Because they don't have a thread that they can simply follow...

Hardly. Android 5 just got released late last year, and Samsung (And then the carrier Sprint) have just been a bit slow to put together the package for the GS4. More the maker's fault than anything to do with Android itself. But it doesn't really bother me either.

Direct head-to-head would be iPhone vs Nexus. Nexus is pure Android and gets the updates almost immediately.

Besides, Android 4.4 still beats the snot out of iOS version anything :raspberry:
Get your Samsung and try to update android. Doesn't happen. I see new Samsung tablets being sold with some version of Android 2. On the other hand, iPhones are simply limited like computers. The new operating system might be more robust or large than the processor will handle and it may slow it down. But it is available to them no matter what and it is available the day it is released by Apple. Unlike android, iOS is not carrier dependent. Android is modified by the carriers for each phone. As far as I know, the Nexus is also a modified version of android. I do not believe that the Nexus will allow it to create a hotspot unless you are paying for that service from the carrier. I could be wrong on that.

My tablet has a dual core Intel processor that is rated much faster than my iPhone processor. My phone has 32 gigs internal and the tablet has eight gigs of storage. The phone is running iOS 7.1 something and the tablet is running android 4.4. The tablet has a lower resolution screen than the phone. My iPhone runs circles around the tablet for speed. I do have a few of the same games. The phone's memory is virtually full and it requires more processing for the high-resolution screen. It plays much faster than the tablet.

iPhone FTMFW!

Storage means absolutely squat for system speed. I don't know much about the intel ARM CPUs and how they rate. Reminder, just the GHz doesn't tell you all that much as far as actual overall speed.
Nexus is pure android, not modified.
Samsung won't update my android yet because Samsung hasn't made the image for my phone yet (slowpokes). If I had a Nexus phone (like my brother) I'd have had the update late last year.

Having to deal with iOS nearly every day at work apple has become nearly a swear word in the office lol. Guess how many of the guys who handle the equipment in the back have iOS for their personal phones and tablets? Exactly zero

Im also for sure that no NEW tablet comes with android 2. Most likely it was 4.2 which is the next to most recent update.. As does almost every flagship phone but the nexus and a few select others (in foreign countries though) With 5.0 being the most recent update.

It's OK though, that's why there are choices. Windows, iOS, Android... Something for everyone.

Like I said I'm probably going to pick up a Moto G for now and most likely a Samsung of some type in dec.

Yolo. My contract runs out in May. Was actually at the phone store today and only thing I liked was the s5 and it's still $200 with a two year contract. I'm hoping the price goes down before I upgrade.

Yeah, I like the 99 cent phones with upgrades, that's what I'm on now and this particular one rocks but only phone in the store I found for 99 cents was an iPhone 5c.

We support both IOS and Android but we also still have CrackBerries. So I managed to have both.
