I had that epiphany also. They really aren't too bad in the rain, but this snow was coming down heavy.

Badass oldschool Chevy I frequently see on post
The sticker on the bumper reads: "If you value your life as much as I value this truck, don't mess with it"

Looks like a 60's model. I've got a 65 GMC stepside (looks a lot like that Chevy) that's been in the family since 65.. Needs a ton of work but I'm planning to restore it.

Btw, I like the bumper sticker..I'll have to get me one.

Not a good sign to see a fire truck and ambulance pulling into your complex as you come home. Fortunately there was no smoke in the air, and they headed to the other end of the complex from me.

First snow since i got the envoy. Went out tooling around in 2WD on some roads that had not been plowed yet. Just an inch or two with ice underneath. Made it up the hills but was not impressed with the traction of the all seasons. I was not expecting much out of them though. With stabilitrak on there was virtually no wheel spin and i could take off fairly quick. That impressed me.

At least this guy gave everyone a fair warning, even though I had already slowed down by the time I could read the sticker.

Catching up on this thread...

Once I was cruising down the highway chatting on my ham radio and guy goes to pass me, looks over, sees me on the microphone and hits the brakes. Like the cops are driving Dodge Shadows.

On my way back from one of our other facilities. A train in the middle of town.

We got slammed by the winter storm last night/early this morning. 35-40 minute drive home took about 90 minutes. Snowing so hard I could not see, then switched to rain, back to snow, then rain  Interstate was one lane rolling at 30mph. Back roads were worse.

Worst part of the drive is the steep down hill with a 50° turn at the bottom. If you slide off of the road, you drop 15' into someone's yard

Same winter storm front that got us. Looks like you had more moisture. The road i turned down had a long hill going down with a sharp curve at the bottom with trees to stop you from going off a cliff. I chickened out and got on a plowed road and went home. Glad you made it home.
