so who still uses the old site?

The random vehicle ads show how much they do not car. Putting ads for Ford, Toyota and Dodge non a Chevy forum should be the first hint that they do not care.

The first ad time I seen the ads was with my old tablet with old cell phone with no ad block. It was a sad sight to see.

Pretty sure that's just Google AdSense though. I'm a mod on a GM forum and we get ads for other manufacturers as well.

I can give you that one maybe. My experience with the AdSense has been interesting to say the least. I google searched a random phone number probably about 3 weeks ago now, turned out to be a company that buys leases for cell towers. I have seen that ad on every single page that has ads since then.

On another note I just went to see if the admin was still imbedding ads into the subsections. I seen 1 or 2, however running IceDragon browser which is basically stripped down firefox, my browser was constantly freezing with just the one tab with Trailvoy. I have like 8 tabs open on Firefox with no issues. It does the same thing in Chrome. I run AdBlock on Firefox, but not the other two.

I'll be honest, I did use Trailvoy to decide on a CAI to buy and install. But I noticed the place was pretty dead, the threads I looked through were three or four years old. Kinda why I chose to sign up here instead.

Using TrailVoy isn't an offense. We're not feuding with members of TrailVoy, we (the founding staff & members) simply decided not to further Vertical Scope's greedy ways. They didn't know anything about our community, nor did they care. Weasels like Stew were planted to feed lies and BS to the staff (at the time), but there was always some BS excuse why things weren't getting done.

The members that are trying (failing) to bring back the site are entitled to their feeble attempts. There is no reason we be should focusing on them, it's a waste of time and effort that could be aimed at communicating with the members that aren't being helped over there. Stew is never going to follow through with his promise to remove the word filters for GMTN over there, just like he never followed through with the other promises which prompted our departure.

They had it good when we were there... they had a fully volunteer staff tending to their members and keeping things organized while they made money off us. When we left, they fell flat on their face, but in an effort to hide the shame, they kept up with the charade and they continue to do so today. I believe Stew was genuine when he thanked The_Roadie for providing them with pageviews... THEY NEED THEM!

Their articles... the ones that are left , haven't been added to or updated since 2008. If anyone was actually submitting articles, there would still be no one to compose them and publish them.

The thread posted by the admin about how they were forced to remove Tapatalk from TrailVoy.org (yes, you read that right, they don't even know the name of their own fucking site!) claims that Tapatalk forced them to remove their sites, but then a few posts down, the story changes to how they decided to discontinue Tapatalk in favor of their branded app. And yes, you guessed it... their app has costs associated with it. So if you had paid for Tapatalk already, you're screwed, you could no longer use it on TrailVoy.org, or TrailVoy.us, or whatever they think their URL is. Ironically, Tapatalk is the very feature that started this whole thing. I was suddenly not able to maintain the constantly updated plugin that provided members with new features (at the time) and security fixes. It snowballed from there. It's worth a chuckle that the very last post in that thread, posted 3 months ago, brings to light "G M T Nation has it on their site".

Anyway, I got off track there for a minute...

We've all seen how VS runs their sites. Someone mentioned that another VS site is still running smoothly... that's because the staff haven't gotten fed up and left yet. If they did, the site would fall into some failed attempt at auto-pilot and collapse from there.

Lets attempt to stop focusing on the few TrailVoy members that hate us, including the wannabe moderators and hidden staff members, and instead focus on helping the people that TrailVoy ignores, or otherwise alienates with their snarky responses or misinformation campaigns. They owe their site to Roadie, May, and the rest of us that made that site worth buying for VS, and now we get to watch it sink while we continue to improve our site for the benefit of the community.

Some noobs appreciate Bud Light.....until they experience a great craft beer. They love Wonder Bread, until they discover a local artisan bakery. They love George Lucas, until they experience Joss Whedon. They have all their needs satisfied by the ghost town known as Trailvoy, until they locate GMTNation.

Ignorance of what we have going here can be cured with a little awareness. When folks ACTIVELY defend the situation at Trailvoy and try to gather their wagons and defend Vertical Scope's parasitic ownership and clear out the tumbleweeds.....now THAT'S willful ignorance and that can't be a sign of intelligence.

Useless, annoying social media twits are back infesting Trailvoy!

