Trailvoy (Off Topic)

Honestly, I did not know anything was going on over there until today when I was doing some work on the trailblazer (disconnected the computer and the BCM and had put it back together and it wouldn't start unknown driver issue SOLVED) anyway, I had searched over there like I usually do on what the issue could be and seen a post roadie had replied to a while ago and it said he was banned. I though what is going on here someone with 28k posts gets banned then I started seeing it a lot more, after some intense looking around I found a link to here in someone signature... I am glad I found the link :hail:
 
Hmmm so if all the GMT Nation links are gone from TV, we need a way to bring more people in :undecided:

I say we just leave the OS alone. With no real people answering questions and everybody seeing all the major posters banned, it will eventually die a slow painful death. We don't want newcomers or converts to think we're just a bunch of teenagers in a frat house. It just gives them more ammo to dissuade those that want to move.

Let the GM service rep post empty platitudes. Let "I am a technician" give useless advice. Let VS try and fix what is beyond repair and make it worse. He can do a better job than any of us could at killing TV. Eventually, Google will point people here.
 
Well Said! Several people have taken it too far and have lost my respect. It is one thing to be excited and another to be ignorant and vengeful. They are really doing nothing to VS which is the real bad guy in this situation.

Fully agree. By constantly jumping between both sites, we are giving them the activity they need to survive. Nothing wrong with retaining a membership there to access information, but no need to poke the bear.

But I still wanna know why I am not banned! They had better not be using me to moderate behind the scenes. I do not appreciate fakers.

DucattiSS is/was logged in. Which would imply his account isn't banned either.
 
Now confirmed that the site administrators have deleted PM's stored on their servers that referenced GMTNation. :banghead: Private isn't so private on that Jaquar site (...I mean Toyota site). SHit now, I'm confused.
 
True, but I haven't been able to log myself in since yesterday. Ive heard no such complaint from him. The fact that mine isn't reading banned tells me that they altered my login and contact info to prevent me from using it while keeping it dispensable to them. That's pretty messed up.

Red Green was great. I remember watching that on PBS back in the day. I don't even think VS could fix the OS with ducktape

I'm eventually gonna go anyways, but I'm trying to get all our Chapter Members notified of the exodus... Apparently the PMs have recently been turfed. So now I dunno...

This is probably true. There appears to be some serious technical issues over there as pointed out in the 'Roadie' thread.

Off-topic: Lorne Green was pretty good too! He had a famous tv show....IIRC it was called 'The Lorne Green's new wilderness' I loved that show as a kid! I think he had some other ones too, not as good... Battlestar Galactica? Bonanza?

Lol. Most users EVER ONLINE was today at 5am. Really?? I mean, I've only seen a handful of posts all day. There are a lot of members continuously online that aren't posting at all. When I say continuously, I mean for at least the past 24hrs. Members that haven't been active in months. Some are even being displayed as online when they are, in fact, logged off. Have they no shame? I hope they have stock in duck tape.
 
On the plus side for me, since my account is being moderated. EVERYTHING I've ever posted is gone to the public.

I'm no Bill, but there's a lot of tech I posted buried in a lot of threads that I don't have to sniff out and request removal for now.

I hope they flick the ban switch for me on Monday.

I was thinking the same thing, it's allowing me to go into my write up posts and get all my goodies organized so I can bring them over here
 
I say we stop worrying about that site and what they are doing and start focusing on this site. They have obviously inflated their active users, both logged in and out... but if you are truly done with VerticalScope, just help spread the word and make this place better than TrailVoy will ever be.

I can't find two people here that would disagree that their ads were an extreme burden as a registered member. Then you look at the supposed 4,000+ guests browsing their site... I call bullshit.

I am open to suggestions as I work to check things off of my To-Do list, so lets get some ideas flowing and make this place more attractive to new members. The more we post about TrailVoy here, the more it helps their search ranks. If we start posting relevant information here, it will help our search ranks, which is going to take a while.

Just please keep this in mind. Signatures and a funny response here and there will do. Begging to be banned is going to cause problems when VS does realize that they are losing valuable profits because people are choosing to leave, and it will only make them more angry and vengeful.

Anyone remember how this thread started? I hope as much energy goes into helping ppl with there issues as has trying to screw with things on the os in the future here. Alot of ppl could really use it.
