I dont believe it from my own experience. People say a multitude of things. Some say my locker will make my truck wreck and roll over killing a busload of nuns in snow, but I have no issue with handling.

Some say in mud you want a skinny tire to sink to bottom, but what happens when there is no bottom. I want all the rubber I can spin tossing mud and grabbing traction. Some say it is the ground pressure and the narrow tire exerts more force. But on snow you get traction from siping grabbing snow and the snow on snow is your traction not your rubber against snow, so i want big wide contact patches grabbing for traction, not smaller patches. On ice everything sucks.