Strange braking problem. Possibly suspension? - Chevy TrailBlazer, TrailBlazer SS and GMC Envoy Forum

Why do they even bother to waste their time typing in an answer that's a non-answer. Vertical Scope can't help, GM Customer Svc can't help. Nothing new on that side of the equation.

I understand that you are looking for technical advice on how to resolve this issue yourself. As a customer service representative, I'm not able to provide much in the way of do-it-yourself information, so I'm glad to see forum members are beginning to step in with feedback. If you have any lingering concerns please private message me via private message.

Haha, I seen a very similar post (probably copy and paste) from the GM Customer Service on another thread over there. I had to quote her response and ask why the hell she is posting and wasting everyone's time and if she cannot provide helpful information, why bother creating an account. Like all other thread over there, the question goes unanswered :rotfl:. Maybe she does not understand that people join the forums to learn more about their vehicles and how to do preventive/corrective maintenance and mods themselves so they do not have to rely on the stealership or another local shop to do the work.

I'm over there spreading the word right now :rotfl: Like an annoying little gnat in VS's face, GnatMionT is.

I could have sworn Garth was kind of a "thanks-but-no-thanks" guy in regards to setting an account up over here, but now I see a post where he does at least have an account, and has recommended at least one person to come over here (mentioned The Roadie is over here, too ). I think that's pretty cool. At least the dude tries to spread actual information over there, and there's no harm in helping people keep their 360s running long enough to finally make it over to this site :rotfl:

Run a Google search for the exact phrase "I'm not able to provide much in the way of do-it-yourself information, so I'm glad to see forum members are beginning to step in with feedback.". Lazy-ass useless flack has used it in over a dozen other support forums. I suspect they're all VS-owned. They richly deserve each other. GM Customer Svc *and* Rob Laidlaw suck donkey balls together.

Robbabob said:

Nah, it didn't get deleted because VS admins only have 5 minutes a day to scan each forum they're responsible for. And they don't work weekends. More lazy-assiness.

What? I was informed that they actually took turns on the balls, with the other going for the shaft. Giving the donkey the complete experience, you know.

I like to look at the archives like time capsules of knowledge....

Those archives aren't going to mean a thing when what I call "The Next Generation of Trailblazer/Envoy Problems 2.0 - for the 200K+ mile owners" takes off. I'm ready for them. Are the archives ready for them? Are the archives ready to fix 5v APP/TAC reference wire spikes without replacing the fan clutch? Are they?

But reading some posts by The Roadie where he lashes out at people that challenge his opinion, newbies or people that lack knowledge or know how of a certain topic is not a good look for establishing a healthy community....

I've been schooled by The Roadie plenty of times throughout the years. And you know what? It's made me a better troubleshooter because underneath the "lashes", there's a valuable lesson to be learned.

Also, we're killing Trailvoy when it comes to welcoming posts, meets. articles, tech threads, solved threads, and such. Heck, there's rarely an occasion where a topic has no replies before I see them. And the site is going to become much, much cooler in the next few weeks. Sounds pretty healthy to me. And established too, if you really think about it.

Ima google him when I'm tryna climb a mountain with my Trailblazer.... But until then, Trailvoy suits my needs just fine....

Recent pic. Good luck with that.

Hey man, I'm Garth! At first I was like thanks but no thanks. Then I thought well, maybe I should take a peak, then I was hooked. Thanks to "Envoy_04"

Check the new posts on the OS and you'll see someone there named Mounce, well that's my fake account. I just wanted to see if they would actually delete a post about gmtn but they haven't. Only thing that happened was they have a filter that changes GMTNation into trailvoy but that's it and I cleared that up in a reply.

I'm not really worried about a cover. If they got wind of me having two accounts and delete both of them, fine. I could make another if I wanted but I'd probably just leave it at that. But I don't see it happening really. They've let it go this long with me bumping the thread once or twice a day so that it'll stay in the "new posts." It's only been up a couple days though, so we'll see what comes of it.

2003 trailblazer Squeak - Chevy TrailBlazer, TrailBlazer SS and GMC Envoy Forum

Started incorrectly in 2009 in the "Latest GM News" forum. Sigh....that was on my watch.

Post #6 in 2012 was a necroposted spam.

Post #7 is a three-post RC Helicopter spammer who necroposted the old thread back to life yet again.

