Yes, it is my Friday...Blckshdw said:Looks like I have joined the club of people at work, not really wanting to work, and hoping people at work don't get on our last damn nerve.
Got an old head in here recently hired, who is buddies with one of the owners, who's been asking me for help with a small marketing project. Built him a small desktop database to keep track of contacts, some form letters, and envelopes to make printing stuff out easier. His computer literacy levels are pretty low, so there's a lot of basic stuff he doesn't understand. Throw in an application built based on what he said, and not what he meant... Well you can imagine how much fun this is.
Is it Friday yet?
Love that show. Did you find bigfoot?BC backroader said:Meeting the producers of "Finding Bigfoot" here in BC this afternoon. Some buddies and I are involved in the subject, and the show is doing a local episode, so I may get my "15 minutes" of fame. ;-)
Yup, 35 years ago. That's why they wanted to talk to me. I'll probably get a couple of seconds on-screen at the "Townhall" meeting.Porkins said:Love that show. Did you find bigfoot?
Cool, I'll look out for you. A few years back we had this unearthly howling outside my house, even since then you can hear them every so often in the woods across the road at night when Im out with the german shepherds. When I mean unearthly howl, its crazy sounding, nothing like I have ever heard and Ive lived out in the middle of the country my whole life.BC backroader said:Yup, 35 years ago. This will be a 2 hour special, to compare how "Squatchy" BC is relative to Wa State, probably airing this fall.
That looks and sounds all too familiar. Where was this at?Blckshdw said:Made a run to the new crib this morning to do some cleaning, take some measurements, and haul some more stuff. Tweaked my back in the process, stupid bin of linens and towels
Came home, took some ibuprofen and relaxed for a bit. Then Carlos and I went over to a friend's place for some grilling. Had steaks, chicken, corn on the cob, potatoes, with some macaroni salad, potato salad, slaw, and some drinks. Rain held off for about 5 hours, so a great afternoon, especially when my back stopped hurting. Gotta love meds yes
Borrowed a 6 foot ladder, and went back to the new crib. Changed a recessed light that was out in the ceiling, and rearranged the wire shelving in the master bedroom from this (how is this even useful if you have a lot of clothes to hang? Hell it's not even level )
To this... Much mo betta. And all I had to do was buy a couple of side wall brackets for support. Was able to recycle the existing parts.
On the way home, got caught by a train. Conductor was on something. He stopped here, nowhere near a station, and sat there for 5 minutes. Pulled forward a bit, and stopped again. Sat there for a while. Then threw it into reverse, and backed up a couple hundred feet. Stopped and sat again. He continued the train dance for about 20 more minutes before I lost patience, utilized the ground clearance of my SUV and hopped the median to take an alternate route.
On Waters Ave, about a mile west of Dale Mabry.djthumper said:That looks and sounds all too familiar. Where was this at?
