Before I went out to groom someone else' LED mod bug, I did some tinkering around the house. This week's project, flip flop my fridge's door. It opened towards the wall, and was annoying.
The Youtube videos I watched, all showed removing the inner panel (with the shelves) and flipping it over, which was pretty simple really, so I followed suit. Started with the bottom, and after pulling the rubber seal out of the track, I find this shit!!
Bottom track was completely rusted through, and almost fell apart in my hand. Sparky, did you send your TB's vibes to my fridge when you fixed all your rust?
Got the panel off, and went to flip it, but the foam insulation behind it was contoured to fit the panel and would only go on 1 way. That's when I looked closer at the contact points on the door. They weren't quite mirrored vertically like I thought (pretty close though), but from side to side. So I put everything back together with the exception of that bottom track. (I'll have to source and buy that later) Sort of glad I wasted that time, as there was some mold under the seal from where the moisture got trapped, so I was happy to have that cleaned up.
Finished result, fridge and freezer doors open to the main part of the kitchen like logic would dictate.
