You could just throw in a projector a call it a day and still have a stock look. You have seen Brandon's retro so that gives you an idea of what color matched would look like. White would definitely stand out on your TB or you could do something like the pic below and just blackout the low beam. Still gives you functional hi beams and don't have to worry about LED strips in the turn signals.

I still get a lot of compliments on my lights!! I have really enjoyed them and the light output is good.

What's everybody doing to their tricks lately? I had to change out the pinion seal and the rear end links. Not really a mod but still lol

I put the hood struts in, and really like them. In hindsight, I should have modded the mounting points like I planned to, since the hood opens lower than before, but it's bearable since I'm not lowered.

Tomorrow, meeting up with JimmyJam to do some testing of my AC system. Suspecting the seals on my compressor may have sprung a leak, so we'll hook up his machine and see what we can find out, then do the appropriate mod to make it work again. Glad I noticed it fail now, instead of in May

With the revival of the retrofit thread, and my vacation, I'm gonna try and put the defibrillator on my set. If I focus, I should be able to finish trimming, shaping, drilling and tapping the upper mounts that I started, and epoxy them in place today.

At some point I plan to buy Moog SS rear replacement springs, just to drop the back end on my EXT a bit, and get rid of some (if not all) of the rake.

My truck hasn't moved in a week lol. I just pulled it up a bit in the street. Planning some mods. Retune for fan codes, thermal clutch, detail, and some bushings.

Not surprised, those lights are badass. Did you ever change out your 3000k HIDs to 4300k HIDs in your fog lights?

I have not done much for months, but did install a remote start on Saturday. My OE key fob will lock/unlock the doors while the vehicle is running, thought I might lose that feature with the remote start. It also has a "valet mode" where I can hit the button on the remote start fob and take my keys out of the ignition, but the vehicle will still run. If I need to run in somewhere real quick, I can keep the vehicle running and lock the doors. Pretty nice feature. I have not had a remote start since my first vehicle.

With my weather looking awesome during my Christmas vacation, I think I am going to get back on my fog light retro.

I do like that simplicity. The white has my attention, but that would be nice and clean and simple with good function.

I'm still wanting clear blinker mirrors. Trying to figure out if they are worth the $100 price tag...

If you want to use any color lights besides amber, then yes they most definitely are.

Only other option, would be to use the plain Jane black caps, drill holes, have LEDs in them, and seal with silicone from the inside. One member did this way back on the OS, and it looked really good, but of course requires quite a bit of work.

I'm thinking white or amber. Even if I put an amber bulb, I still think they would look clean. Or I can do what @littleblazer did and put those LED arrows behind the mirrors themselves.

I'm trying to make a list of what I need/want for my rig. Right now I have the following:

Struts & springs possibly Bilstein
Wheel spacers
Z71 springs & shocks
Blinker mirrors
More 3157's for the tails or just LED tails

If you have heated mirrors don't bother. You'll lose them.

Modding them with the arrows like you did or getting the ones with the clear blinker? I've seen a few on Amazon that are power heated with the clear blinker.
Doing the arrows. I almost never had a need for them. Now that they're gone I've needed them on several occasions.

Bro, you do not need any of that. Your TB is posted for sale or did you take down the listing?

Guys....I've reached the phase again where I am no longer intrigued by my rig as much as I used to be. The paint job has gotten worse, more scratches and dings since being back too. She's got another power steering leak, which me and Brandon will address by completely redoing all the seals in the power steering rack. Rubber trim on the outside is extremely faded, and i'm not a fan of using that crap you find in stores to restore it, that made it worse. I see all these other Trailblazer's in town or on Instagram that look amazing and stand out more (in a good way, not blue hood retarded way). I guess what i'm saying is, help me re-lite my passion in modding guys. I still plan on dipping the rig black, that's been pushed back even farther unfortunately though. I've been needing to redo all the cargo area panels since my dumb ass didn't use vinyl paint years ago, they've since cracked. Now i'm gonna need to painstakingly sand all of what doesn't crack, off. That'll be a weekend project once i'm settled after moving. I also need to paint over all the wheel wells. They've faded a very pale gray and it's extremely noticeable. I'm overall not happy with my rig again..... A lot of stuff I want to do, in terms of refurbishing I guess you could say? Work that I've already done. Sorry if I sound like an ass or a pessimist guys. Just need some encouragement and ideas here. Thanks. Annndddd this thread died it seems too, which blows.

I had the same issue a couple of years ago, and had the same hesitations about those 'restore' products, so I opted to go with paint. Jimmy recommended SEM's Bumper Coater, as you don't need adhesion promoter or primer, and it also has a flex additive to prevent cracking.

So I picked up 2 rattle cans, pulled all my black plastic trim, wiper arms and roof racks, and sprayed them. 3 years of FL sun later, and they still look great!

Here's an Ebay link for you

True, all of my modding has been retrofit related lately. Just glad to get that off my plate finally, although I kinda want to change a few things. Next up is changing my mirror turn signal LEDs out, and replacing that busted lens on the passenger side.

Winter just put a damper on a lot of our mod bugs. Hard to mod when freezing cold or snowed in.

I kinda feel you as I am that way with my car a bit. Until it gets the paint job it is just looking really worn out and I don't like it, but a paint job isn't cheap, and keeps getting put off, so...

Maybe I shouldn't buy furniture and save every penny I can until I can afford to get it fixed.

Between the bathroom remodel, my mom's surgery and the cold. I have hardly touched my truck. I installed the inverter on a nice day but it still needs bushings. Bad now I can feel the slop on the highway on all 4 corners and the fan clutch still rests in the box. I also need to fab up a mount for my air bag fill since it's just hanging right now. So I feel you too @Capote on this. Maybe pull out your fender wells and paint them with a black bed liner that has a slight texture. It may not look as nice as smooth but any mess ups will be hidden by the slight texture. I think I saw some other people do it and it didn't look bad. If you want I'll send you my truck to play with.

Been stockpiling more parts. Made an offer on some ebay projectors since a retro is not something i want to tackle myself and cost of having someone else do it is far more than cost to just buy something. Figure any projector will be a step up from stock.

Other vehicle maintanence has been taking most time though. Hard to do mods, when the DD's need basics. Got a thermostat to do in the Traverse and a Heater Core in the Impala since the van is finally dialed in and running like a top.

:undecided: Retrofit mini meet at Kyle's place anyone? I know a couple people retrofitted some TRS projectors into the pnp housings, and were able to use the existing mounts, so that could be an option for you down the road. :twocents:

Yeah I'll go with an actual bumper coating on the wheel wells, and maybe do one coat of gloss black over it?

If you go to FL Kyle, let me and Brandon know when you pass through. I'd love to meet you man. And i would be interested in a meet in the southeast, just sucks I'll be even furthur away from southern FL. I know a TBSS owner at FT.Stewart here @SS_Spaceship on Instagram that goes down there every weekend.

Were you talking about the TRS Retro-Quiks? Both kits use the MMH1 6.0, but come with different mounting hardware based on the manufacturer.

7.0s do look awesome. If I had anything else to retro, I would definitely be using that projector. Big step up from the 6.0 based on output shots that I have seen.
