Give it the weekend, but its that or possibly the following weekend.
 
Not promising anything but.my vacation is at that same time starting on Aug 5 till the next weekend. Just need to convince the wife. Just need some sights to see as long as they're not giants balls of yarn!

That was the last city I saw on the thread. Using Indianapolis, that's about a 12 hour drive instead of 22 to OKC. A lot better. :yes:

Don't change your plans over me though. I'm a long shot at best.

I've think I've it but maybe not, I'm probably going to sit this one out. Too far to drive and getting everything coordinated with the military ain't gonna happen.
 
Don't say ain't going to happen... Until things get locked in for this event you haven't even tried on the military side. You don't have much to coordinate except for maybe a couple of days of leave to make travel safer.

Tentative plan for August 5th being day of big meet in SE Indiana near Batesville unless I find a semi-local thing to have us all meet at. I know typically people come in on Friday. Might try to set up a campfire/primitive camping thing to have available at our property depending on numbers.

I meant coming from Ohio. That makes 4 of us from Ohio so far.

We will all be going to SE Indiana on looks like Aug 5th, so plan on that :D

What are hotels like around there? Too old for camping :biggrin:

Have truck, will travel.

That's fine with me, I'll probably just go for the day and drive home at night or maybe find a hotel up there. The kiddos are still really young and the girlfriend will be very pregnant at that point
 
Only a little over 3 hours for me. Likely would show up Friday (depending on what works out for Friday), leave late Saturday would be my guess.

Check if you need to take leave for the trip. The midwest group is a bunch of the guys I would like to meet up with if I am given the right opportunity to make it that direction. Not that I wouldn't mind meeting others or the Tampa group since I spent time down there.

It's a 4 hour drive for me, so I'll be coming down on Friday and leave early Sunday morning.

There's only 2 hotels in Batesville. The Comfort Inn is filling up fast. The Hampton is more expensive.
 
There are the two hotels, but if Batesville makes it too small, it could be adjusted to a larger nearby town as well. Just trying to get a date mostly and general vicinity so logistics could be done.

Lawrenceburg is bigger and close by with a casino and a dirt motorsports track. Edgewater dragstrip is near as well. Options are available, just want to get people able to make a basic outline right now.

Either one works for me, I think edgewater is closer to me but it doesn't matter. If august 5th I may have to be out because the girlfriends step mom wants to have a baby shower that day for us :Banghead:

I'm hoping I can make it! Is it for sure the 5th or is that subject to change?

Edit: well it's been confirmed, the 5th is out for me unfortunately, baby shower that day.

You can hit up night before, late night meet afterhours or the typical sunday breakfast though. You are right next door compared to most.

Hopefully its not like Chicago and members getting patted down in the parking lot...

Yes that is true, I just wasn't sure if people were coming Friday night or just on Saturday and I could possibly do Sunday morning. If there is enough people Friday I may take a half day off work and come Friday. Hopefully nobody gets a pat down!
 
If it works for me, I'd be coming down on Friday, overnight Sat and Sun to head back. Still working on the wife...

If enough people go Friday I'll come down Friday and hangout then come back Sunday depending how early people are leaving

Very true, maybe I'll take a half day and hangout and leave later in the evening but then I gotta deal with rush hour on 275 :hissyfit:
