The swap itself wasn't really that bad, and If I had known about the driveshaft needing to be shortened and about the crappy UV Joint It would have been about a 3 hour job. I would have went and got the driveshaft done before I even started the swap. Find one! don't be scared....

Well we did discuss it and you weren't sure because of the lift on your truck. It's no big deal though really it only cost $76 to shorten and balance it. I spent a little more on the joints. I had read a few threads where idiots were saying they just put it in and didn't have to do anything but use the 447 UV joint. But now we know for sure, whether lifted or lowered it will have to be shortened 1.5 +/-

You got half shitty actually and told me you would not need to and my lift was why. I let it go when I said it may be different with 2wd, if you really want to get into it. Only one post on Trailvoy did I ever find that said it went straight in without shortening the shaft,

But it is what it is.

Reminds me: I need to pick up another spare ujoint cause it is the same my buddy needed for his 85 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevy and everywhere was closed when he needed it. Since its an oddbal joint I like to keep a spare with me.

That goes to show how different points of view can really be. I never got "shitty" with you, if you feel that way don't

You never said "Hey bro your gonna have to shorten your driveshaft period, it's gonna happen." I just told you what I had read online.

Lol we are all friends I hope. It's hard sometimes to only communicate through text, you can't really know what anybody's attitude is and more times than not something meant to be innocent gets made out into something else.

I wouldn't try to make anybody mad intentionally, I am actually a very easy going guy in person.

I want an SS rear axle and front diff.... Whats the width on the TBSS 14b compared to the regular 14b, 14b being the semi floater and 14B being the full floater.

The other SS 14b being the 454SS.

According to Google, Swedish has 6 words for whore.

There is your 14 bolt info...

I think the 10.5 FF 14 like in my burban is 5 or 6 inches wider. The 9.5 SF 14 from the SS is straight bolt in and really plenty strong enough for about any power a TB is putting down until you get into the heavy built v*s. It is the standard 3/4 ton rear end.

Axle swap isn't bad. I got good at it when I swapped in my 8.6 and it was busted and I had to drop and install another one.

Shortening the DS sounds like a bit of a nuisance. Was told I should have shortened mine technically when going from the 8.0 to 8.6 since the 8.6 is a slightly longer housing but it has seemed to be OK.
