Well..the etching primer didn't take to the frame of the tractor.... :Banghead: ....How do you screw up etching primer? So I tried some acetone and that really softened it up but I needed something to take this stuff off.

I had the wifey grab me some aircraft paint remover today while she was out and man.....is this stuff nasty. Respirator and face shield required as this napalm will dissolve your testicles.

But it works.

I can definitely agree that stuff screwed up my passenger headlight lense with one tiny drop that was an accident

Well didn't get to changing the oil on the snow blower. Tstat change on the truck took my whole afternoon. That lower alternator bolt was a bit more of a problem than I remember it being, but that radiator hose clamp was the worst.

For the rest of the evening its going to be shower and beer. Maybe a movie.

Had company over on this rainy day. The kids played and we had some cold ones to pass a lazy afternoon. Sent out for some Chinese food for dinner, not a bad Saturday off!

Installed a Chamberlain MyQ garage door opener. Now I can check from my phone and make sure my old lady didn't forget to close it.

Also installed a budget boost lift on my wife's XJ then she bought new rims and got a set of Grabber AT2's put on.

Nice man, looks good.

Watching some NCAAF. Rained today so did not get a chance to do much outside.

Need to finish some yard work, move the deck furniture into the basement, and time to install the stockers and store the SS wheels for the winter.

Was supposed to meet up with some folks to watch the Bucs game today. Bunch of no call no shows, so I ended up staying home :hissyfit: Seeing how this game is starting, that's probably a good thing. :hopeless:

Besides that, trolling Ebay and looking at Dremel accessories.

Put in some work on the DD Grand Prix. Ive been limiting my urge to cave into mods on her (14 year old car and I get more compliments on it than my SS lol, but shes been stock and the 3800 series II motors are tanks! So I want to leave it stock) but my headlights were just crap so I coughed up the money and bought some CCFL Halo Projector lights and I got 6000k VVME HID's as well (hated going from HID's in the beaSSt to stock halogens in my car). Even with the torturous few days of getting used to the light output of projectors and aiming them properly, overall im pretty happy with the outcome.

Do they Hids seem more smoth on the road than before? what about the focus? i have been thinking of getting some for my TB but can't find any that i like......
Huge difference in light output, just like it would be on our TB's. Just kind of weird getting used to a cutoff line in the horizon over the open effect we have in our reflective housings, if that makes sense. I've never sat in a TB with projectors, ive just seen pix. It took me a while to dial them in and aim them where I was happy and to where people wont flash me. With these particular projectors, it seems to produce the most light directly in front of the car, then the "peripheral" light output isnt the best... it's hard to justify in pix, but heres what I have...

See the cutoff line and then the direct output focused on the front of the car then the hue in the horizon. This os harder to explain on forum than seeing in person lol. Hope this kinda answered your questions

Here's another pic, see how it lights up the stop sign from like 5-600 ft away, but most light output is right in front of the car...

And thx for complinets everyone :tiphat:

That cuttoff line actually looks really good.

I know exactly what you mean about the cuttoff. After I started driving with projectors in the TB, I could not stop starring at the cutoff.

I never adjusted the HIDs in my TB so I have a cutoff as well, atleast I don't blind people because they're 15K's. About to do a Quad Beam mod anyways..

You too then huh? :rotfl: glad im not the only one. Coworkers were like "hey, you have a blue line coming out of your lights" hahaha... newbies!

Never adjusted them in my SS either. I have 8000k's and I've never been flashed. But with the GP, I wanted to do it right. Plus the GP has one bulb as a low and high so I wanted to split that up as well.

Edit: I forgot to add that since the CCFL halo's are close to a 6000k lighting color, and now that I have 6000k HID's, I ordered 6000k Cree LED fog light bulbs so all lights can be in unison (sp?) Up front  hate that when I turn on my parking lights the fogs dpnt match the halos lol

:offtopic:

Anyone ever had a TB behind them? Just stock halogen lights are crazy bright to me when one is behind me. And I've been flashed two or three times lately with completely stock lights. I have to say though, GM had their shit together when they designed the reflectors in our lights, they put out a good bit of light.

They do put out a lot of lot, our headlights are crazy bright with HIDs, My low beams are aimed low, never adjusted them and my Highbeams are bright as hell. When I have both on at the same time it literally looks like daylight :rotfl: Both my Hi's and Lo's are 15,000K bulbs lol

Thanks for the info

Public holidayfor us public servants today, so I'm grabbing a trailing, hooking it up to the TB and hauling some branches I cut down yesterday to my bosses house so she can burn them for me.

Then work at wallyworld tonight 5-9.

Working, then alot of running around before darts tonight. We are playing the current first place team in our division. Half way through the season, its between the 2 of us for the top spots, everyone else is pretty far behind.

You do realize that going down to around a 6-7000k bulb would give you far more usable light right?
