perhaps a snorkel.

Also took time to adjust and install my Radflo's. Now the rig sits nice and level for the most part. Gotta say, air-tools make life great!

I seem to ha e developed a bit of high speed death wobble. Going for an alignment in the AM. Assuming that the old control was so fubar that putting the new one in threw off the alignment.

I tell you what I did today... I became a tad bit more paranoid about my TB. Came out to do some work on it, and my neighbor pulls up in their drive way and suddenly remembered to tell me that on this past Tuesday, a gentleman got out of his pickup truck walked over to my next door neighbors house in broad daylight not trying to hide and took a photo of my TB. it wasn't a good shot apparently because he went back and took a second picture of it. My neighbor couldn't confront him because she wasn't dressed to go outside. But he turned got into his truck and drove off.

I don't have any home owner association issues to worry about and my truck is never apart long enough to worry about people complaining. It wasn't a city or state truck. It was just a truck with a illegible magnetic sign on the doors.

Ever heard of anything like this anyone?

Maybe he just liked the progress on your SS clone?

Yeah that is what I am leaning to. Neighbors mentioned that it said Home Construction on the magnetic sign he had on the truck. So maybe I am doing something right.

Hit max speed degoverned pretty scary

That's not top speed, you're only at 4k rpm lol. Theoretical top speed with a 3.42 rear end is around 200 mph red lining 4th at 5500 rpm. With a 4.10 rear end, red lining 4th at 5500 rpm would be around 170. Now does the truck have the balls to get it that high? No lmao, but I have a feeling it could get into the 130-140's or so. A 3.42 rear end at the top of 3rd is 140, seems about right.

Did it feel sketchy at those speeds at all? I've been around 110-120 but I have full suspension and it felt fine.

I also like knowing I have a locking gas cap on mine. Very worth the investment

After some thought hopefully he wasn't high! :rotfl: And thank your neighbor for being vigilant and remembering the name and contact info. Home constuction or home floral service? I wouldn't freakout my neighbor like that without having something to follow up on lol.

Personally, I would be concerned. I am surprised your neighbors even noticed the sign on the doors. Most people see these type of signs and ignore them, because they are such common place, and expected in a home owners community.

I think I would look into a ignition/starter kill. People ignore alarms anymore, so all they do is annoy people.

What I used to do with my Cadi when I lived in the wrong part of town, found the fuse that controlled the ECM, put a in line fuse and wire, with a toggle switch on it. Hid it on my B-Pillar, and called it a day. 7 Attempted thefts later, I decided to sell the Cadi, but it was never stolen. Steering column was replaced/rebuilt many times thou.

No one ever expects to look for a kill switch on the B-Pillar. Its usually found under the dash. Open the door, flip the switch, sit down, start up, drive off.

A buddy of mine put his kill switch above the sun visor. It was a push button, so he would sit down, push on the visor, and start the car. Was a neat little idea, but I didn't want to pull down the headliner, and a/b/c pillars.

Thanks I think I will try just that.

averaged 19.6 mpg during my trip down to Austin

Filled the tank today (at $3.01!) for the first full tank since my brake job and throttle body cleaning. Glad to report my mpg is back and power restored. 19mpg! :wootwoot:

Filled my tank @ 2.599. Not getting the best fuel mileage @ 14.2. But pulling a trailer tends to do that..

Holy shit I wish gas was even close to that here. I think it's 3.73 for regular at costco, I just filled up yesterday with 92 for 3.92. It just dropped under $4 at regular stations maybe a month ago.

Got a ticket yesterday for my tinted front window banner and my tinted license plate covers! Officer said nothing about my driver and passenger windows that match the rear.

He said my banner came down to far on the front window and pointed out some ASI or ASE line that the tint can't pass, well I'm like 1.5 past....Crap!
So I got an early Christmas present...$130 ticket! Thought I'd get a warning first but no...:frown:

Had a nice December day figured I wax, change out new Cree lights, 160 tstat and get a sound clip from my Corsa cat back exhaust

I got one back in I think May, except it's $287 down here. I was able to get the ticket dismissed by submitting a letter to the judge apologizing and saying I didn't know tint wasn't allowed on the front windshield, and that I had since removed it. A few months later I got a letter asking for pictures of the truck with the tint removed, so I sent in a picture that looked super dark, and 2 new ones with the back glass popped open so it looked like there was no tint LOL. Got it dropped without actually removing the tint, might be worth a shot. Would probably be easier if you had a tint shop write you a receipt for a tint removal.

Nothing more frustrating than tint laws.

Agreed, and I was pulled over specifically for the tint. I was thinking really, you have nothing better to do? I could kind of understand tacking it on to a moving violation if someone is being a dick, but specifically pulling me over because of the tint. He first checked my front 2, they metered 25.4 (legal is 35 +/ 6 so 29 is fine) and I told him really man, over less than 4%? Then he checked the windshield and it read 49.7 lol

They probably were hoping for bigger things, drugs, DUI. They can't pull you over for nothing, so the tint gives them legal reason. Best not to attract attention to ones self.

Not saying that isn't a high gas price, but I'm having trouble feeling bad for you living in paradise.

Got new wiper blades since mine broke when i tried to break them out of the ice on the tb this morning

Don't get me wrong, I love living here, but the price of living is crazy high. One of my friends just moved into a 1 bedroom 1 bath townhouse (4 units upstairs, 4 downstairs) and he's paying $1200 a month rent, either 15 or 20 year loan. Typical mortgages here for 3 bedrooms are around $2500 a month on a 30 year loan. I'm just lucky I can stay at home while going to college lol

Your friend could have a 1400 sq ft house on a large lot for aboput the same price here, with a two car garage, new home. Lots of jobs ...
but it is 27 below right now.

Chalked the new tires today. Had to lower the pressure on my new Cooper Discoverer AT3 to 31 psi. Tried 40, 37, and 34, but after ~300 feet the outer blocks were completely untouched. At 31 psi it's even except the very outer 1/2" or so. I was a bit surprised they need to be that low.

Just to throw it out there, if you had them fill it in the "warm" shop and then drove and chalked them in the sub freezing I assume you have right now, your tires may not give you an accurate test. Try it again after they sit in the cold at cold psi, possibly in the AM or evening when it has been sitting. Even driving a few minutes will raise from cold psi check. I had the shop add 40psi in my wife's snow tires today before I took them from the shop and they dropped to 34/35psi after driving around the block and sitting outside all day. Single digit temps.

I would guess you will have a lower than 31psi after tonight. If your chalk test shows 31psi is good at a true COLD check, then no sweat. Keep up on rotations and you're good.

I will check them again this morning, but I put 40 psi in them about 4 seconds before the first test right where I was testing it. Should the chalk be worn off perfectly to the outside edge of the outer tread? If so I'd have to go even lower psi

Had some fun in the snow. I know it's a 7 year old vehicle but with rain or snow I can still have fun :)
