So why is it that you won't fix your TB instead of getting a backup car? Don't have time to fix it?

Whats wrong with the Blazer? Not reliable?
I have gone through the brakes twice, replaced the starter. Still need to replace front door handles.

Dang...my top 4 cars would be

  • TB (lifted or slammed both look great!)
  • Colorado (because they look cool and I live in CO)
  • Cobalt SS
  • Lancer Evo
I personally don't like Colorados/Canyons because of the headlight/turn signal set up. Looks like Silverado lights just upside down. First time I saw one, that got me lol.

Links don't seem to work, Saskatoon is 2.5 hrs away and medicine hat (which I'm assuming the first link is from) is further out

Toyota is too far out of budget and it's wrong province. Cavalier is too far to go look at.

Limitations:

Must be Saskatchewan plated
No more then $1000
And must be closer then 2 hrs away

My high school GF had a 3rd gen. Had a bad overheting issue due to the aluminum head. Anytime we were sitting in traffic she had to have the heat on full blast. That was awesome in the summer.

I justed scanned through Drew's thread for the free tools and there are 19 members who posted the first time in that thread. Most of them just joined in the last couple days. His referrals are going to go through the roof.

Hopefully all these new members stick around and post.

Ok, I know the concept has been done before, but I want a tiny camper and was thinking something like this:
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1414550343.633634.jpg

I figure I'd want an XL, but none of the interior components and nothing north of the rear doors. I know body panels can still be costly, but if I found one being parted out early enough.... Just an idea and rough Photoshop sketch, otherwise I'd make a thread for it.

Ok....thinking of a different plan....kinda came to the realization that a lot of the brake wear problem is the fact I do 100-150 kms of hard stop/go driving each shift....various speeds and heating the brakes up at a similar rate to the abuse race vehicles see especially in autocross/road course racing. So of course cheap semi metallic pads and cheap Oe type rotors are not gonna hold up as they should. I seen evidence of this in the pads I pulled from the left side....the friction material had large cracks going through it. What I suspect happened on the right side is that the same thing happened and the pad failed rapidly. So I'm thinking that at minimum I need to upgrade to ceramic pads. So I may get a set and a spare pair of oe rotors and plan to install them by January. Still considering a back up beater though.

God I just got an idea.. Got an OLD rusted out Chevy pickup in the edge of the woods..I bet the bed would make a stunning trailer... Would just have to put a floor in it and de-rust it and get it painted. Have one or two mobile home axles that could be cut up and resized for the axle too.

Future project... Maybe.

Another future project that's been in the planning/waiting for money phase for years is full resto on a 65 GMC stepside we have.

Using the bed of a truck for a trailer is an awesome idea. I think Trailz has some pics floating around of his. Maybe the what are you towing with yours thread.

What I was thinking about was under bed storage in front of axle, battery and maybe water behind axle. I can do a 4x8 tiny travel trailer, with plenty of options, for about $1600. And it would be lighter most likely.

True. Having a pickup is nice. I doubt we will ever get rid of the F150 even when I get the wife a new vehicle. You can always use a truck.
