HAHAHAHA thats a GREAT IDEA! she does want a car that she can learn how to do work on and definitely wants a turbo or to install a turbo on it. (got her hooked I think...)

any (fsat/fun) car suggestions (for her) that go along nicely with the envoy and interceptor?

Like that guy who made his wife sign a prenup that said if she ever let the gas tank of any of their cars get below half without filling up the marriage is over
Or the one where they both agreed if either of them ever left a "floater" in the toilet without flushing... Its over

But honestly if i had a really sweet car i'd let the wife say its hers so that people think i have something insane hiding in the garage like a tank or something lol

People have standards folks. lol.

Dude. Girls are SOOOOOOOOOO competitive. If she is driving a nice car, every chick she knows WILL NOTICE. Whether they are into cars or not. I assure you of this. There are a few exceptions to every rule. But again, it is the rule lol

small 2wd car until she is proven to be able to drive. Keep your girl safe man.

Eclipse, talon, civic etc... maybe find one that has one and do a rebuild to eliminate the guesswork?

hahaha AGREEED ! She enjoys showing it off haha its awesome and yes safety is s the primary concern and she used to race go carts and even has done some auto cross with me...so I think a 2wd car is suitable for sure!

I personally have always been a fan of the 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX. Its their AWD model equipped with roughly 210hp, turbocharged, 2.0L 16-valve DOHC engine.

That would be affordable and something you guys could work on together.

her current commuter, an older 2002 honda accord surprisingly with a vtec in it lol it needed a new battery and new terminal connectors and new grounds for the alt and starter and an oil change, so I said would you rather work on that and learn how to do some of it or go see a movie. 45 minutes later she was changing the oil and helping fix the battery terminal issues while I fixed the battery. i like it a lot...and she is one of those types that would get a sweet car and then race me in her car alll the time and has been learning how the turbo system works...from blow off valve to the compressor size....
...
(no vtec jokes IVE HEARD AND SAID THEM ALL haha ! if nissans tuner is nismo...that definitely makes hondas tuner...homo? just sayin)

My cousin just bought a bmw 328i for $4000 with 170,000kms and has the M bodykit
Fully loaded with a 16 speaker harman sound system which i would die to have in my voy
Really peppy car for a 2.8L, was a blast to rip it around for a bit

Girls love bmws and Mercedes just because the name
But raw power changes their minds completely

I had a 120hp 1999 rav4 before the voy which my girl loved for some reason
But when i got the voy and took her for her first ride and WOTd it out of a 7/11 parking lot i swear she got wet a little :rotfl:
I wonder what a tuned 5.3 saab would do  loool

haha pick your battles carefully! Two Christmas's ago my wife was running her mouth on how she used to always beat me in Mario cart N64 (when we were dating ). I told her cousins to hook up the game and let her pick the course. One race. For bragging rights. Let's just say at some point after that day we had a discussion on how to lose like a good sport and not being a sore loser in the presence of others :book: lol I killed her on the crazy black space course that was really hard to stay on.

That thing sounds like a damn Messerschmitt!.......:thumbsup:

You need to get her launch it in the tunnel while you take a vid standing outside......or she can film it.

You are trusting letting her hit 120mph. Sounds great though. A tunnel video would be amazing

Some vehicles just get up and go and before you know it!

I've been pressing the tunnel video since he got back from NYC with his girl in the spring! A long one into the city in the wee morning hours, maybe with two escorts two help slow traffic! I am sure he will make it count, I noticed her reaction on the downshift with the throwback, and he highlights it! Awesome!

Huh? oh my bad I meant to say when I got back with MY girl.

more than half mile tunnel should be good! You can always throw a couple of cheap ear plugs in the car. I do because the one time I go shooting and I forget  lol. AND I've got enough hearing loss to be considered a disability. Not that bad just watch it when you notice it go :rotfl: You'll feel the ride better too :rotfl:

Enjoy! Just having with the girl (I was not driving at all haha)

watch in HD and for full effect use headphones with loud volume..hurts my ears but its like being there.

I apologize if this video gets blocked from mobile too....im getting sick of youtube matching 3rd party content and not allowing mobile viewing even when I give due credit to the music used in the video for all of 30 sec.

Sounds pretty mean, CK, please tell me to shut up that everything is fine.... but there's this little guy on my shoulder thinking something isn't quite right. At 8 PSI, that motor should lunge but I'm not seeing it and I'm hearing a lot of compressor noise, could be the exposed filter, tube length...etc. Your gauge is reading pressure but my gut tells me the voy with the weight removed should lunge harder but not being there is likely the deal.

My disclaimer...I'm just asking just to bring it to your attention, not to put down your setup, not trying to add any drama but just trying to help if possible.

After watching the vid a second time, I turned down the volume and what I heard ever so faintly behind the turbo was "MOVE B!TCH, GET OUT THE WAY" :rotfl:

No worries about the mobile content. You earned it where if I want to see your video, I'll find a way lol. How about one shot of your ride tearing away with the same distance you had on the approaches? Like a 1/8 to 1/4 mile pull away with just the exhaust? I was itchin for that towards the end, had one, but a gear shift would sound sweet pulling away lol

No really thank you for your concern man. I too have thought wtf have a small leak in the up pipe so the pressure should be at 0.5 bar but now the most it gets to is 0.3 bar (after a hundred feet) BUT the big killer is not getting that power to the ground. literally I can hammer down, the rpms nearly redline but NOTHING for 2 seconds happens or more. The transmission and torque converter are in dire need of rebuilding I think this too is causing a major problem... but I definitely have a small leak in the up piping thats not building pressure like it should

Here's what I've been thinking about, please, anyone critique my assessments as I want to try to make his motor work as well as possible. I believe there is insufficient airflow, or lack of volume..either in intake restriction or exhaust restriction. Going back over the build, I see five 90 deg bends in the intake, basically three 90 deg bends and one 180 deg bend at the TB. On average one 90 deg bend can cause as much restrictiton as 20-25 feet of straight pipe.

We need to get a pressure reading at the front O2 sensor at idle, light throttle and under boost, my gut says to remove to the 2 mufflers and go with one high-flow muff and one exit but that is down the road.

Obviously 8 psi is the pressure behind the intake valves but I feel it's because of a strong restriction from not being able to move the volume of air. Basically 8 psi with low air volume movement is far, far different from 8 psi of high volume movement. You will always see 8 psi with the 8 psi wastegates, but volume of air is key and I think we need to fine tune this system.

Someone here knows this better than me.. lets make it work. If this thing hits 60 in 5.5 seconds then I will just be quiet.
