I wonder why they used such a different plastic on those vs the US models. Why not make them the same, just with a yellow insert where the turn signal is instead of changing the whole thing like that?

I agree, makes no sense. Must be more expensive this way.

Headlights are slightly different as well. The position lights come with white plastic instead of the amber one, so no mod needed for that

Hmmm....:raspberry:

Ryda...does he have a build thread about it on ExpeditionPortal? I followed a build on one of them and it was SWEET!

They're known for their duramax swaps into GM based full sizes (yukon, escalade, tahoe, suburban etc.) so im pretty sure theres at least one on expeditionportal
The company is called duraburb inc and its based in florida
If you youtube the name it'll come up with a buncha vids
If i had the money i'd buy a tahoe variant but the total cost of a 2008 suburban with a duramax swapped in is $48,000

Btw i voted

Successfully replaced the Blower motor Resistor pack thanks to the how-to here in the forum!

Second DIY repair in 2 weeks. I am out of control! (and saved myself about $300)

LOVE the forum!!!!!

Opened the hood and saw wet spots from coolant. Tightened the hose clamps and wiped the coolant off. I'll check again next time I drive it. I'm hoping it was because of the recent cold weather and the silicone hoses.

I had two clamps that needed to be tightened on the first single digit temps we had. I replaced the radiator a few weeks ago too and had already re-tightened em

Sweden. Not sure if its just Sweden, but overseas, certain countries mandate amber rear turn signals, resulting in these atrocities

Omg I feel bad for our fellow TB owners overseas. On a different note anyone selling their old or spare tbss steering wheel with DIC, PM me I may be interested!

What did I do? I got mine fixed. Then it broke, AGAIN, TWICE. What I did... was not drive it over a cliff in frustration. My problems have been documented in other threads.

Giving the truck some TLC. Changed rear rotors, pads and e-brake shoes.
Also changed the brake fluid and bled it, still a little bit spongy feeling in the pedal :-( Seems hard to get it really stiff.

Just thought about trying to install DIC and this idea out but when I checked with a test light it said its a normally closed momentary switch. Back to the drawing board or I am going to buy a DIC Steering Wheel. But I didn't ruin my main radio/speedo bezel since I have three of these lying around.

But here are some snapshots of my attempt number 1.

Installed new tail lights and flasher relay for leds. Got rid of my eurolights, big difference. Only one downside for me, the amber leds doesn't look amber due to the red lens. Turn indicators here shall be amber.

What make/model of flasher? I'd like to go LEDs but don't want hyperflash or cut resistors into the wiring.

I've got the LM487, found it on Amazon. I just have LED's in the tail lights at the moment but will add to the front and mirrors. I've read that some people still get problem with hyperflash if there's LED both in the tails and in the headlights.

a simple load resistor will cure any hyperflash... I've had mine in for the better part of 2 years now and zero hiccups so far (knocking on wood now )

I've read that those flashers could possibly take away cruise control so thats why i didn't go that route...

You can install LEDs into the mirror signals without any resistors
Only the headlights and taillights cause hyperflash
I have LEDs in my mirrors and it makes a world of difference

Edit:the bigger sized LEDs dont fit though
The normal 9 LED bulbs and anything smaller fit

I wanted amber turn signals myself and couldn't find the ugly export lights, so I opted for 100% clear lights.
Custom Tail Light Configuration
I also tried putting amber bulbs in the factory reverse light, because amber is a legal color for backup lights.

You need to let Zapp Branigan know where you found those. IIRC he was looking for a set of all clear tails for the TB.

While I agree with the load resistors, can we really use your truck as a typical example of lasting for two years. Hasn't it spent roughly that long at the dealership? :raspberry:

Go find a slippery road or parking lot and slam the brakes on to get the ABS to fire for a few seconds. I did that and it must have bled out the ABS block as the pedal got stiffer after that.

Ouch! lol

I've been running load resistors for a couple years on my tail lights and now also a set on my front lights since my LED conversion there this summer and no issues with that either. And mine is on the road almost every day, so there

Thanks, I did that as well, couldn't tell the difference then but today it felt normal.

Work on the truck today, new Moog tie rod ends (PN# ES3675 & ES3676) and alignment.

The stupid animals got into my HVAC system again, but this time I didn't have bodies. I had to remove 2 nuts from the blower motor and in the process, I dropped it and the squirrel cage broke into a million pieces. :hissyfit:

Doing some more work to finally get these wheels dipped. Meanwhile I haven't washed the truck in two months and it's parked outside (I'm in my parents' garage in this pic since I came up for thanksgiving). I think the wax is really doing well. Collinite Marq d elegance. It's the paste wax like 915 I think

Truck pulled a CEL today while driving started driving sluggishly during acceleration
P0014 exhaust camshaft position timing over advanced (bank 1)
Just did an oil change with mobil1 last weekend so it could be that but im suspecting something else
First time going below 1/2 tank of gas yesterday since i bought it (1/4 tank). Maybe now its all winter blend and my truck is acting up.
I deleted the code and we'll see if it comes back on

Installed new rotors and pads all the way around. Also removed the parking brake hardware. The passenger cable is totally seized up and had the shoe still partially applied. Had to beat it off of there. Don't know if I'll go through the hassle of getting new cables or not.

Also replaced the dying hvac actuator. Not as bad of a job as I thought it was going to be and I didn't have to disassemble near as much as I thought I would have to. Nice to not have a nasty gear grinding noise when starting the truck or changing modes  then I cleaned the throttle body since I didn't have to worry about killing the actuator anymore. it was pretty gunked up.

Over all, a good productive day. Thanks to my cousin who let me use his heated garage :wootwoot:

Changed out my oem UCAs for some nice new MOOG ones. Also replaced the fluid in the transfer case, it was a bit passed due. Did good only dropped about 6 ounces of fluid when I knocked over the damn container with the pump. Should be good though my finger came back blue

I tell you what I did today... I became a tad bit more paranoid about my TB. Came out to do some work on it, and my neighbor pulls up in their drive way and suddenly remembered to tell me that on this past Tuesday, a gentleman got out of his pickup truck walked over to my next door neighbors house in broad daylight not trying to hide and took a photo of my TB. it wasn't a good shot apparently because he went back and took a second picture of it. My neighbor couldn't confront him because she wasn't dressed to go outside. But he turned got into his truck and drove off.

I don't have any home owner association issues to worry about and my truck is never apart long enough to worry about people complaining. It wasn't a city or state truck. It was just a truck with a illegible magnetic sign on the doors.

Ever heard of anything like this anyone?

Everyone has a camera on them now. He took a picture. Wasn't of license plate? Big deal let it go. It's his new wallpaper at work.

I took a picture of my "wife's" car in a parking lot. Lady walked up on me and I made small talk. I am shopping for winter rims. Her's were black, we want gunmetal finish though...