Post #8 is our old idiot friend Loverotties, responding to the spammer with a wrong answer, not noticing it as spam.

Haven't seen him nor "ActionJackson" over there since that one admin or whoever offered a spot for mod. That thread got "closed" when all of that was said.

Well it wouldn't be the first time that users became moderators without being listed as moderators. I believe that this is why the "meet our staff" page doesn't work. We call them "secret moderators". Secret moderators would work behind the scenes moving posts, deleting spam threads, etc. You know, the stuff that Stew, Cayne, and Helena should be doing since they are on the VS payroll. But as history has showed, no matter how hard they try to protect their identity, they always goof up and are exposed. Even pretendo tech guys who copypaste my content from this site over there. Now I know how the roadie feels when his roadieslang is copypasted.

I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but there is another wave of low post accounts from 07/08 popping back up and reviving old threads. You might say that it's just a coincidence and these users aren't aware of the jailbreak, but VS has done this before to boost site stats. If I didn't know any better I would say that they are getting desperate. Despite wordfiltering our site, reading/deleting pms, and silencing those who try to guide new members here, this is a sign that they are losing the battle.

Few days ago things seemed to be kicking back up there with many of the members that joined years ago and had good knowledge started posting and helping people. I found that incident pretty strange. But whoever is supposed to be moderating there does a pretty half-ass job it seems.

It's a battle that they can't win, except to keep the place open as an ad farm to convince advertisers to cough up dollars. Post count HELPS that cause, so that's why they won't spend any of their 5 minutes a day available admin time to do anything so mundane as remove spam. Spam HELPS them!

Without volunteer mods, what can Loverotties do to get the recruiting posts nuked? I can see him desperately pushing the "Report this post" button dozens of times a day, reporting spam and the recruiting posts, all to no avail!

Mounce said:

But a couple of aggressive and very ballsy folks (thanks!) are putting their accounts on the line by posting about us in public, to clue in the noobs who only post in the Intro forum and never get the post count up to use PMs. Vertical Scope's goals are not furthered by allowing PMs anymore, so I wonder why they don't just turn off the function altogether?

Well, that's his loss. I used to be against the nation. But then I looked around a bit over here and I was happy to join. I can understand if people want to try to make the OS work and keep it alive but this site is much better and will be here for years to come. It's just too bad that trailvoy is #1 on google search because that's where everyone is going to join. Just gotta keep broadcasting gmtn over there to lead people here I guess.

Yuppers. He was upset that people would call him out for guessing, and now that he's alone in the tumbleweeds he can post whatever imaginary repairs that he wants. I can't speak for anyone else, but I couldn't tolerate people guessing and wasting peoples time and money. Ignition switch manufacturers love it though. If you go back in time, he has been corrected many, many times about the purpose of the disconnected red wire and still won't accept the fact that it has nothing to to with trailer brakes. Ignorance is bliss.

And some people don't get that most of the content creators are here and can just as easily duplicate everything that was posted over there. It can't be done overnight, but in our nearly 2 1/2 years here our resources are on par to destroy theirs. If VS isn't turning a profit off of that site, they will pull the plug and zero fawks will be given about the content and/or members.

I was talked out of hitting the BAN button many times on ignorant folks like that who refused to take the education they were freely offered. But it was the trailvoy (now GMTN) culture to tolerate that sort of behavior long after other forums might have nuked them.
If VS isn't turning a profit off of that site, they will pull the plug and zero fawks will be given about the content and/or members.
If VS can't turn a profit with their admins only spending 5 minutes a DAY monitoring the site, they're much stupider than I thought possible for folks who can actually dress and feed themselves and drive to work every day. With each admin responsible for over 50 forums (!), they depend on the slave unpaid labor of mods who don't know or care the profits are being sucked out of the community. It's just at trailvoy, the essence of the community ENTIRELY left the building and there's no *there* left.

Darn shame that it had to be done, but it was necessary. The community is the MEMBERS, not the watering hole we simply gathered around. What we did here in Dec 2011 was much like that happened in Philadelphia on the 4th of July 1776. And for very much the same economic and political reasons.

And that's why we believe in the non-profit mission of the site, by the people and for the people.

[Why do I feel like playing some fife and drum marching music now?]
